Daniel’s fumbled as soon as her words pulled him out of his stupor and he frantically reached to grab his phone and cut the call.

“Hehe, no one” he lied.

Belle wasn’t convince as she already head him having sweet talks on the phone call however she decided not to dwell on it as she had some other work with him.

Taking a deep breath she cleared her head and dive right into asking,” Where is Gabriel?

He hasn’t been home till now.

As soon as the door closed, Daniel release breath and quickly made a call to Gracey however she didn’t answer.

“Have they decided to ignore me all at once” he voiced in displeasure and tossed his phone aside.

Daniel had barely escaped his mother’s questioning, but for how long was he supposed to keep his relationship with Gracey a secret.

“No, I’ll have to tell mom and Dad about this, but before that I need to have a word with Gracey regarding the whole situation” he exclaimed while he continued waited for his brother, but soon after sleep took over his mind and he dozed off.

**** The day, Eveline woke up with dark circles around her eyes.

She had barely slept a wink as her thoughts were occupied by Gabriel’s negligence.

She knew she made a mistake and now he is back giving her silent treatment.

Pushing her tired body she sat on the bed and grabbed the phone resting next to her pillow.

She had been debating of calling him the entire night, but she couldn’t as her fears kept swirling in her mind and she didn’t wanted to upset him even more than she already did.

But now after the entire night of yes and no, she finally decided to drop the worries and face the problem instead.

Just when she unlocked her phone ready to call Gabriel, his call came through instead and she stilled blinking her confusion away while staring at his name.

‘What are you waiting for, Christmas’ her subconscious mind screamed and she quickly answered the call.

“Hello, Gabriel” she said a smile slowly forming on her lips only to get froze with his curlt response.

“Marco is awake, you uncle wants us to be there while they interogate him” Eveline heart sank at his coldness, however the words he said along made her agree instead.

“Okay.” She said disheartedly.

Eveline wanted to talk but Gabriel ended the call right away not even waiting for another word from her and that made her feel sad.

Tears welled in her eyes as the phone slipped from her ear and rested to her chest.

She realized how badly she messed up this time and with Gabriel’s coldness, she wondered how was she supposed to explain him this time.

Gabriel on the other hand closed his eyes and released a deep breath.

He then tossed the phone on the bed and started tying the tie while standing before the tall dressing table.

He had just finished dressing up and was ready to leave when Daniel stopped outside his door and exclaimed.

“Where have you been the whole night brother.

Mom and dad were asking for you” Gabriel stared at his brother who seemed sleep deprived and question.

“Don’t tell me they asked you to wait for me?

Is this why your eyes a swollen due to lack of sleep” Gabriel asked pointing at the under-eye bags.

Daniel released a deep breath and entered the room like a zoombei.

“Of course they did, but I ended up falling asleep in not time” he stated making his way towards the couch and slumped on it.

Gabriel shook his head in dismay as he watched Daniel yawn, ready to sleep on the couch.

He realized his parents were expecting to meet him after they learner about the unexpected meeting in the office.

Ignoring his sleeping brother, Gabriel walked out of the room and made his way to his parents room.

He knocked the door and once getting a response he walked inside.

“We were expecting to see you Gabriel, come have a seat” Belle said as soon as she saw her son and watched him follow her words and sit next to her on the couch.

“I heard the board of members took a offense to your decision of working with the Willows?” Richard asked, resting his coffee cup to the side and facing his son.

“They did, but I assured them that they aren’t a threat to the company as it’s still not proved that they are into illegal business.

It’s a rumor spread across that will eventually silence when we disclose working with them” Gabriel disclosed.

Richard nodded in understanding.

They had already anticipated it, but he believed his son would be able to silence everyone which is why didn’t argue much when he decided to work with Willows.

“And what do you plan to do next” Richard asked, his eyes keenly observing his soon.

Gabriel leaned back and draped his leg over other.

“But you know it’s hard.

The dirt you are trying to clean has set its mark and erasing them isn’t that simple” Belle voiced from the side.

“I know, but we have to start it somewhere and the first stop is washing away their reminisces from the Willow Group” Gabriel knew by offending Jedrick he had stepped into the circle of his most hated people, but he had to let him know that no matter what he does, he is still their enemy and giving in to his cruelty was a option here.

At least not with him and whatever he was trying to do in regards to Eveline, he will make sure to find everything and silence him once and for all.

“Then I guess we don’t have to worry much” Richard said as he eyed his son meaningfully and after sometime Gabriel left the house.
