Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 327
Chapter 327: I hope this isn’t one of his scheme Chapter 327: I hope this isn’t one of his scheme Jedrick stared blankly at the contract before him.
It was surprising that Hayes chose to continue working with them.
The decision was sceptical, but he was amazed that someone like Marcus Hayes believed in him.
After clearing his name, Jedrick was suspicious that Hayes International would back out of the agreement they proposed to Larson’s group, but they did not.
“Good, I need to keep them all close to me.” He murmured and reached for the coffee cup.
With one leg crossed over the other, he sat back on the couch and took a sip.
“I now need to trick Mischelle into believing my lies.
But it will only happen when I am able to contact her,” he scoffed, recalling how she abandoned him yesterday.
They were meant to meet, but she did not show up, which derailed his plans.
Jedrick had no idea she was close with the Hayes family until he discovered her daughter was the one Stefan adored.
It was a win-win situation since he decided to utilize her as a pawn in his games.
But he didn’t anticipate Mischelle would be so difficult to acquire.
“You truly are something, Mischelle,” he continued, a smile spreading across his lips as he remembered that night with her.
Though he was high on drugs and needed someone to fulfill his thirst, her so-called friend duped her into sleeping with him.
It was the finest sex he’d ever had, but the next morning he found himself in the hospital, only to discover that the drugs had triggered a serious reaction that had cost him his fertility.
Following that day, Jedrick never used drugs again, although he did grow his business without informing anyone.
His secret was safe with him; not even those close to him knew.
And he intended to maintain it that way unless he annihilated his so-called brother.
Jedrick tried contacting Mischelle again, but the phone was turned off.
“I cannot let you ignore me, Mischelle.
You have to come to me,” he mumbled, determined to contact the lady.
**** Jonathan’s eyes were fixed on the reports.
No one could tell what was going through his thoughts, but the way he kept cool made him wonder if the finding disturbed him at all.
“He had fooled everyone.
How can he be my father if he can’t even reproduce?” Eveline asked, capturing her father’s attention.
Erna was equally surprised by the latest revelation.
She attempted to make sense of everything by forcing herself to think deeply but she couldn’t.
“Uncle, were you aware of-” Gabriel began speaking as Jonathan’s lack of reply piqued his interest.
“No, I did not.
But there is something that is hurting me.” Jonathan’s brows wrinkled with pain as he pressed his thoughts, but nothing made sense to him.

“What is it?” Eveline asked.
“I couldn’t recall, but something feels strange to me,” he added, his gaze drawn to Erna.
Something kept coming to mind, but he couldn’t recall the episode properly, as if the memory had been completely erased, yet the remnants lingered in his heart.
“Then who was the person I slept with?” Erna abruptly spoke, her eyes fearfully fixed on them.
Her fists gripped her chest as she muttered, “Was I raped?” Now that they were aware of Jedrick’s condition, the chances were better.
And everything pointed to one theory: he used someone to have sex with her.
“That bastard,” Jonathan cursed, smashing the reports with his fist.
“I didn’t know Jedrick would stoop so low that he didn’t care about anyone’s feelings” was his response.
Jonathan’s piercing look softens at the sight of Erna’s sad expression.
“And now I will make sure his life turns more than a hell for him.” Gabriel noticed that the tension in the room was increasing.
“Then I supposed he manipulated all the reports matching to his to make you all believe in his lies,” according to Gabriel.
“He has deceived all of us.
But it’s time to confront him,” Eveline said, her eyes glinting with determination.
“And you think he will confess all his lies?” Gabriel inquired, causing her to frown at him in confusion.
“Someone who is so skilled at twisting his words can trick us into believing lies again.
And, before we confront him, I believe we should locate the individual who collaborated with him on all of these.
“I’m sure someone was close to Jedrick,” he stated.
Jonathan contemplated Gabriel’s remarks.
He tried to think of someone who was close to his brother, and then he remembered.
“One of our housekeepers, Leonard, was assigned to look after Jedrick’s requirements.
