Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 316
Chapter 316: You’re overstressing Chapter 316: You’re overstressing It was time to head back to college as the vacation was coming to an end.
During those two days, Jedrick didn’t make a move, and everything around them was tranquil for now.
However, that didn’t mean they would lower their guards.
Jonathan had his men guard both residences.
While Kaden was searching for leads to bring Jedrick down.
Eveline had yet to question about the recording Jonathan mentioned that night, giving a furtive look to Kaden, but she didn’t get the chance because her parents were now spending the majority of their time with her grandparents.
“I was wondering whether you wanted to take on an internship in my company.
I know it isn’t necessary, but you’ll need experience for your final year projects,” Gabriel added, watching her slide the top on and throw her hair out before styling her outfit.
He didn’t realize Eveline had such thick hair.
But seeing her get dressed before him made his heart leap with pride.
He couldn’t help but be thankful to have Eveline in his life.
She made it so lovely and alive that he was looking forward to meeting her.
“Dad asked me the same thing,” Eveline shrugged, turning to face the mirror and combing her hair before curling it into a loose bun.
Eveline rarely wore makeup, although she did enjoy perfumes, particularly ones given to her by Gabriel.
“And what are your…thoughts on it?” Gabriel inquired with caution in his grey eyes.
Eveline hesitated for a second, reflecting on his remarks.
She had yet to make a decision because she knew she needed to check up on a lot of information when it came to work.
Being a top student would be intimidating, but working in a firm was not easy.
So when Gabriel proposed the same to her, she recognized it would be easier to live with him and work for him because he would be a good guide for her.
“I believe I will look at your suggestion.
That way, we don’t have to stay away from one another, and you can improve my skills.” She winked, bringing a grin to his face.
Gabriel expected her to pick him, and when she did, he couldn’t stop himself from racing up to her and holding her.
“Oops…
slow down, baby,” Gabriel nuzzled her cheek and kissed her jaw.
“Say it again,” he prompted.
“Say what?” Eveline knew precisely what he wanted to hear, but she was now ready to play with him.
“That word which you said now,” Gabriel’s lips slid from her jaw to her ear, and he touched her earlobe, sending a shudder down her spine.
“Baby?” she said, her eyes taking in every emotion she made in the mirror.
Gabriel paused, the corners of his mouth curving into a triumphant smile.
“Yes, baby.
Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".
I like it when you call me that,” he mumbled, burying his lips in the crook of her neck and sucking hard.
“No, Gabriel.
You can’t leave a mark.
I need to go to college.” When she realized what was coming, she immediately spun around to face him.
Gabriel supported himself by putting his palm on the surface of the dressing table, his face quite close to her.
“I want everyone to know you’re mine,” Gabriel said with a hint of displeasure in his tone.
Eveline displayed the ring in her hand before him.
“They already know, so there’s no need to mark the territory because you already did, and this ring is proof,” she said, gently pushing him away and quickly getting ready to leave for the college.
The car came to a halt outside the campus, and Eveline was about to depart, but Gabriel stopped her.
“So it’s decided, you’ll be doing an internship at my company,” he stated, and she nodded before coming closer to him and kissing his lips.
Gabriel grinned as he saw her get out of the car and walk slowly towards the main structure.
He drove away after she accompanied her pals.
“How I wish you two joined us for the ride to Aspen every day.
It would be so nice to hear him talk throughout the drive,” Eveline added, staring at Daniel.
Since he and Gracey began dating, he has become a more mature man, spoiling his girl with all of the boyfriend activities that they rarely witness.
“You wish Eve because, as far as I know, brother would be pleased that I am no longer the third wheel and that he can spend time with you without interruption,” Daneil said, causing Eveline to nod in agreement.
“He does, but still, you are the best; remember that,” Eveline gave him the thumbs up.
“Okay, gals, I need to leave.
I’ll meet you in the canteen during break,” Daniel said, pecking Gracey on the cheek before walking away, leaving the two alone.
Eveline expected Gracey to die in shame, but instead she smiled weakly until Daniel disappeared upstairs.
“Is everything good with you, Gracey?
“You seem lost,” Eveline inquired, capturing Gracey’s attention.
She was debating but eventually decided to speak with Eveline.
“How should I say Eve?
Daniel’s mom almost found us talking during one night call, and now she demands to meet the girl he is interested in.” Gracey lost her composure, her eyes almost anxious about what would happen next.
“So, don’t you think it’s better if you meet her?
I mean, are you sure about Daniel?” Eveline inquired objectively.
“Of course I am, but the feeling of difference between our statuses twists my gut in different ways.
I can’t help but wonder what others will think of me.
I hope they don’t see me as an opportunist or someone who enticed a young lad to secure his fortune.” Gracey groaned as they slowly made their way to the classroom.
“I believe you’re overstressing Gracey.
I suppose you should quit watching those ridiculous series.
It’s ruining your mind,” Eveline laughed, only to receive a harsh frown in response.
“Seriously, why do you care what others say?
You love Daniel, and that is what matters; why bother about external matters when you know what you want?
Gracey found Eveline’s remarks soothing, and the way she presented them caused her to dwell on her own thoughts.
“I suppose you are correct.
I adore Daniel more than anything, and if living with him presents challenges, I am prepared to face them,” she said, bringing a grin to Eveline’s lips.
“That’s my girl.
And don’t worry, I’m sure you’ll love Aunt Belle since she’s so cool you won’t feel out of place,” she continued, calming her anxieties even more.
