After meeting Eveline and Gabriel, Blake remained seated until the door to their booth opened and Roger went inside.

His eyes inspected the man in front of him and replied, “I am sorry, Boss, but we have to return.” Blake looked at his assistant with bloodshot eyes and hissed, “Is there anything I can do on my own?” Roger merely bowed his head.

Blake had known Roger for years, but one day his most trusted guy turned his back on him by becoming a spy for his opponent.

He knew there had to be a reason for his drastic shift, but Blake never imagined that he would be obligated to obey every command of his superior until he forgot their relationship.

“I will, but first let me give you something,” he said, pulling out the camera and tossing it away.

“Making me a slave wasn’t enough; now your boss is pulling cheap stunts like planting these cameras,” he stated in anger before getting up to depart.

Roger grabbed up the camera and followed Blake till they arrived at the hotel where he was staying.

As soon as he stepped into the lobby, something piqued his interest, and he turned to face the person he caught a glimpse of while exiting the elevator.

What is he doing here?” Blake furrowed his brow and looked at Roger, who appeared to be busy on his phone, before abruptly stopping until Jonathan was out of sight.

“Is anything wrong, boss?” Roger inquired when Blake abruptly stopped.

Blake sighed as he looked in the direction where Jonathan had vanished.

However, he soon pressed his temple and hissed in pain.

“Ah, I think I have a headache,” he lied, feigning a migraine, and Roger furrowed his brow.

The old man was fine just a minute ago, but he suddenly developed a headache, which surprised Roger, so he rushed to his aid.

“Let us go to the room,” he exclaimed frantically, assisting the elderly man to his room.

Blake sat on the bed with his head resting on the headboard and his legs stretched ahead, He said, “Go and call Doctor Matthew.

Inform him about my condition.” Roger nodded and dashed out of the room to call the doctor.

Roger let out a sigh of relief and straightened up.

His eyes darkened at the prospect of Jonathan staying in the same hotel as him, and he only found out about it today.

But the question was: What was he doing here?

Did he find out about him?

Or was there something else that brought him here?

As he continued to ponder his thoughts, he heard a knock on the door and returned to his original position.

“Room service.”  Blake furrowed his brow and slowly opened his eyes, staring at the man.

His eyes darkened as he noticed the individual’s hideous appearance, and he quickly reached into the side table drawer and pulled out his gun.

“I never asked for any room service?

Who are you?” Blake queried as he saw the man lock the door from inside before turning to face him and removing his mask.

The old man murmured, “Kaden.”.

The rifle in his hand is slowly lowering.

“What are you doing here?” he questioned, staring at his son with bewilderment.

After all these days, he was finally able to see his son in person, but why was he disguised and present?

“You shouldn’t be here, Kaden.

They have their men monitoring me.” Blake ignored the overpowering look on Kaden’s face and urged him to go.

Kaden observed his father.

The old man did not appear to be in good health either.

From the gleam in his eyes to his physical appearance, everything has changed in these short months.

When he last visited his father, he seemed a little better, but today he appeared exhausted and feeble.

“I know everything, Dad, but what is wrong with you?” Kaden dismissed his concerns and approached him.

Blake and Kaden’s friendship deteriorated after his father disowned his daughter for putting her love before his pride.

He never expected a man who cherished his children to suddenly cut relations with one of them after they disobeyed his words.

Kaden knew his father valued reputation and family name above all else, but knowing the type of man he was marrying his daughter to made him worry how deep his pride ran.

Kaden was 10 years younger than Erna and had always respected her for being a good sister.

Their parents, being socialites, would rarely pay attention to them, and the youngsters sought refuge and love in one another.

Erna was more than just his mother’s older sister who cared for him both in and out of the home.

Jedrick never felt out of place in Jonathan’s presence.
