Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 323
Chapter 323: Do you think he lied again?
Chapter 323: Do you think he lied again?
“And what makes you think so?” Ella questioned, breaking the calm.
Gabriel took a big breath, leaned forward with his hands clasped together and resting on the table, and spoke.
“Stefan told me you have a rare blood type, which you assume you got from your father, but Eveline’s blood group doesn’t match with any of them.” Eveline lowered her gaze, pondering this word.
They were like hammers pounding her chords, making everything around her jumbled.
“Do you think he lied once again about everything that happened with Aunt Erna?” Stefan’s voice interrupted Eveline’s thoughts.
Her eyes were now red as her thoughts began to clear, eventually erupting in wrath over the man’s name and his heinous plan to destroy their lives.
“I’m not sure unless I have specific evidence.
I happened to click on this when you mentioned Ella’s initial idea of finding her father through DNA,” Gabriel remarked.
“But you mentioned my dad’s blood group did not match mine.
In what way does that mean I am-” “No, Eve.
Don’t think that way.
I only want us to understand that Jedrick is a wrecked man who can twist his words to his liking.
So there is a possibility that he misled everyone.
Even your parents.” Eveline took a deep breath as a strange feeling crept into her heart.
Perhaps it would be better if she did not think anything outrageous that could be proven wrong.
But how were they meant to get their hands on the truth?
How can they prove it?
“I believe I can dig into some details now that Dad has decided to work with Larson,” Stefan stated, capturing Gabriel’s attention.
“What did you say?
“Is Uncle Marcus okay with us moving forward with this project?” he inquired, and Stefan gave a dejected nod.
“But now that I think we have a chance to know Jedrick personally and I am sure I can manage to get my way into his life somehow,” replied Stefan.
Gabriel gave him a suspicious look, which Stefan disregarded, confirming his displeasure with the arrangement.
But, since it was Uncle Marcus, he wasn’t supposed to think about it before nodding.
“Perhaps we should leave.
I can’t let Mom be alone.
She might be awake by now,” Ella said, looking at her wristwatch.
They left the house since Mischelle was asleep, assuming they would return shortly.
However, she realized that almost an hour had gone and her mother could have awoken.

Eveline and Gabriel agreed with her worry and soon fled the cage.
Gabriel then pulled his chair closer to Eveline’s and took her hand.
“Do not think too much.
I’m sure there’s more to this misunderstanding.
But I want you to keep it between us for now and not tell anyone,” he said, to which she nodded.
Eveline could blindly believe Gabriel when it came to her.
The man had been so sensitive to her feelings that he wanted to make sure no pain reached her, acting as a shield and scaring it away before she even noticed.
“I just hope there isn’t anything more shocking than what we’ve already received.
I just can’t wrap my head around all of the revelations or I’ll go insane,” she said helplessly.
“I will not allow you to become insane.
Trust me, we will reveal every secret Jedrick has been keeping hidden all this time because he has now crossed all bounds by hurting everyone’s feelings for his malicious reasons.” Gabriel couldn’t disguise his contempt for Jedrick, and how could he?
He knew how many lives he had damaged in the process.
“He definitely needs to rot in hell, exactly like Dad suggests.
He did not hesitate to slaughter those who gave him their names.
But in the end, he proved them wrong.
I wonder how Granny and Grandpa felt when their elder son killed them.
Their intentions were good, but the person they chose did not deserve it.” Eveline clinched her teeth and cursed Jedrick from the bottom of her heart.
Gabriel massaged the back of her palm as she took a deep inhale.
“Please divert me, Gabriel.
I really don’t want to think about that guy right now.” Eveline practically begged, and Gabriel grasped her nape and pulled her, claiming her lips in public.
Eveline’s eyes widened as he kissed her softly.
She could see his long lashes and her cheeks flushed red at the prospect of being seen.
“Is everything okay now?” Gabriel inquired after a few seconds, only to discover Eveline sitting still with her eyes wide open, staring at him.
