Chapter 315: Are you going to wait and see him destroy everyone?
The silence inside the room became thicker with every passing second.
While Jonathan’s attention remained fixed on the floor, Erna’s heart raced as she glanced at Eveline’s resolute expression.
“Jedrick wants not only me but also you.
He claims that we both belong to him and that he will do anything to destroy anyone who dares challenge him.” Eveline’s lips twitched and her fist tightened as she heard Erna’s response.
“That man was so nasty that he meticulously planned everything, knowing that everything would work out in his favor.
But when I refused to give up on any of you, it ended up bruising his ego to the point that he openly challenged us.” Jonathan spoke after a prolonged gap.
“I never want you to know who your father is, since you are and will always be my child.
I will do everything I can to keep you both by my side, even if it means sacrificing my life.” Eveline blinked away tears that threatened to fall.
She understood her father was never wrong in his place.
Despite the fact that she was not his blood, he accepted her wholeheartedly and was not afraid to face all of the difficulties that came with in return of his unconditional love.
“But how can I see you getting hurt, dad?” she asked, directing her gaze toward her father.
“You are ready to die for us, but how will I survive knowing the reason was me?” she vented.
“It will torment me all my life.” Jonathan shook his head.
“No, princess, never think like that.
I dedicated my life to you two from the moment I discovered I was going to be a father.
Without you both, my existence has no purpose,” he added.
“If Jedrick wants everything from me, then he can take it, but I am never letting you both part from me.” Jonathan sounded vulnerable, expressing his underlying fear at the prospect of being left alone without the people he cherished more than his life.
Eveline closed her eyes and let the tears fall.
She had no notion what she was meant to do right now.
But she was certain of one thing: she would always be Eveline Jonathan Miller and no one else.
“It’s me who is the reason why Jedrick went to lengths.” Erna burst into tears, condemning herself for putting this sorrow upon them.
“No, love, never say that,” Jonathan responded.
“Dad is right, Mom.
Knowing that you would be unhappy with Jedrick, you chose to end the engagement.
It was him who took it to his ego, never once considering even his brother had affections for you.” Eveline understood how tough it may be to want love from someone who presents the highest profile.
And when it’s returned, you’ll constantly want to be around them.
“But what happens now?
Jedrick won’t stop at anything,” Erna stated.

Her voice broke out in dread.
“I know and with Kaden pushing his button furthermore, he must be infuriated even more by now.
He will soon plan on getting back on us,” responded Jonathan.
“He will, but not right now, because he needs to clear the mess he has gotten himself into.
With all of his unlawful activities coming to light, I’m curious how he’ll come clean and explain himself,” Kaden added.
“By lying,” Eveline said, darting her gaze from her phone to the rest of the people before immediately walking to turn on the news channel.
“He played once again by putting all of the blame on Larson,” Eveline mumbled, leaving everyone stunned by the news they had just heard and seen on the TV.
“That is unbelievable,” Kaden exclaimed, startled.
He never expected Jedrick to distort the entire truth.
“Is this why he joined hands with them, knowing that one day he would use them as a sacrifice?” Eveline inquired, her gaze drawn to her father.
“Yes.
It was all planned,” he agreed, surprising her.
“And you knew it,” she inquired.
“I know Jedrick better than you want me to.
He is my brother, of course, and I am aware of how intelligent his mind is,” he stated.
“Larson knew what he was getting into, but in his greed, he agreed to collaborate with Jedrick and see what occurred.
The man now not only owns his company but he also dismisses him from the position, leaving him with nothing but disgrace.
He will not get out of jail anytime soon, and no one will ever work with him.
He is doomed.” Eveline turned off the screen and went back to her seat.
“So, how will we terminate him?
It now seemed impossible.
Eveline’s heart sank at the notion of never witnessing Jedrick’s demise.
Was there no way for them to see his defeat?
“Now that is something I’ve been trying to figure out for years, but I have yet to find an answer for now,” Jonathan stated nonchalantly, leaving Eveline perplexed.
“Are you going to wait and see him destroy everyone?” Kanden spoke.
He was taken aback by Jonathan’s cool demeanor in the face of chaos.
“No, since he is now alert and will take things carefully, and we will take advantage of his patience to counterattack him.
By the way, how did you like my surprise, Kaden?
It did definitely help you get Marco to spill everything.” Jonathan looked at the man, who was concerned about how Jonathan obtained the voice recordings.
But then he remembered his remarks from the past.
He had people working in the shadows for Jedrick.
Does that suggest one of them gave him the recording?
Kaden couldn’t talk, but Jonathan’s glance hushed him, and he nodded in response.
Eveline caught the two’s short glance and instantly enquired.
“What recording are you talking about?” she inquired.
“The one I used to fool Marco,” Kaden stated matter-of-factly before standing up to depart.
“Since you’re all here, I suppose I can leave for the base.” There is something I need to address with my colleagues,” he remarked, giving everyone an assuring glance before walking out of the study.
“So it means I get to stay here with you all too?” Eveline inquired, sharing a confused expression with her parents.
“Only if your man does not jump through your window,” Jonathan pointed out, leaving Eveline perplexed and clearing her mouth.
“Why would Gabriel do that?
He’s always invited to our house,” Erna answered innocently.
“You must want to witness, honey.
I am sure you will be impressed by his ability to sneak into your daughter’s room.” “Dad, please…” Eveline, unable to bear the awkwardness, immediately stood up to leave.
“Tell him you’re staying here and there’s no need to sneak into the room,” Eveline raced out, disguising her flushed expression, and closed the door.
After taking a time to calm herself, she walked to the room where her grandma was sleeping.
**** [Ella’s Place] Mischelle stared at the two persons seated across from her on the couch.
They hung their heads low and screamed about being caught.
“Please speak, my dear children.
Why did both of you lie to me?” Mischelle asked, leaning on the couch.
Her tone was forceful, and her eyes demanded answers.
Ella and Stefan exchanged a look, both anxious and hesitant.
Mischelle’s eyes followed their silent eye conversation.
She didn’t want to get involved in their situation, and if it was something personal, it wasn’t her place to demand that they communicate.
But, absolutely, lying was unacceptable.
“It is okay if it is something personal.
I understand, but the next time-“she” pointed at the two simultaneously and continued,” don’t lie and keep it clear.
Nobody is going to stop you.
Okay” The two nodded quickly, and she exhaled gently, getting up from the couch and going to the kitchen.
“Be fresh.
I’ll make something delicious for you to eat,” she murmured, coming forward, but as soon as she entered the kitchen, a pair of arms gripped her from behind, stopping her in her tracks.
“I love you, Mom,” Ella said, making Mischelle look to the side.
Her eyes were welling with tears, which startled Mischelle, who instantly turned to cup her face.
“Ella, dear, what happened?
I promise I am not upset with you.” Mischelle believed her earlier remarks had caused her to behave in this way.
She’d always been like this, coaxing her during times of difficulty.
Ella smiled softly, watching her mother grin.
“I know that you are not upset, but still, I want to tell you that I love you the most and I am glad that you brought me to this world and loved me endlessly.” Ella wanted to express her heartfelt gratitude to her mother, telling her how important she is to her and how she will always be grateful to be called her daughter.
Mischelle smiled, caressing her face, unable to grasp the whole meaning behind her words.
“Okay, go get changed.
I can’t keep you two waiting for dinner.” Ella nodded, letting go of her before turning to leave the kitchen.
Stefan stared at her as soon as she stepped outside.
His gentle frown caused her to wipe away her tears.
“We should change,” she remarked, and he nodded.
They quickly made their way inside the bedroom.
