In that case, who is it, yours or mine, because I don’t mind taking you to my house?” he asked, tilting his head slightly.

Eveline slapped his arm and overheard him laughing.

“What?

You agreed to do it at home,” he murmured, and she pushed himself away before getting down from the table.

“We’ll see,” she replied, turning to face him.

“You can not go back on your words, Eve.

I need confirmation,” he said, and she rolled her eyes at him.

“Why are you being so pushy?” She whined, and he quickly drew her by the waist until their chests met.

“Because of your lack of clarity.

Yes or no?” With serious eyes, he asked.

“Are we going to argue over this?

Seriously Gabriel?” she asked, her eyes glaring at him.

“Answer me first.

You can not turn me on with your actions and then make me wait like this,” he said, slowly bringing his face closer to her.

Eveline held her breath as he pressed his nose against her skin, tracing down to her neck.  Gabriel inhaled her intoxicating fragrance, flushing her against him.

When that was not enough, he brushed his lips against her skin, prompting her to exhale.

I do not want to contradict what you said, but I can take you right here, you know.

So, is it your home or mine?” He brought his face back to her level and looked directly into her eyes.

Eveline’s face flushed crimson, and her lips parted at the sight of his deep, penetrating eyes.  “You realize you are being needy,” she muttered, attempting to divert his attention.  “Do not go on your words, Eve, or I will do what I have to,” he said, his voice deep and sultry with desperation.

Eveline’s lips curled into a playful grin, and she leaned in closer, placing her face next to his ear and whispering.

“You can not because I am on my period,” she said, and he looked at him incredulously.

“You what?!” he inquired, and she stepped back, her arms crossed over her chest.

“You have heard it right, baby.

So we can not do it for a week at least,” she said before returning to her chair.

Gabriel stood there like a dumbfounded fool.

His entire buildup has gone downhill.  Eveline had relaxed so much that her cramp had stopped resurfacing.

It was painful, but she could now bear it.  “That is not fair,” he said, feeling like a blown-up balloon.

Eveline laughed at his fallen face and watched him return to his seat sullen.

“By the way, I have some good news for you,” Gabriel said, seizing the smile on her face and she straightening her seat like a curious kid.

“Good news”  “Yes”  “What is it?” she inquired, feeling a little intrigued but more nervous.

“In official terms, Miss Ella is now Stefan’s girlfriend.” Eveline was so shocked that she hurried to call Ella.

Gabriel smiled at her eagerness before returning his attention to the file.

While Eveline was speaking with Ella on the phone, Gabriel received a call from Stefan.

“I thought now that you have a girlfriend, you would spare me,” Gabriel teased, prompting Stefan to scoff.

“In your dream.” Stefan said dramatically, “Did you forget you are my first love, and first love cannot be forgotten?” Gabriel’s lips twitched in annoyance.

“You better not say that, or I will come over and punch you.”  Stefan chuckled as he heard Gabriel’s frustrated tone.

He might tease him, but he will always win.

“And I will let you, my beloved,” he teased.

“Stefan, if you called me just to eat my brain, I will hang up,” Gabriel warned, prompting Stefan to put an end to his mischief.

“Stop, do not hang up,” Stefan said, and Gabriel leaned back in his chair, a triumphant smile creeping across his lips.

“Tell me, why did you call me?” he inquired, and Stefan’s playful demeanor instantly changed to serious.

“You recall Uncle Jonathan and Uncle Richard visiting Country K to sell a property there.

What was that place?” He inquired.

Gabriel paused for a moment, then said, “It was a bar, Horizon hopes.

But why are you interested in it?” he asked.

Stefan reflected on what he had discovered, but since he could trust Gabriel with his doubts, he decided to speak.

“I discovered something about that place.

It was one of the Miller’s properties, and Jedrick was a frequent visitor” Gabriel furrowed,” So?” “I found something else?” He said, setting a curious pace between them.

“Ella’s mother used to work there as a waitress,” he revealed, leaving Gabriel stunned.

“Does that mean Miss Steward knows Jedrick?” Gabriel asked.

“I probably believe so, but there is a catch.

She left working there after some time and returned to her hometown to marry her boyfriend, Ella’s father, and the rest you know what happened.” Stefan had been working on gathering information about Michelle since Ella announced that she had to find her father.

She wanted to be certain that whatever Priscilla sprouted was not entirely true, but she made an exception by waiting to confront her mother.

But, in the meantime, he decided to do his part of the job, which was to delve deeply into her life back then.

It was surprising that he did not have to struggle to get into the details, but it was also surprising to learn that she was somehow related to Jedrick.

“That is interesting,” Gabriel said, rubbing his chin in agreement.

“Do you think they must have known one another?” Stefan enquired.

“I believe so because if Jedrick was the boss and Michelle worked there, there is a chance they know each other.

However, I still advise you to let Ella speak with her mother,” Gabriel suggested.
