Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 311
Chapter 311: Your father is not Uncle Jonathan Chapter 311: Your father is not Uncle Jonathan The next morning, Kaden planned to stroll into the cell to question Marco, but before he could do so, the phone in his pocket buzzed, and he answered it right away.
“Hello, Dad,” Kaden said, but Blake’s anxious voice cut him off in the middle.
“Kaden, your mother…
he…
he took her away” Everything fell silent as only his words echoed in his thoughts.
He quickly connected the dots and told his father that he would be home soon.
Without wasting a second, he told Luke to keep an eye on Marco and drove to the residence.
They were currently staying in one of Jonathan’s properties because they wanted to be close to Erna and her family in their old age.
Kaden assumed his parents were safe now that he had Roger under control, but one of his family members was taken away.
Kaden pulled over and hurried into the house, where Erna and Jonathan were already present.
The mood was tight, as was his father, who appeared extremely concerned.
The old guy burst into tears as soon as his gaze shifted to the main door and he saw him enter.
“Kaden, please save your mother.
Roger took her away.” Kaden frowned his brow.
“Roger?” He whispered, still unable to accept that Roger was the one who betrayed them.
But why wouldn’t he?
He was one of Jedrick’s personnel, and betrayal ran deep in their veins.
“Yes, he said he can’t do anything and has to follow Jedrick’s instruction or else he would have to kill your mom.” Blake revealed the horrible scene that unfolded in front of his eyes this morning, but he was too weak to fight him, so he gave him no opportunity and carried Ceceli away.
Kaden heard him and his gaze shifted to Jonathan, who appeared to share a contemplative expression with him.
“What have you done, Kaden?” he asked, silencing everyone around.
Erna frowned as she sensed the tension between the two men.
“What are you talking about, Jonathan?
Kaden, what did you do?” She questioned as her mind raced with Jonathan’s comments.
Kaden sighed.
He wasn’t intended to reveal the Marco situation, but now that Jedrick has made his move by taking away his mother, it would be irresponsible for him not to inform them of why all of this happened in the first place.
“We managed to captivate one of his most trustworthy men,” Kaden said, prompting Jonathan to arch his brow in surprise.
“We?
Who else is on your team?” He pressed the words, prompting Kaden to lower his gaze in contemplation.
“Eveline and the rest of the kids happened to hunt him, only to bring it to me for further investigation,” he revealed, stunning everyone.
Kaden never wanted to involve his family since he knew how delicate the Jedrick issue had been. They had just discovered calm, and pulling them into the chaos was not something he wanted.

Even though he had no idea what Eveline and the other kids were up to, when they asked for his help and told him about Marco, he saw it as an opportunity to bring down Jedrick’s unlawful business.
But he forgot that dealing with this man was not simple.
Jonathan had already warned him, but he still wanted to believe in his abilities and bring him down, but he never imagined Roger would be the one to backstab.
Suddenly, the phone rang, and everyone turned to look at Blake.
“I-it’s Jedrick,” he stuttered, his voice filled with dread.
Everyone was silent, and Kaden urged Blake to keep the phone on speaker.
When he hit the answer button, everyone heard a scary giggle, which enraged Jonathan and Kaden.
Erna clutched her chest, his words still sending shivers down her spine, but she managed to stay calm for her father, who was scared simply hearing his voice.
“Did you like my surprise?
Kaden?” Kaden exchanged a glance with Jonathan before refocusing his gaze on the phone.
“I know you’re there with your father, and I’m guessing your sister and my sweet little brother as well.” Jonathan’s brow wrinkled at his confident tone, and he looked around.
“What do you want, Jedrick?” Kaden inquired, unable to restrain his voice after nearly getting them correct.
“Kaden…I heard you were holding Marco captive.
I am not going to mince words.
Release him if you don’t want your mother to die,” Jedrick said, his tone tinged with dark irony that made them all serious.
He wasn’t the type to fool around, and they knew what he was capable of.
“Don’t think, Kaden.
Your mother does not have enough time.
The more you delay your decision, the worse it will be for your mother.” Kaden clinched his jaw at Jedrick’s provocative words.
This was the only reason he distanced himself from his family.
However, they were not actually safe.
BANG!
Everything went silent, and Erna shouted.
“Mom…” her heartbreaking voice made Jedrick chuckle.
“Erna, lovely Erna, that was not your mother.
But the one who betrayed me.