He was the one who was always around Jedrick.” Erna then remembered something and spoke it.
“Yes, Leonard was there to bring drinks when I went to meet Jedrick that day,” her eyes gleaming with delight as she looks at everyone expectantly.
“Do you have any idea if he still works for him?” Gabriel asked.
“I’m not sure, but we can find out,” Jonathan said confidently, raising Evelines and Gabriel’s brows.
“Dad, can I ask you something?” Eveline stared at her father with caution, although deep down she had been curious about the answers for quite some time.
“How did you manage to get those recordings with Jedrick’s voice for Uncle Kaden to make Marco fall into his trap?” Eveline wasn’t far behind; she’d already asked Kaden about it, but he wasn’t sure either.
“As previously stated, I have my own ways.
Jedrick thinks he is smart, but I believe I am two steps ahead of him.” Eveline’s eyes softened as she attempted to comprehend his words.
“Soon I will let you all know, but for now, let us focus on finding Leonard.” He rejected all other questions and instead focused on finding Leonard.
Jonathan took out his phone and called someone.
“I want to know something,” he replied, peering directly into their eyes.
There was something mysterious about Jonathan that Eveline didn’t understand.
As he continued to speak, they sensed the tension between them rising with each passing second, until he finished the conversation and reclined back in his chair.
“I have someone looking for Leonard’s whereabouts, and once he finds him, we will investigate him,” Jonathan concluded the debate.
**** Eveline closed the car door and leaned back in her seat, closing her eyes.
“I hope we can discover this, Leonard.
Now my entire existence depends on his confession,” she muttered, disheartened.
Gabriel understood what was going through her head.
It became clear after multiple questions were asked about her existence and how her life revolved around the lies projected by none other than Jedrick himself.
But he was relieved that Eveline was losing her composure and was determined.
Gabriel placed his hand on her head and softly caressed it.
“I am confident your father will find everything,” he said, watching her take a big breath.
Eveline opened her eyes and nodded in agreement with him before he focused on the automobile and they drove out of the mansion’s gate.
**** [Hayes International] “The designs will be completed by the end of this week.
We will quickly review them before sending them to the clients,” Ella informed her employer.
Her eyes scanned him intently.
Unlike Stefan, she didn’t object to Marcus’ decision.
Nonetheless, she was confused as to why he agreed to continue working with Jedrick.
Marcus didn’t mind losing a few million dollars if he terminated the project, but while knowing the man was their archenemy, he continued to believe in him.
“Anything else, Ella?” His voice interrupted her thoughts and forced her lips into a narrow line.
“Boss, Mr.
Jedrick, does not appear to be convinced by the design and has requested that they be changed again,” she continued, her demeanor changing.
“Again?” he inquired, and she nodded.
“These are the previous designs for the building, but he wants them redesigned,” she added, handing him the file and taking a step back.
Marcus examined the craft and found nothing wrong with it.
“Everything appears to be perfect,” he replied, darting his gaze back to Ella.
“-But if he wants changes, then do what he says.
He is our client, and we can’t upset him.” Ella was surprised at how quickly Marcus consented to Jedrick’s pathetic request.
“As you say, boss,” she said and quickly fled the room.
Marcus leaned back in his chair, hands clasped, and peered carefully at the wall ahead.
“What are you attempting to do, Jedrick?
Are you testing to see if I’m up to anything?” He mumbled, the corner of his lips curling into a wicked smile.
“Then go on because all you will find is me compelling to everything you want.” **** Ella returned to her workstation and settled into the chair.
Her thoughts are muddled by Marcus’ servile conduct.
But then she rejected all of her ideas and reflected on the fact that she would now be able to closely observe Jedrick.
This initiative allowed them to delve deeper into Jedrick’s crimes and present real evidence.
The only difference was that they had to be careful this time.
“I just hope this isn’t one of his schemes to get away with his crimes,” she remarked, recalling the episode with Larson, which left him with nothing but to rot in prison.
