Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 328
Chapter 328: Someone had come looking for her Chapter 328: Someone had come looking for her Mischelle felt at ease ever since she turned off her phone.
To avoid Ella from suspecting her, she explained that her phone was not working and that she should check on her via landline calls.
Ella was dubious about leaving her alone, but Mischelle assured her that she was OK and that she didn’t need to worry about her anymore.
Mischelle concluded her errand and sat down on the couch, holding a glass of water.
She drank half of it and set it on the table in front of her before relaxing on the couch.
Mischelle did not wish to maintain contact with Jedrick.
She would never tell him that Ella was his daughter.
His shadow alone posed a threat to their existence, and she wanted to go as far away as possible.
She grabbed the remote control, turned on the television, and switched to a series.
She needed to divert herself from her bothersome thoughts.
As she attempted to focus her attention on the television, the thoughts grew even more overwhelming.
She may have shut off her phone to prevent Jedrick from calling her, but was it that simple to get rid of him when he had already discovered her after all these years?
Mischelle remembered how Jedrick would always block her path, making her feel uneasy beneath his watchful gaze.
He would continually stare at him with lust and would sometimes try to touch her.
Mischelle was helpless back then because she needed to support her family as well as fund her own schooling, so she took on as many part-time jobs as she could to pay the expenses.
However, despite her pain, she continued to work as a waitress in his pub, which paid her more than any other job.
She expected to marry her beau after graduation, so she began saving for it shortly after.
But things changed when Ruby, her friend, drugged her drink and gave it to Jedrick.
She had lost everything, and in order to avoid humiliation, she hurried away without looking back.
Ruby’s acts were unjustifiable, no matter how many times she requested forgiveness.
Mischelle trusted her, but in the end, she chose money over friendship and put her in the hands of a man who used her without her permission.
And now that her life was finally back on track, with her daughter finally able to walk out of the darkness that had surrounded them their entire lives, there was no way she would let him in and disrupt it.
Mischelle shook her head and rejected her thoughts as she proceeded to watch the series when the landline phone rang.
She answered it right away and learned that someone had come looking for her and is now waiting downstairs.
Mischelle’s heart fell as she considered the idea of Jedrick approaching her, so she asked the guard a question about the individual, to which he replied that the person had requested to see her.
“I’m sorry, but I can’t come and meet someone I don’t know,” she explained uneasily.
Abruptly hanging up the phone, Mischelle began to chew her lips with anxiety.
She was afraid her suspicions would be confirmed, and she had no intention of going to see who the person was.
***** Stefan continued to tap his finger on the steering wheel after parking his car on the side of the road.
He appeared so worried that Ella couldn’t stop staring at him for fifteen minutes.

“Stefan, it’s just a family gathering.
Why are you so worried about it?
“Ella inquired as she placed her palm over his hand on the driving wheel, putting an end to his anxiety.
“I wouldn’t have to, Dove, but the gathering is more than simply a family get-together; tomorrow marks my aunt’s death anniversary.
Every year, my grandparents come to our house to commemorate her peace, and every time there is a tension between Grandpa and Dad that is difficult to handle.” Ella lowered her gaze, comprehending his words.
She knew once a year, her boss would cancel all of his meetings, including the most important, and go on leave, but she had no idea it was for today.
“Your father had a sister?” she inquired, and he nodded.
“Yes, but she died by suicide at the age of twenty,” he revealed, surprising Ella.
Her hand rested on his losen, and he shifted his attention to her.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t know,” she apologized.
“That’s fine; Dad hardly speaks about it to anyone.” Stefan murmured, focusing his gaze back on the road.
“Her death affected him very much and he blamed no one else but his parents for expecting a lot from them,” said Stefan.
His voice was thick and bitter.
“My aunt was an exceptional child, and my grandfather wanted her to study business management, so she moved to country KÂ for higher education.
I’m not sure, but after moving there, she hardly contacted them, but she rarely spoke with Dad, with whom she exchanged details about her personal life.
She met someone there and fell in love with them.
She expected to spend the rest of her life with that person, but they broke up, which had an impact on her mental health.
She fell into depression and started using drugs.
She contacted her father for help, but once he found out what was causing her sadness, he began blaming her for losing their name over a love affair.
He forced her to deal with it and brought her back.
She was also forced to contribute to the business and attempt to expand it.
She did what she was taught, attempted to combat her demons, but no matter what, she failed to grasp herself and ultimately decided to take her life.” Stefan took a deep breath, blinking in an attempt to combat the stinging sensation in his eyes.
“And every time they meet, her topic does result in an argument where Dad blames Grandpa and he blames his daughter for being weak for not being able to handle a breakup,” according to him.
Ella remained mute and listened to what he said.
She now realized why he was so concerned, as similar incidents had occurred every time they met.
Stefan resumed their trip and arrived at Ella’s house after feeling better.
Stefan grabbed her hand as she prepared to go, preventing her from opening the door.
“You forgot something, Dove,” he remarked, making her turn to face him.
Slowly leaning in, he pouted his lips, patiently waiting for the kiss.
Ella could not help but smile.
“You are a kid at times, Stefan, and don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten about it,” she whispered softly, cupping his face and leaning in to kiss his lips.
“Is it okay now?” she questioned, taking a step back.
Stefan made a look as if he were contemplating, but before Ella could clarify, he clicked his tongue and grasped her nape, bringing her in for an intense kiss.
Ella was left breathless once he finished sucking the life out of her lungs.
She continued to rest in her seat till she felt normal.
“You are going to eat me one day,” she said with an angry glance at him.
“Should I do it now?” “I can’t get enough.” Stefan was ready to approach her, but she swiftly swatted his hand away.
“You dare to do that.
“I won’t talk to you ever,” she warned, and he quickly drew his hand back.
With a playful smile remaining on Stefan’s face, Ella exited the car and watched him drive away.
She had scarcely entered the building when the guard rushed to her.
“Miss Stewart, please wait.” Ella paused in her tracks and peered at the man, perplexed.
“You have a parcel,” he murmured, making her brow furrow as she extended an envelope to him.
There was no mention of the sender, raising the question of whether it was genuinely intended for her.
However, before she could speak up, the guard explained.
“Actually someone came looking for you, but your mother refuse to meet the person so he left this behind just in case if you decided to take.” Ella was still processing, but she didn’t wait too long before taking the envelope from the guard.
“Thank you,” she said, seeing him leave.
Her gaze was fixed on the object in her fingers, and her mind raced with questions about who had been looking for her and why her mother had refused to meet him.
“I think I should talk to mom before opening it,” she said as she got into the elevator and headed to her flat.
“Mom, I’m home,” she replied, coming inside and noticing Michelle exit the kitchen.
“You arrived at the correct moment.
Freshen up; I’ve prepared some fried chicken for you.
” Savor them before they go cold.” Ella spotted her mother, who appeared to be in a good mood.
So she chose not to bring up the subject just now.
But it was too late for her to think so, for Mischelle had already caught a peek of that envelope in her hand and inquired, “What’s that in your hand?” Ella stared down at her hand, then back at her mother.
“The guard claimed there was a visitor seeking me, but you denied meeting him.
So that person left this for me.
Ella casually said everything, but her comments turned Michelle pale.
“Don’t open it,” she yelled, leaving Ella surprised by the change in her demeanor.
