Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 313
Chapter 313: I already know the truth.
Chapter 313: I already know the truth.
Flashback After leaving the house, Kaden drove to the base and entered the cell, shocking Marco on his spot.
Kaden pulled out a chair for himself and sat down, looking directly into his eyes.
The man did certainly have luck.
Just as he felt he had him, his saviour stepped in with an offer that left him with no choice but to oblige.
“You are going back.” Marco paused for a while as Kaden’s words filled the room with uncontrollable laughter.
“What happened?
Weren’t you supposed to interrogate me?
But I believe we need to put this chat on hold, because we shall only meet before I kill you.” Marco’s eyes were filled with rage as the smile on his face waned, and he was now giving Kaden death glares.
“We’ll see if you can make it to that day.” Kaden leaned back in his chair, one knee crossed over the other, and played with the cell phone in his hand.
Marco’s lips twitched as he observed his tranquility and couldn’t stop himself from asking, “What do you mean?” Kaden shrugged.
“I wish being here you might have survived, but I doubt after handing you to your boss, he will let you live.” Marco felt shivers run down his spine.
He knew his boss wouldn’t do anything to him because he had been loyal the entire time and had never spoken against him.
However, Kaden’s assurance led him to doubt himself for not thinking otherwise.
He was familiar with Jedrick and his wacky ways, and for once, he couldn’t help but wonder if he was assuming things correctly.
What if what Kaden is saying is true?
“I d-don’t believe you.” He spat, glaring at Kaden, who groaned and sat up straight.
“You will believe me once you hear this,” Marco darted his gaze to the phone, where he heard Jedrick’s voice, leaving him stunned.
‘You think I’m crazy to risk everything for that useless addict Marco.
He did not follow my words and got himself hooked, but before he could divulge anything, I need to make sure that I am the one who erases his existence.’ Marco felt as if his entire universe had collapsed, and his eyes darted to Kaden in disbelief.
“Do you believe me now?
The boss to whom you’ve given your life intends to murder you, and you still believe you’ll be able to kill me.
I hope you recognize his voice,” Kaden scoffed.
“You fantasize a lot, Marco, but let me give you some advice.
Your boss is a snake that can bite anyone to defend himself, and that is exactly what he will do to you.
You may refuse to tell me anything, but that does not mean you are spared for life.
You will eventually die.” Kaden stated as a matter of fact, leaving Marcon in deep thinking.
He was still startled by Jedrick’s statements.
However, he could not deny that he wanted him dead at any cost, whether at the hands of the enemy or himself.

All his life he had been nothing but a loyal man, but after what he heard, he realized no matter how much you devote yourself to anyone, they will eventually backstab you.
“I will tell you everything,” Marco said abruptly, returning his gaze to Kaden’s shining eyes.
Present “Mom is still devastated over the incident.
It will take her some time to recover,” Erna explained as she sat next to Kaden and helped him clean the wound he had received.
“Why did you take such a risk, Kaden?
What if you are unable to make it?
What if Jedrick harmed you?” Erna expressed anguish when she observed her brother not even react as she sanitized the scratch caused by the gunshot on his arm.
Luckily, he was not harmed, but the bullet scraped his skin.
It still required basic treatment to heal.
“I’m OK, Sis.
Furthermore, we had to make it look convincing.
Trust me, I had everything planned, and even Mom is well.
Nonetheless, I urge you all to exercise caution.
With me provoking Jedrick by nearly ruining his plan, he will seek a bigger opportunity to return back the favor,” Kaden informed the two with a tone of sarcasm.
Jonathan’s expression hardened, and Erna took a deep breath.
He suddenly had a thought and asked.
“Are you sure?
It’s only Jedrick’s will, because even if he doesn’t get the share, he’s already acquired a business worth more than that property could contain.
So killing you does not make any sense.” Kaden gazed at the pair, who exchanged a look.
He had this thought bugging him, but he never chose to say anything until he actually met Jedrick in person and realized how powerful he was even without the money his father had taken from him.
“Sis, is there something I should know?” He inquired, sensing the couple’s growing anxiety.
Kaden thought Erna was too simple to read, but Jonathan was like a hard shell that had burst open.
