“We were running low on cash, and the dealer only agreed to give us the drug if we brought money.
I attempted to steal it from Mom but failed, and on my way there, I noticed you walking out of your shop and riding away somewhere.
It was then that I summoned them to follow you.” Stacy’s voice became hoarse, and she continued to wriggle her fingers impatiently.
It was heartbreaking to watch such a young girl in such a vulnerable situation.
However, it was evident that she had lately been exposed to drugs; otherwise, they would not have been able to calm her.
“How long have you been taking them, and who is the dealer you are negotiating with for the drugs?” Eveline inquired as soon as a thought crossed her mind.
It reminded her of Kaden’s remarks from earlier, and now that she saw Stacy, who fit the description of the youngster he mentioned, she couldn’t help but connect the dots, which led her to only Jedrick.
Gracey looked at Eveline, who shared a look with her.
Something about her remarks disturbed her, but she continued to let Eveline question her.
Stacy glanced at the girl with terror.
“Don’t be afraid; we’re here to help you,” Eveline said, leaning closer and holding her shaking hands.
Stacy felt a sense of tranquility when their eyes met.
“I don’t know who the person is, but he does visit the Retro bar on weekdays and one of the boy inside would go and collect the samples,” according to her.
Eveline takes heed of her remarks and pulls back.
“Let’s take her home and I am sure you know what you should do.” Gracey may have protected Stacy from facing charges, but that does not mean she will let her go like that.
Stacy was her sister’s age, and the mere notion of her becoming addicted to drugs shattered her heart.
“Please don’t tell my parents,” Stacy asked, suddenly worried.
Gracey gazed at the girl.
She could tell she was afraid, but there was no guarantee that once she left, she would not associate with those boys again.
Gracey took a deep breath and joined her on the bench.
She placed her hand on her shoulder and prompted her to calm down.
“You are aware that you have been exposed to something that could become hazardous if not halted.
Stacy, you are still young, and your parents have goals for you that you are destroying by ruining your life.
Drugs will do nothing except injure you, and if you do not want your parents to see their daughter suffer, please accompany me.” There was no way Gracey would let her ruin her life.
“Gracey is correct; just think of your parents, who love you unconditionally.
Consider what would happen to them if they saw their offspring leading a life of devastation.
Stacy sobbed as their words struck the perfect chord.
She knew what she was doing was terrible, but she needed to recover from her traumas.

“But they help me be calm.” Stacy screamed, covering her face.
Gracey and Eveline shared a sorrowful expression.
They knew it wouldn’t be easy, but she was still young and had many options for healing herself, but using medications was never an option.
Gracey and Eveline couldn’t let her continue to damage herself, and after a lengthy conversation, they were able to persuade the girl and bring her to her house.
It was distressing to observe her mother’s heartbroken state while she continued to apologize to Gracey for her daughter’s actions.
Gracey knew Stacy was not at fault.
It was the addiction that prompted her to act that way, but she did advise her mother to keep an eye on her and encouraged her parents to resolve any problems they had because they were affecting their daughter.
Yes, continual disagreements and conflicts drove Stacy to the point where she was beginning to rely on substances, and before they lost their daughter to addiction, it was best to warn them about their behavior that led her to this step.
*** [Outside] “I’m glad we were able to handle everything,” Gracey exclaimed, but then something clicked in her mind, and she stared at Eveline with doubt.
“Why were you asking about the dealer?” She questioned, capturing Eveline’s attention.
Since it was no longer a secret, Eveline decided to be honest with Gracey and tell her she was skeptical the man was working for anybody other than Jedrick.
After hearing Kaden’s statements, she made an assumption.
But she was confident that if they found that dealer, they would be able to expose Jedrick’s wrongdoing in front of everyone.
“So what do you plan to do now?” Gracey enquired.
Her eyes were skeptically fixed on the girl, whose solemn demeanor bothered her.
“I will visit the Retro bar and find him myself.” Gracey’s jaw dropped at her declaration, and she snapped.
“You cannot!
What if they’re dangerous?” She questioned, her pulse racing in her chest as the beat reverberated in her ears.
Eveline noted the look of panic on Gracey’s face.
“I know they are, but I still need to find them in order to get to Jedrick,” Eveline stated with determination.
“No, no Eveline.” Gracey said in desperation, “I won’t let you go there alone,” which made Eveline stare at her in disbelief.
“Who said I will be going alone?” She shrugged easily, causing Gracey to halt on her words and blink.
“Then who are you going with?” She asked back, hesitantly.
“Of course you.” “…” “M-me?” Gracey stuttered, her mind still absorbing what she said.
Why me!?
Eveline didn’t see Gracey’s cluelessness because she was preoccupied with other thoughts.
She wanted to get through Jedrick, and she couldn’t wait for his movement, as Jonathan had stated.
If she were to vanquish her enemy, she must be two steps ahead of him.
That man was a walking time bomb, ready to explode at any moment, and waiting for him would be pointless unless they had a strong backup to keep him on his toes.
And tracking down his unlawful enterprise was the first step toward disabling him.