Poor Roger; he had to face the repercussions of backstabbing me.” Blake and Kaden were completely stunned by Jedrick’s brutality.
Jonathan didn’t know how long he’d been holding his breath.
But it indeed brought back those horrendous memories from his past.
“Now it’s your mother’s turn, Kaden.
Be quick or I’ll have to empty every bullet in her skull.
Time is ticking.” Jedrick was playing them, intimidating them and leaving little room for bargaining.
Kaden tightened his jaw as he found himself in a tight situation.
“Fine, I’ll bring Marco to you, but you need to let mom go.” Kaden spoke, then the phone went silent, leaving everyone wondering.
“Accepted; now be quick.
I am still not good with my patience,” he said as he stopped the call.
Kaden rose up to leave but was halted when he noticed Eveline standing before him, staring at him in bewilderment.
“Eve” Erna stood up, startled by her daughter’s unexpected appearance.
Eveline’s gaze flashed to her mother, who stood there silently crying.
“He took grandma, didn’t he and now he’s threatening to kill her if you don’t give him Marco,” she said.
“Eve, you don’t have to-” Jonathan approached her and gripped her shoulders.
“But dad, he’s threatening to kill her,” she said, her eyes filled with grief.
“I’ll get Mom back.
So make sure you and the other kids don’t do anything that would alarm him,” Kaden advised Eveline, looking at her sternly.
He didn’t want to risk anything just now, but he was on his way to plan his movements.
He didn’t want to let Jedrick go so easily, but he also needed to be cautious about what he did.
Kaden left the house after giving his family a reassuring glance, while Eveline stared at his departing form until he was gone.
“Everything will be fine,” Erna promised her father, sharing a meaningful gaze with Eveline and Jonathan; yet, no matter how much she attempted to calm the situation, they would not be at ease unless they saw Cecelie in front of them.
**** Eveline entered her room and instantly called Gabriel, informing him of Jedrick’s motivation.
Gabriel was immersed in thought, his lips pushed into a thin line.
“Gabriel, say something?” Eveline spoke out, since his silence bothered her.
Kaden had told them not to make a move, and Eveline trusted him, but the thought of Jedrick acting on his words worried her.
He wasn’t a man of his words, and as I learned how nasty and merciless he could be, my terror grew.
“Eve, I lied to you earlier about the health check-up,” Gabriel abruptly revealed, leaving her astonished.
“W-why?” she said, and the line became silent for a few seconds.
“I wanted to confirm something, and now I’ve learned the truth,” he continued, prompting her to frown at his perplexing remarks.
“Gabriel, please don’t talk to me in riddles, just be clear; I can’t get you” Eveline was not in the mood to rack her brain when things were already going sour with the anxiety swirling around.
“Just stay there.
I’ll be by your side,” Gabriel said, ending the call and leaving Eveline intrigued by his comments.
Since Erna and Jonathan were with Blake, Eveline was left alone in the house, and Gabriel soon arrived.
Eveline was anxious to know what he wanted to say, but the moment she saw how concerned he was, her heart fell.
Gabriel picked out the reports that mentioned DNA testing.
Her brow furrowed, and she questioned Gabriel with her gaze.
“That night at the penthouse, after you fell asleep, I got a call from an unknown number,” responded Gabriel.
“It was Jedrick, and during that call, he said something that shocked me,” he said, as she tightened her jaw.
“What did he say?” she said, gritting her teeth and clutching the papers firmly.
Gabriel lowered his gaze, his lips shaking as he attempted to explain his thoughts.
“Tell me, Gabriel.
Did he warn you about joining hands with the Willows?” She inquired since it was the only reason for her to pursue Gabriel at this time, as he had managed to kidnap the only person he could control in order to continue his illicit activities.
“No, he did not threaten me,” Gabriel claimed, shaking his head and slowly raising his gaze to meet hers.
“He stated that no matter how much we try to stop him, he will not spare anyone.
He stated he was here to get his daughter.” Eveline was bewildered as the word daughter raced through her mind.
Unknowingly, her hands began to unfold the paper in her grasp, and she lowered her gaze.
“And the one he claimed as his daughter is you, Eve,” the words left her speechless as her gaze stayed fixed on the results of her and Jonathan’s blood tests, which did not match.
It stated negative in large letters.
“Your father is not Uncle Jonathan, but his brother Jedrick.” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS akshaya_vanne Thank you Inisha1981 for the golden tickets.
