Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 285
Chapter 285: They want to meet mom Chapter 285: They want to meet mom Everyone flocked around Erna, gazing at her as if she were the sixth wonder.
It felt like an illusion to see her seated in front of them alive.
No one spoke as they processed what they were seeing until someone broke the stillness.
“Aunt Erna, do you know who I am?” Everyone looked at Stefan, and he gave them an innocent facial expression.
Pak!
“You think she has lost her memories to not recognize you, Stefan?” Nancy slapped her son for asking such a silly statement.
Erna never forgot about them, and no matter how long it had been, she could recognise the youngsters with her eyes closed.
“Ah…Mom I was simply trying to help, okay.
You guys aren’t saying anything, and when I say something, you slap me,” Stefan complained, massaging his face, which had turned red from the impact of her fingers.
“Aww, my poor baby, come here, Aunt Erna will scold your mother for hurting you.” Stefan’s eyes welled up with tears as he dashed to her bed and hugged her.
“Be careful, young man,” Jonathan cautioned from the side, and Stefan reluctantly pulled back.
“Oh, I’m sorry,” he said, his eyes flooded with tears.
Stefan loved Erna as much as he did Belle, and he felt like he was losing a piece of himself the day he found out about Erna’s passing.
However, for Eveline, he swallowed his anguish and resolved to be the responsible brother Erna had always desired, seeking for her whenever she needed him.
“Honestly, you youngsters haven’t grown up.
You still cry a lot, Stefan.” Erna joked about lightening the mood.
“Aunt Erna, do you know me?” This time it was Daniel who raised his hand like a kid in attendance, only to be met with a sneer from Stefan.
“What?
Don’t stare at me that way, okay?
I was only one, so it’s improbable she remembers me.” Daniel exclaimed, challenging Stefan’s icy stare, and his gaze returned to Erna.
“I know you, Daniel.
In reality, I never forget anyone.
Jonathan always kept me informed about everyone of you.” Erna smiled, motioning for Daniel to sit next to her.
Everyone was delighted to see Erna back.
A life without her was like one without stars or the moon.
She was the light in their lives, illuminating even the darkest nights.
“Though I’m unhappy with Jonathan for keeping us in the dark.
However, I’ll confront him later.
But first, let me meet my friend,” Belle remarked, moving towards Erna and hugging her.
Nancy, who was also in tears, ran towards them as Erna motioned for her to come closer, and they all hugged.

While the ladies elected to spend some time with Erna, the older men went to the study, while the remainder relaxed into the guest room.
“I’ve already informed Uncle Kaden about the shift, but they still want to meet Mom, especially her parents, who are too shocked to believe the truth,” Eveline stated, taking a seat next to Gabriel.
“Your uncle is very cool.
I learned from my brother that he is undercover and works for the force.
Damn, he is similar to a player I play on PlayStation.
It will be fun to learn combat from him,” Daniel said.
“Only if he is available.
Didn’t you hear he frequently moves locations?
Is it possible for you to spare a meeting with him?” Stefan said as Daniel rolled his eyes at him.
“But what about that Roger guy?
Is it conceivable that he is unaware of their motive?” Gabriel ignored the jokes and revealed a significant defect.
Eveline was also thinking about it, but because Kaden planned on living with his parents for the time being, there will be no problem whether Roger becomes suspicious or not.
It will be Kaden’s perspective that diverts his attention.
“I’m sure Uncle Kaden has already looked through it.
But, Mom, is she prepared to meet them?
She asked.
“I think so she is because I unexpectedly happened to eavesdrop your mother inquiring about her father while we walked out to leave them alone.” Gabriel replied.
It was not his aim to secretly overhear them, but the timing coincided, and he overheard them discussing Blake.
Suddenly, everyone noticed Gabriel had gone silent.
“What happened?” Stefan inquired.
Gabriel clicked his tongue when a concept came to mind.
However, he refuses to express his thoughts aloud.
“Nothing,” he replied.
As everyone fell silent again, Stefan decided to phone Ella instead.
She needed to know the cause for his departure.
So, taking a minute, he strolled out onto the balcony and called Ella, who responded quickly, as if she was expecting him to contact her.
However, as he heard her weep quietly, his demeanor clouded.
“What’s wrong, Dove?
“Why are you crying?” he inquired, concerned.
Ella was meant to be with her mother, enjoying quality time, but hearing her sobbing made him wonder whether she confronted her.
“Stefan, she’s not ready to tell me his name.
She refuses to say anything,” Ella said, her voice wavering and sad.
It felt like she’d been crying for too long, and the thought of her being alone during her difficult time made Stefan’s heart clench in sorrow.
However, he understood she had to be strong to face her mother, no matter how hard she pushed them to tell the truth.
Stefan had anticipated it, knowing that Michelle would never want to hurt Ella since she knew the truth would leave a mark on her heart.
Both were trying to protect each other.
So he began gathering information on her life, thinking that it might take them some time to reach a conclusion, but aside from the fact that she worked at the bar, nothing substantial fell into his hands.
However, he would not stop there.
He would keep looking for answers just so Ella wouldn’t lose hope.
“Give her time, Dove.
Didn’t you say you’re both equally protective of each other?
She is doing the same thing, and pressuring her will just make things difficult for you two.
Now, stop crying, or I’ll have to come there and silence you with a harsh kiss.
Three pairs of eyes watched Stefan’s activities as he tried to persuade Ella on the phone.
He gave him an odd look because he wondered why he was being so cheeky.
But who cares?
He never saw their gaze on him.
“Why is he acting like he’s possessed by a ghost?
How can he appear romantic with that stupid smile on his face?” Daniel asked, his shoulder quivering at the notion of never becoming like Stefan.
“Just as you act in front of Gracey.” Daniel rolled his eyes at Gabriel’s comment, “I’m sure you’re the worst.” “And what about you?
Ha!
You are not any less capable of acting like a sick dog.
We’ve seen you go from grouchy to completely plushie.
So just avoid judging, okay?” Eveline, who saw the two brothers throw daggers at each other through their eyes, could not help but sigh.
“Okay, now stop drilling holes into each other’s souls and let’s think about how we should expose Jedrick before he plans another attack.” They may have managed to avoid Jedrick’s current attack, but that doesn’t imply he will stop right here.
Someone who carried such a grudge against her parents was unlikely to abandon his revenge scheme.
“Guys, I need to leave,” Stefan said, drawing their attention to him as they watched him make his way back into the room.
“But whatever you were about to discuss, let know it too,” added the man.
Eveline nodded in agreement and watched him leave the room.
Stefan left Miller House and headed to Ella’s house.
He didn’t just go inside the home; instead, he asked her to come down while he waited for her in his car.
Ella might have agreed, but he knew he wouldn’t be at rest unless he had a concrete confirmation.
Sitting in the car, his gaze was drawn to the door, and shortly a slim figure emerged.
A smile spread over his lips as he saw her approach the car and quickly get inside.
“I told you I was okay.
You should’ve-” He didn’t let her finish her sentence and drew her into his grip.
Stefan had noticed her slightly puffy eyes, and her voice was scratchy from sobbing.
That was enough for him to take her into his arms and convince her that he was there for her.
Ella buried her face into his chest.
His warmth helped her forget about all of her worries.
She didn’t say anything and just remained in that moment of peace.
“Do you want to go somewhere?” Stefan inquired, and she nodded hesitantly, withdrawing from his grip, but before she could return to her seat, she was quickly hoisted up and seated in his lap.
Ella gaped as she didn’t anticipate Stefan to act like that, only to see him peck her lips, wash away all her confusion, and drive them to a specific location.
