Chapter 312: It’s all a lie!
Chapter 312: It’s all a lie!
Jedrick ended the call and turned to face Roger, who lay on the floor still.
He then turned to the elderly woman, who shivered under his ferocious stare, and smiled manically.
Ceceli, who had never experienced violence before, was deeply affected by seeing a shooting.
“Clean this place.
I don’t want my aunt Ceceli to be afraid,” Jedrick said before leaving the room.
Rick followed suit, and they soon arrived at the main office, where Jedrick stepped forward and took his seat on his throne.
“What if Kaden doublecrosses us?” Rick asked, prompting Jedrick to give him an angry glance.
His eyes sank as he realized he had offended his boss, but rather than criticizing him, he heard him click his tongue.
“He won’t because he already knows what I am capable of and…” He crossed one knee over the other and lit a cigar for him, immediately taking a big drag and blowing out, “Even if he did, just kill the old lady.
She lived long enough.” His statements were essentially casual instructions, devoid of any emotion for the elderly lady.
Nonetheless, Jedrick had always been too cruel to care for anyone.
Jedrick continued to drag off the cigar before pulling up his sleeve to check the time.
“Let’s go.
We can’t keep him waiting.” Jedrick rose up and exited the room, tossing the remaining cigar.
**** Eveline staggered to her feet after the paper she was holding slipped, but Gabriel’s quick reflexes caught her.
Her heart and mind were both devastated.
She felt nothing but numbness as his words flooded her head, and her entire body began to tremble.
“T-This cannot be Gabriel.
These reports were fabricated.
I cannot be his daughter.
I’m Jonathan Miller’s daughter.
All of these are lies.” Eveline felt a wave of panic flow through her heart, and she refused to trust his words or the abandoned documents on the floor.
Gabriel helped her get settled on the bed, but she kept mumbling the same things.
“I cannot be his daughter.
He isn’t my father.
It is all a lie.” Gabriel knew it was unbelievable, but they couldn’t refute the fact that their DNA did not match.
He knew Jedrick could manipulate people, but his allegation stuck with him.
He remembered that in a previous life, Eveline’s father suffered financially, and the person who targeted him was an unknown personality.

He lost numerous projects and a few shares, so his father decided to step in and support his pal.
Though it wasn’t completely concealed, he’d noticed them uptight most of the time when problems with the company arose.
He understood the only person targeting Jonathan was Jedrick.
He pursued him because, at the time, he, too, desired his daughter and wanted to ruin his brother for stealing everything from him.
And somewhere inside, he questioned whether the person who shoved him off the terrace was indeed him.
Gabriel took a deep breath and mounted his arm around Eveline, bringing her closer to his heart.
He tried to calm her, only to hear her cry even more.
Gabriel understood how difficult it was, but they needed to hear it from her parents.
If Jedrick was about to take Eveline away, they had to stop him.
They didn’t give him the option of destroying everything just to claim someone.
He was convinced that even if Eveline were his daughter, she would refuse to accompany him.
“I need to talk to Mom and Dad.
I need to confront them about Jedrick’s nonsense.” Eveline pushed away and stood up, planning to leave the house, but Gabriel stopped her.
“I don’t think it’s the right time, Eve.” Eveline paused in front of the door, her hand on the handle.
She realized she had been overwhelmed by the enormous emotions that swirled around her heart like a hurricane, but Gabriel’s words were enough to calm the storm, and she was finally able to lay her feelings to rest for the time being.
Gabriel relaxed as she took her hand back and sat down on the bed.
She didn’t say anything, but Gabriel could sense what was on her mind, and he went to sit next to her to save her from hurting her like that.
“I am here if you ever want to rant, Eveline, but don’t lock yourself down because we lacks knowledge of the real truth.
It’s merely a piece of information we managed to collect just because Jedrick dares to speak about it after all this time when he finally observed meeting his dead ends.” Eveline nodded, her lips trembling at the thought of his words, and her eyes welled up with tears as she leaned against his shoulder and wailed softly.
**** An SUV came to a halt in front of the Abondon Mills Factory.
Kaden waved as he examined the area, and Luke unlocked the door, bringing Marco outside.
