Soon the waiter came with their order and as funny as it appeared, Gabriel was sipping water like it was the greatest source of claiming his nerves.

“I thought you need one to get your thoughts clear” Kaden said waving his drink before Gabriel and took a sip from it.

It wasn’t an everyday thing to share a conversation over drink, but after seeing Gabriel earlier Kaden felt the need to have one for himself.

“It hurt to know that someone dare to touch her and I wasn’t there to stop it ” Gabriel almost said in a low voice.

Yes he was infuriated with whatever Eveline did and he wanted to vent it on someone, but knowing how Marco ended up hurting her his anger spiked more and all he wanted was to confront the man before leaving him disable enough to even raise his pinky finger.

“But she carried on the plan without you, so she indeed had to face the consequence.” Kaden stated as a matter of fact.

By whatever he heard from Stefan it was indeed Eveline who didn’t wasted her time for waiting for Gabriel and instead went on with that idea of meeting Marco which indeed end her landing into trouble.

“And that’s where she went wrong.

She always promises to listen to me, but never actually does.

That’s why I am losing it because everytime she does that I feel incapable in her eyes.” Kaden was taken aback with Gabriel’s frankness, but more than that he was surprised to see how helpless he sounded when he said those words.

With what he understood till now was Gabriel loved Eveline a lot, which is why he would always stand in a the way of any harm to protected her.

But with what he was saying now made him realize that the fear of losing Eveline wasn’t something that came out of the blue or his instinct, but something that increased over time.

‘Did something happened between them that made Gabriel so fearful of losing Eveline that now it was consuming him’  Kaden knew he was thinking way too far, but after observing Gabriel he realized maybe he wasn’t wrong either.

“Have you every loved someone to the point that their mere existence define your worth.” Gabriel asked seizing Kaden’s attention and he moved his head in declination.

“No” “I did, but due to my cowardness and negligence I have lost her once and that fear creeps deeply into my soul that I never want to go through that pain again, because I don’t know if I can make it”  Kaden was speechless.

He just couldn’t fathom his thoughts over Gabriel claims.

Did something happened?” Kaden asked, his mind racing through Gabriel’s words that piqued his curiosity all of a sudden.

Gabriel on the other hand scoff.

He would never let anyone know about their rebirth, because it will only make him appear as a man who has lost his mind.

“I did, that’s why I don’t want to lose her again.” he said and Kaden furrowed.
