Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 267
Chapter 267: Why these medicines makes me sleep Chapter 267: Why these medicines makes me sleep “You know I have my ways, son.
It’s just that I wanted to give you an opportunity to speak out before I got involved,” Nancy remarked, darting her look back at Ella.
Her hand slowly reached under her chin, causing her to stare into her eyes.
“I understand why you were restraining, but believe me, Ella, we are not the people who would judge you.
We’ve always desired you and Stefan could-” “Ma’am?” “Yes, Nancy is right, Ella.
Aside from being your boss, I’ve always wanted to see you and our son together.” Marcus simply agreed with his wife, saying, “It was something within me that made me see that.” “So, don’t worry too much about the implications since we fully support Stefan’s decision.
If not for him, I might have stepped up and terminated the contract,” he claimed.
Ella’s eyes filled with tears, and her lips trembled.
“Dad, you’re making her cry.” Stefan’s protective instinct kicked in, and he promptly rebuked his father, surprising Nancy and Marcus, but they soon burst out laughing.
“Look, I told you, your son is just like you,” Nancy said, and she quickly pulled Ella with her and made her sit on the couch.
“You don’t have to think so much, Ella, because we know everything,” Nancy said, wiping away the tears that were flowing down her cheeks.
Ella nodded in agreement with Nancy’s words before pulling her into a motherly hug.
“And from now on, you will never doubt yourself.
You don’t lack anything; folks lack brains and eyesight,” she added with a smile on her lips.
“Where should I sit?” Stefan, who felt alone, inquired, hoping for some space to sit alongside Ella, but Nancy indicated.
“Go and sit with your dad,” she shouted immediately, and the youngster stormed over to his father and sat next to him with a huff.
“You’ve already forgotten your beloved son, mom,” Stefan whined.
“And also her husband,” Marcus said, as both son and father exchanged sad looks before glancing at the two beautiful women in their lives.
**** [Miller house] “So now you want to meet that Franklin guy by yourself?” Sitting on the bed in front of her, Gabriel queried.
“Yes, and not by myself, in fact you are also coming with me” said her.
Gabriel had no idea what was going on with Eveline, but he knew it was preferable for him to obey her instructions rather than prevent her from doing anything.
“Okay, if that’s what you want,” he said, and she stood up the next second.
“Why are you sitting?
Let’s go,” she remarked, catching Gabriel completely off guard.
“Now?
” Gabriel raised his brow in surprise.
He couldn’t stop laughing when he found out Eveline wanted to meet that Franklin guy at 11 p.m.
“Why not?
It’s not that late,” she replied casually, causing Gabriel to facepalm.
“Eve, sit down,” he murmured, taking her hand and having her seat next to him.

“It’s too late for us to go anywhere, but I promise to take you tomorrow morning,” Gabriel attempted to pursue her, and she listened intently.
Eveline was overly excited about everything, which bothered him.
He realized she wanted to get the answers, but not in this manner.
They cannot be careless.
Being impatient will just complicate things for them.
In contrast, Eveline chewed her lower lip with eagerness.
For some reason, she felt compelled to hurry, but she also realized that it wasn’t the appropriate moment for them to leave the house.
“As soon as we wake up tomorrow, we’ll look for him,” she said, and he nodded, finally breathing a sigh of relief.
“Now, come on, let’s go to bed,” he urged, and she gave him a puzzled look.
“Aren’t you going home?” I mean, you came straight from the office.
“Won’t your parents be worried about you?” she inquired.
“They already know I’m here,” he replied, pulling her into his arms.
Eveline remained silent, knowing that by now, even their parents would have figured out where their child goes every night.
That is why they trouble so much to inquire.
“I think Franklin is just a scapegoat for getting in touch with me,” she asked, putting her head on his chest.
Eveline was attempting to link all potential loopholes in order to make sense of all that was unfolding before their eyes.
She was convinced the message was sent by him, but his denial that he had no idea meant someone else was using him as a scapegoat to get things done.
“It’s possible or else why would the text would even come in the first place” according to Gabriel.
Both were deep in meditation when Gabriel suddenly received a text from Leon notifying him of a meeting with Blake the other day.
“Blake wants to meet you tomorrow,” he remarked, leaving Eveline with caution.
Gabriel could tell Eveline was thinking about something because she had never seen her grandfather before, therefore she was understandably nervous.
However, in order to extract their equation with her mother, they had to do what he instructed.
“Okay,” she whispered softly and hugged him passionately.
“I hope everything goes well,” she said, feeling a sweet kiss on her forehead.
“It will,” he answered.
**** While the pair was looking forward to the meeting, Blake was restless.
He agreed to meet Eveline, but he needed to be sure about everything.
“Master, your medicines,” Roger remarked, offering the elderly man his medicine.
Blake looked at his hand, then back at the man.
“Did you consult the doctor why these medicines makes me sleep longer than expected” was his question.
Roger gave the old man a smile and nod.
“Yes I, did and he assured it’s not the medicines that makes you sleep longer but your age and work load tires up your body and mind” according to him.
Blake gave his helper a doubtful look and nodded.
“Keep it here.
I’ll take it later,” he added, as the man retreated as per his orders.
As soon as the door to his room closed, Blake’s eyes darkened and he darted his glance to the medicine on the tray.
Blake quickly got up, hurried into the restroom, and flushed them.
He couldn’t risk sleeping any longer since he had business to attend to, and knowing Roger was lying just in front of him, he couldn’t let them win.
After ensuring that everything was in order, he strolled out and chose a glass of water to drink.
Just like Eveline, Blake was excited to meet his grandchild.
He was the unhappy father who never got to see his daughter or her daughter, but after years of waiting, he would finally see her.
And he was not about to allow anyone get in the way of his plans.
*** Meanwhile, outside, Roger entered an isolated area and made a call.
“Yes, I gave him the medicine, but the old man is doubtful about it” replied the doctor.
“Keep lying to him and make sure he doesn’t make any mistakes,” the guy on the other end instructed, and Roger agreed.
“Yes, boss,” he said as he closed the call.
After more than two hours of waiting outside, Roger eventually entered the room, only to see the old man sleeping.
He immediately looked at the tray where he had placed the pills and drink, and was relieved to find it empty.
Roger walked out and closed the door, giving one last look at the figure sleeping on the bed.
**** [Ella’s place] Ella couldn’t sleep after a hectic evening, so she chose to observe the stars from the balcony.
Perhaps her heart was at ease after a heavy burden had been lifted, and she was finally joyful.
Today she understood that the right person will select you anyway, and with Stefan, she was finally able to see her dream come true.
Unknowingly, a smile appeared on her lips, but it wavered.
Priscilla’s remarks remained engraved in her mind, and unless she cleared them, the claims would not be erased.
‘Am I actually an illegitimate child?
That’s why my father abandoned my mother after discovering the truth,’ she wondered, glancing at the city lights.
Ella’s life has been anything but straightforward since she was born.
A child without a father has always been questioned, but when people use phrases like “bastard child,” it fractures something inside you.
Ella would break down everytime she was confronted with such cruel statements.
The only thing was that she never had the fortitude to approach her mother, which is where she went wrong.
He had the right to know the truth about her birth and why her father abandoned her.
“Dove, why aren’t you sleeping?” Ella was jolted out of her thoughts when Stefan put his arm around her from behind.
His sleepy voice reached her ears as he placed his chin on her shoulder and hummed.
Her heart was instantly calmed as she rested her hand on his and closed her eyes.
“Because I am happy,” she explained, looking at him in amazement.
“What?
Are you not happy?” She inquired, glancing at his astonished expression.