Kaden took mental note of the number of people Jedrick had brought with him, which was substantially more than his team, which had only four members before entering the building.
As soon as he came into the enormous hall, his gaze was pulled to Jedrick, who was already present with his most trusted companion, Rick.
When their eyes met, Kaden scoffed.
During their brief encounter, he exchanged a silent message with the man before shifting his gaze to Jedrick and coming to a halt.
“I knew you would not let your mother die.
So I think it was a good move on my part; after all, I was dying to cause trouble for the family now that your father had decided to flee from my shadow.” Jedrick laughed with a straight face, causing Kaden to frown at him.
“If I had known what kind of man you were, I would’ve killed you right there, Jedrick,” Kaden said, only to see the muscle on Jedrick’s face flex into a mocking smirk.
“You weren’t smart enough to know me, Kaden, but you’re impressing me with your wit.
You dug deep enough into my life to interrupt almost all of my work.
You did an amazing job in preventing the ladies from being shipped overseas.” Jedrick wasn’t the one who carried out the human monitoring deals, but rather an investor who profited from them; nonetheless, once Kaden exposed them and destroyed the location, he understood the man wouldn’t stop unless he handed over everything he had built.
“I know you’re in charge of the largest mafia organization, but don’t worry, you’ll be left with nothing soon,” Kaden remarked aloud, but this had little effect on Jedrick.
“You are the ant that I can still step on, but you know I am not the type of person who will not give anyone a fair shot at fighting me.
And after knowing you long enough, I think it will be wonderful to see you ruin me.” Kaden continued to look at Jedrick before tilting his head slightly, indicating that Luke would shortly drag Marco before them.
“I brought your man; now, bring me my mother,” Kaden said.
He hadn’t seen a hint of his mother’s safety until Rick signaled one of his guys to fetch Ceceli.
Kaden’s pulse beat when he recognized his elderly mother.
“Mom,” he yelled out, telling her that he would take her back.
Ceceli, on the other hand, is holding back her tears.
She just wanted them to leave because the previous occurrence had terrified her.
Kaden said, “Let her go,” but Jedrick resisted.
“Not like that, my boy.
You sent my man, and I sent your mother.” Jedrick proclaimed a deal, leading Kaden to tighten his jaw.
He scowled at the man, who smirked in response.
Kaden turned his head to the side and urged Luke to let Marco go, then quickly released him.
Marco looked at the two before taking a step forward.
His eyes shined when he saw Jedrick, who smiled back.
As soon as they let go of Marco, he freed Ceceli, who walked to the other side near Kaden.
Kaden’s heart grew heavy with each step.
He never glanced away from his mother till she reached his side.
Jedrick inclined his head, gesturing for Kaden to depart, and he did as he implied.
Kaden, Ceceli, and Luke turned to leave, but before they could reach the door, the phone rang, signaling them to fasten their steps.
“BASTARD, YOU TRICKED US.” Jedrick’s shout echoed within the hall, stunning the retreating figure, and shortly a gunshot rang out in their direction.
“Don’t let them go,” Jedrick yelled, drawing his revolver and pointing at Marco.
“You betrayer, how can you tell them everything?” Marco swallowed, but before he could respond, a bullet flew through his brain, causing his corpse to fall to the dusty ground with a loud thud.
“Luke, take mom to the car,” Kaden cried, hastily hiding behind a pillar and shot at the individuals who were attacking them.
The gunfire had already alerted the other of the team members inside the automobile, and they instantly engaged in protecting their leader, while Luke made sure to carry Ceceli into the car.
Kaden saw Marco’s corpse on the floor and continued to shoot at the attackers.
“Boss, you should leave.
We’ll handle them,” Rick murmured, shielding Jedrick, who was filled with wrath.
“I want him dead,” he cried, fleeing away as his men continued to attack Kaden and his squad.
However, they overlooked that the persons they were dealing with were not ordinary force members, but rather combatants in more perilous fights.
Kaden quickly murdered the men with his gun before making his way outside and approaching the car.
But before he could get inside, his eyes fell on Jedrick’s automobile, which attempted to pass them.
Squinting his eyes, he directed the gun at its target and fired bullets that thrashed the car on the road before getting inside and driving away with his mother.