She didn’t even flinch as Gabriel smirked at the sight of her red cheeks “You are blushing, love,” he remarked, and Eveline realized what had happened and quickly covered her face.
“I didn’t mean distraction means kissing me!” She looked around fearfully, but to her relief, no one was actually looking at them.
Nonetheless, it was too much.
Gabriel continued to caress her cheeks, enjoying her shyness before they both decided to go.
**** Thud!
As Eveline closed the car door, she turned to face Gabriel.
“How will we confirm your suspicion?” She was interested in how he planned to obtain Jedrick’s blood sample.
“I already have Leon working on it.
I only hope he brings something substantial to the table; for the rest, I can rely on Stefan.” He replied.
“Brother Stefan isn’t happy.
You could see the displeasure on his face,” Eveline said, noticing the dislike on his face as he affirmed Uncle Marcus’ decision to continue the agreement.
Gabriel agreed with thoughtfulness.
“Even I am wondering how he risks it; after all, Jedrick knows he is Uncle Jonathan’s friend.” Gabriel was doubtful, but he didn’t want to question Uncle Marcus’ opinion because Jedrick is unaware that Ella and her mother are related to him.
They need to keep it a secret from him for the time being.
“What are you thinking?” Eveline asked, taking note of his silence.
Gabriel looked at her and took his phone out of his pocket to type something before sending the message to Stefan.
“We can’t tell Jedrick about Ella.
Her existence should be kept hidden until we are able to extract Jedrick’s details,” he added, perplexing Eveline, who eventually agreed.
**** Jonathan was busy signing some documents when Kaden arrived, making himself at ease on the couch and waiting for his brother-in-law to finish his job.
“Let me know if there is anything else that needs my attention.” Jonathan spoke before Mark walked away.
“So, how come you are here, Kaden?” Jonathan inquired, darting his gaze to the man on the couch.
“Sister wanted to eat lunch with me.
So here I am, honoring my sister’s wish,” he responded.
“Is this why she is in the kitchen directly advising the staff on the menu?
Then I believe the delicacies will be to your liking.” Kaden shrugged in response to his comment.
Even when everything was settled between them, there was still an underlying discomfort that Kaden couldn’t shake.
Maybe it was the period when they lost contact, or maybe he blamed Jonathan for separating his sister from them.
The resistance remained.
“You sent me a voice note.
How did you get it?” Kaden shook off the irrelevant notion and went straight to the subject.
Jonathan halted as his gaze landed on him, gently leaning back in his chair, his fingers intertwined and his elbow resting on the armrest.
Kaden was attracted by the enigmatic look on his face.
“Eat mangos instead of counting the seeds.
Didn’t you get what you were looking for to control Marco?
It is bad that Jedrick has still gotten away with the crime, but he is now more sober in his maneuvers.” Kaden raised his brow, not swayed by Jonathan.
“Is that person one of the spies you placed in his gang?
If so, why not ask him what Jedrick plans to do next? The silence is killing me.” Jonathan laughed at Kaden’s restlessness.
“Don’t be greedy, Kaden, and just wait for the perfect time.
And, sure, it is one of my spies, but you don’t need to know about him right now since it is unsafe.
But trust me, for the time being, Jedrick is only trying to remove the traces of his prints in order to prevent the cops from leading him.” Kaden only gazed at Jonathan.
“Does that mean I’ll have to wait as you said?” he questioned, and Jonathan shrugged.
“Okay, boys, the lunch is ready,” Erna said through the door, breaking the silence.
Both of their eyes shot at her, confusing her, and she came to a standstill.
“Did I disturb you two?” she mumbled, staring at them skeptically.
Jonathan noticed the anxiety and promptly reassured.
“No, you didn’t, sweetie.
In reality, Kaden was starving and asked me whether the lunch was ready,” he remarked, exchanging a meaningful stare with Kaden, who agreed immediately.
“Yes, should we already head to the dinner table?” he suggested, washing Erna’s cautious expression away and bringing a satisfied smile as they all exited the room together.