But now when he saw the crease on his face at the mention of this particular issue, he knew something was being kept secret.
Erna looked at him pathetically, then glanced at Jonathan for confirmation.
“There is something I’ve kept hidden from everyone of you,” Erna announced, leaving Kaden uneasy in his seat and causing him to straighten slightly, looking at his sister warily.
“I lied to you all,” she said, and Kaden frowned.
Erna lowered her gaze, her heart racing with each breath she took.
The memories she wished to forget had been with her for years.
No matter how much she resisted it, she couldn’t get past that one moment that made her regret ever believing in him.
Kaden could see Erna’s distress as she whispered those words, and the more he waited, the lower his heart sank.
“Eveline is not my daughter.
She is Jedric-” Jonathan said, catching Kaden’s attention and leaving him shocked.
“H-how?
When?
I mean, how is this-” Kaden faltered, staring at Erna and Jonathan in bewilderment, but his blood quickly boiled and he dashed to his sister’s aid.
“Did he force himself on you?” he said, crouching before Erna.
His eyes were filled with wrath at the thought of breaching the line when they were engaged.
Erna shook her head.
“I couldn’t recall anything except that I was sleeping beside him the next day.
I only went there to apologize, and he forgiven me, but…” Her voice trembled as she remembered how he urged her to spend some time with him for the sake of their friendship, and then she couldn’t remember anything because they both had a lot to drink that night.
Erna planned to inform Jonathan, but Jedrick did something that shook them both to the core, and she fled to save herself, only to discover after their marriage that she was pregnant.
She assumed Jonathan would abandon her for whatever reason, but she was mistaken.
His love for her was stronger than any flesh and blood, and he didn’t care who it was because he fell in love with everything about her, and Eveline became the apple of his eye, which he didn’t want to share with his criminal brother.
“And he ended up taking advantage of you,” Kaden complained.
“You continue to believe it happened in the heat of the moment.
He was clearly trying to take advantage of you,” he said, pushing himself up to rise on his feet.
Kaden had always been intimidated by Jedrick as a child, and he never wanted his sister to marry him.
But as a kid, who was going to trust him?
“I believe this, too.
A crafty individual like Jedrick, who can influence the people around him, may also lie about being understanding.” Jonathan clenched his jaw.
He would never forgive Jedrick for putting everyone’s lives in danger.
He messed up with everyone to the point where no matter how much he suffers, no one will feel sympathy for him.
“Jedrick cannot be trusted,” Kaden remarked, glancing at the two.
“But you can’t keep hiding the truth from Eveline.” “I already know the truth, Uncle,” a voice said, drawing all of their attention to Eveline, who stood at the doorway, staring at them blankly.
Jonathan’s heart beat with panic, as did Erna’s.
“Princess you-” Before Jonathan could say anything, Eveline walked into the room, cutting his statements.
“I am here for answers, Dad, and when I say answers, I mean the real ones, not the ones you always give me.” She peered into her father’s eyes with such determination that he closed his mouth.
Eveline hurried to see Ceceli after learning that Kaden had successfully brought her back to the house, but while she was doing so, she observed the study room door slightly open and they were discussing Jedrick, which immediately caught her attention.
Eveline didn’t intend to overhear them, but she did hear them admit the truth about her identity as Jedrick’s daughter and how he ended up doing everything.
Erna and Jonathan grew silent, as neither expected Eveline to discover the truth.
But then the question was how?
“H-How did you-” Jonathan inquired, his voice trembling with hesitation as she gazed at his daughter, but then he remembered the warning he had received from Jedrick, and his eyes sank in realization.
“Gabriel found out about it,” she remarked, surprising everyone.
“Gabriel?” Erna expressed her disbelief.
“Yes.
Jedrick called Gabriel, who claimed I was his daughter and heran a DNA test to verify his suspicions.” Eveline said everything because she felt compelled to do so in front of them.
Her heart was still in turmoil, but she stood firm in front of them, knowing how difficult it was for them to finally confront her.
She didn’t blame them for concealing the truth from her, but she also didn’t expect to be the daughter of the man she despised the most.
