Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 271
Chapter 271: A snake, devouring his entire family Chapter 271: A snake, devouring his entire family “What do you mean?
What’s wrong with me?” Blake queried, unclear of what his son was attempting to convey.
“Earlier, I saw Roger bring you to your room?
You didn’t look as well,” he inquired, his mind full of worry.
“Oh, that, I tricked him,” he answered, putting his concerns to rest.
“But how come you’re here?
You haven’t been home in months.
Your mother misses you, and so do I.” Blake would never voice his feelings, but after all these years, he recognized how his domination alienated his children, particularly his now-only son, who distanced himself from him simply because he joined hands with Jedrick.
Yes, the guy funding them was none other than Jedrick, and Kaden refused to take over the business because he despised him for ruining his sister’s life.
She left him because of that man.
If he had actually liked her, perhaps things would have been different.
But that man turned out to be a snake, devouring his entire family and capturing the land all on his own.
Jedrick was vicious, and he would not hesitate to kill his own parents, the ones who gave them a family and a reputation.
Who adored them as if they were their own.
He was a monster disguised as a human, and it was time to put an end to him.
Kaden looked down and took his father’s hand.
He could have been unhappy with him, but he never disliked him.
They had differing thoughts and opinions, which resulted in him moving out of the house and refusing to join the family business.
He knew what his father was getting into, and his peace of mind and morals that would never allow him to do wrong led him down a new route to join forces.
Erna’s desire was to see him accomplish what he enjoyed, and his enthusiasm for him had led him to where he is now.
He had been completely unaware of what was going on with his parents and had made few visits to them throughout the years.
But after learning of his sister’s death, everything came crumbling down.
He was outraged when Jonathan refused to attend her burial and warned them not to contact them again.
It was sad, but they realized they had no right to see their daughter no matter what happened.
But then, one day, Kaden received unexpected news: his sister had been attacked and had never died of disease.
Everything was setup to mislead them, and the perpetrator was Jonathan, her own husband.
However, when he dug more, he found there was more to this deceit, and Jonathan was hiding something bigger than they could think.
That was why he was here: to keep an eye on Jonathan, as he was the key to his purposes.
Kaden was going to confront his father when he heard footsteps approaching and hurriedly stood up.
“What are you doing here?” Who gave you permission to come in?” Roger’s brow wrinkled as he saw the staff member enter the room without permission.

However, before he could question, Blake intervened.
“I called him,” Roger said, casting a dubious look at Blake.
“I ended up puking in the bathroom.
So I called him to clean it,” he lied.
Roger stared at the man, who had his head bowed, making it difficult for him to see his face.
“Don’t worry, he’s cleaned it.
So now you can go.
Blake instantly dismissed Kaden, who walked away before bowing to them.
Roger continued to look at the man skeptically, unable to set his mind at ease.
“What did the doctor say?” Blake’s words interrupted Roger’s thoughts, and he turned to face his employer.
“Oh, he wanted me to give you this medication.
“It will help with the migraine,” he replied, offering the pill box to Blake.
Blake continued to act indifferent in front of Roger, ensuring that his actions did not cast any doubt on him.
He swallowed the pills and drank the water without hesitation.
“I’d like to rest now,” Blake replied, and Roger exited his room.
Meanwhile, outside, Kaden hurriedly walked across the corridor, making sure no one was following him before entering the elevator.
He had just managed to get out without being caught.
However, thanks to his father, he was not alone in his escape.
He came for something different.
When he arrived here as a replacement for Franklin, he had no idea he would meet Eveline and Gabriel, who were also looking for Jonathan.
It was odd, yet their comments attracted his attention, as Eveline urged the receptionist to tell her about her father.
Kaden questioned what had prompted Eveline to hunt for her father, but after surreptitiously monitoring them, he discovered that Jonathan had been staying in this hotel while he claimed her to be out of town.
She went there to confront her father, only to depart after a short time.
However, that wasn’t the only thing; after she departed, he seen a man step into the same room and emerge after a while, only to pay someone from the staff for holding Eveline and Gabriel inside the lift.
It was then that he discovered Jonathan was deceiving his daughter, and he determined to have her noted.
He knew Eveline would find out who it was, and that is exactly what occurred.
She did really come to look for him, but he couldn’t afford to meet her right now.
Not unless he can get to the person he’s been protecting all along, who is within that room.
As the elevator door opens, Kaden is greeted by the head of the staff, who swiftly informs him to check into room 1003.
His eyes gleamed brightly, and he immediately followed his orders.
Kaden’s heart was racing inside his chest.
It was the same room where Jonathan was staying, and knowing that the man had just departed, he finally used the opportunity to enter the room.
Ding!..
Kaden approached the room and knocked.
“Room Service” he said, staring at the screen and waited for the person inside to open the door for him.
Several seconds passed, and…
Click.
His eyes widened as he looked at the lady in front of him, and his lips quivered in surprise.
“Please come inside,” the lady urged, but he was too shocked to move.
*** [Gabriel’s office] “Why did you bring me with you?
You should have dropped me home,” Eveline said, sitting on the whirling chair and taking a tentative look around.
Back then, she didn’t get to see his workplace, which was as drab and sophisticated as Gabriel’s.
She couldn’t help but wonder why he liked dark colors over bright ones. But then her eyes caught something and she turned to see Gabriel.
“Why would keep our photo here?” She inquired, recalling a photo made during their visit to an amusement park.
They had entered a photo booth to take those shots, and they had suddenly calmed down so well.
Gabriel gazed at her for a second before returning his attention to the file in front of him and shrugging.
“I need to keep the girls away from me.
You know I have many eyes watching at him.” “…” Eveline pinched her brow, annoyed by his words, but then he pointed outside the glass wall, where she noticed the female employees sneaking glances at him.
Unable to bear their admiring attention, Eveline grabbed the remote and pressed the button to close the blinds.
Thud.
“Now they won’t” she murmured, gritting her teeth and crossing her hands.
Gabriel leaned against his chair, delighted by Eveline’s reaction.
He had no idea she would be the jealous one.
But the sight of her was enjoyable to witness.
“What?
Do you want them to stare at you?
Do they get paid for nothing?” She scoffed, feeling a twinge of envy as she remembered their swooning eyes on her man.
If it hadn’t been his workplace, perhaps she would have shown him where he truly belongs.
But never mind, this warning was enough to keep their eyes on themselves.
“No, I do not.
But if you agree to be possessive of me, I’m willing to claim you in front of the entire world,” he continued, and she clicked her tongue.
“You’ve already claimed me.
Did you forget about the event we attended last month?
We were all over the news channels and newspapers.
So it isn’t as if they are unaware that you are already taken.
But they still try to swoon over you,” she said, glaring at the drawn drapes.
Gabriel smiled and rapidly made his way towards Eveline, shocking her with his sudden appearance.
His hand slid around her waist, and she was hoisted and placed over the table in a matter of seconds before he threw everything off.
Eveline gaped at the sight of his dark eyes, but his lips twisted into an enticing smile, and he took her mouth unexpectedly.
“Gabriel…umm…we are in your office…umm,” Eveline whispered between kisses, hoping to keep him from going nuts.
“So what, didn’t you want them to know whom I belong?” He said, and she stopped speaking because he didn’t give her the opportunity to say anything else as his mouth proceeded to consume her earnestly.
