Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 326
Chapter 326: An additional history Chapter 326: An additional history The car drew to a halt in front of the Miller House, and Eveline swiftly unclutched her seatbelt and turned to face Gabriel.
“Was this the reason you wanted me to do an internship in your office?” she said, her eyes squinting playfully.
“Don’t you have a fetish for romantic novels?
The majority of them are office romances.
So, how about we live them while not disregarding your internship?
We’ll do it after office hours, just like we did today,” Eveline gasped, slapping him on the arm.
The laughter filled the car, turning Eveline’s face entirely scarlet.
She realized she had been blushing a lot more than usual.
Gabriel’s fun side was a treat, and she enjoyed it, but he had to stop using filters now.
“Someday, we might get caught, so don’t do such things, Mr.
CEO, or else I’ll have to reconsider my decision,” she remarked, latching on his smile.
“You have no option.” Gabriel exclaimed, “You gave me your words and that final.” She rolled her eyes at him.
Gabriel leaned forward and pecked her lips as she exited the car and entered the home.
He had just driven out of the mansion’s massive gates when he received a call from Leon.
“Boss, I found across additional medical history about Jedrick that he seemed to be hiding from everyone.
“Not even people close to him are aware of it,” Leon stated, leading Gabriel to strain his brow in anticipation.
“Okay, draft me.
I will read it on my own,” he said before hanging up the phone.
Gabriel drove to Winston’s house in less than 15 minutes and ran straight to his room, where he turned on his laptop and opened the email.
His gaze went across the screen, reading the words printed, and he abruptly spoke.
“Jedrick can’t be a father.” Gabriel was at a loss for words after seeing what he had gotten his hands on, and the outcome was too thorough to comprehend.
Quickly bringing out his phone, he validated Leon’s claims, and his response was completely accurate.
Gabriel leaned against the chair and took a deep breath.
His thoughts still hazy.
“Okay, keep looking for more.
“I want to unfold every chapter of his life,” he said before cutting the conversation short.
Gabriel closed his eyes and plunged into a pit of thought that was much darker and deeper than he had expected.
He forced himself to sit upright and called Stefan, who answered right away.

He simply couldn’t understand his thoughts.
It seemed as if Jedrick had spent his entire existence telling lies to others, making them victims of his evilness and treating them like pawns in a chess game.
“Have you told Eveline about it?” Stefan was finally able to talk as his mind began to relax and he returned to his original state.
“Not yet, but I’ll tell her soon,” Gabriel said.
Gabriel wanted to be certain about everything he got his hands on.
For the time being, they have established Jedrick’s inability to produce a child, but his and Ella’s blood groups match, implying that this condition occurred later.
However, no one else was aware of his dilemma, and he continued to carry out his plan and deceive everyone.
“I need to tell Ella about it too.” Stefan moaned, pinching his temples, which were already bursting with a sudden headache.
Gabriel hummed as they finished the call.
Stefan dropped the phone aside and shut his eyes.
After sitting there for a while, he got up and proceeded to the bathroom to change.
He still had time to sleep, so he decided to contact Ella and stepped into the balcony, but his gaze shifted to the adjacent balcony, which housed a study room where he observed his father taking a drag from his cigarette.
Marcus smoked infrequently, but only when he was thinking about anything specific.
Stefan decided not to call Ella and instead went to visit his father.
It had been a while since they had a lighthearted talk, and realizing that something was bothering him caused him to drop all thoughts and rush to the study area.
“I hope I didn’t disturb you,” Stefan said, breaking the peaceful atmosphere in the balcony and capturing Marcus’ attention.
He turned around to observe his son approach him.
Stefan placed his hand in his pocket and gazed forward at the enormous Hayes property as he stood next to his father, watching him resume smoking.
His silence indicated that it didn’t matter.
“Are you still missing her?” Stefan spoke as he raised his gaze to the sky.
The stars twinkled as the cool breeze stroked across his light golden hair.
“You smoke whenever you remember her.
“It’s your way of coping, am I right, dad?” he said, interrupting Marcus’s drag.
His eyes were as blank as the darkest night, devoid of feeling.
However, the mention of a specific person caused an expression to appear on his face.
It was a touchy subject that few people in the house broached.
It was also the reason for his father’s infrequent visits to his parents.
Marcus tapped the cigarette, extinguished it on the ashtray, and laid it aside.
Something was stirring within him, but he was too good at disguising it.
“You don’t really know until that person is gone forever and you realize that maybe for once you could have helped her.” Marcus murmured, peering at the unknown.
Stefan learned of his aunt’s suicide when he was fifteen.
That was also the day he discovered his father had an older sister.
That day, his grandparents paid them a visit.
He thought it was a good occasion, but things heated up when Marcus and his father Benden got into an altercation, which escalated to the point that Marcus walked out of the party angry.
He couldn’t understand how both of them managed to keep the peace despite their disagreements.
Perhaps he was only carrying out his responsibilities as their son while they remained in the delusion of pride.
“You still need to move on, Dad.” Stefan remarked, “She took that step because she couldn’t bear the pain, and now she’s free,” to which his father responded with an angry gaze.
“She couldn’t have if she hadn’t been pushed into something that forced her to walk on the edge of the world until she decided to jump,” Marcus fumed, his eyes flaming with hate as she glanced at his kid.
“And I will not forgive that person who drove her to do that,” Marcus screamed, leaving Stefan speechless.
His eyelashes fluttered as he watched his father race off of the balcony and into the study, while Stefan continued to stare at his figure seated in the chair.
Perhaps it was a bad move that irritated his father, but seeing him pain himself silently made him ponder who was the person he blamed for his sister’s death.
Stefan had always assumed that Aunt Janet’s decision to terminate her life was motivated by his grandparents’ expectations, but after hearing his father speak, he knew this wasn’t the case.
**** Gabriel was unable to sleep, so he sneaked out of the house and arrived at Miller Mansion.
However, recognizing it was late, he opted to take his traditional path into Eveline’s room.
He felt he would make it through the night now that he had spent the majority of the evening with Eveline, but he still needed her by his side for calm.
Jumping from the window, Gabriel’s gaze shifted to the bed, where Eveline was fast asleep.
Without hesitation, he tiptoed to the bed, slipped into the comforter and pressed closer to Eveline.
When Eveline sensed his presence, she moved to wrap her arm around him and snuggle closer.
“You came?” she asked, her eyes still closed.
Gabriel had no idea if she was sleep talking or awake; still, he chose to hum in response before she fell back asleep.
As time passed, sleep took over his thoughts, and he closed his eyes.
When he felt something slide across his face, he cautiously opened his eyes to see Eveline trace her finger along the edge of his nose.
“This weird way of waking me up is cute,” he grinned, turning to face her, and she smiled back.
“I didn’t know you were coming, but thank goodness I kept the window open or else you’d have to wake up the entire house to get you inside,” Eveline remarked, a grin on her face, when he threw his arm around her and pulled her close.
“My woman is incredibly thoughtful.
I greatly appreciate it,” he added, nibbling the tip of her nose, which made her smile at the very touch.
The couple remained silent, peering into one another’s eyes.
But there were lingering feelings that did not go ignored, and the desire to break the stillness was clear.
“I know you didn’t come here because you couldn’t sleep; there was something else that brought you here in the middle of the night,” Eveline inquired, breaking the long silence.
“It’s confirmed that Jedrick and Ella do share the same blood group,” he said, to which Eveline responded.
“Yes, we confirmed it in the office.” “But there’s more to it,” he added, fixing his attention on her, causing her to tremble and wriggle uncomfortably in his grip.
“He is infertile” he replied, leaving Eveline stunned.
