Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 33
Chapter 33: Clear my name
Gabriel realized how neglectful he had been when it came to acknowledging Eveline’s emotions. His constant doubt on her made him believe the wrong and he ended up pushing her away from him.
Gabriel inhaled deeply and attempted to remember a few instances in which Eveline would follow him even after receiving reprimands, acting as though nothing was wrong. But after he blamed her for being a lair, she decided to cut ties with him and started treating him as a stranger.
“Where are you lost, Gabby? I asked, What games do you plan on participating in?” Gabriel looked at his friend in shock as Stefan’s voice startled him out of his reverie.
A deep frown married his face when he saw Stefan pulling out a file and place on the table.
“Leave the game alone, but tell me—did you write the assignment?” Gabriel surprisingly looked at the file, running through the pages before shooting a baffled look at Stefan.
Stefan averted his gaze and awkwardly cleared his throat,” I had to. Who knows you might seriously go and tell Dad about my little secret”
While Gabriel was taken aback, he thought it was amusing that Stefan actually considered his threat seriously enough to complete the task.
The corner of Gabriel’s lips curled into a playful smile that caught Stefan off guard.
“You just wait, Gabby; I will definitely find a way to get even,” he said, gesturing to Gabriel, before hissing in the next instant.
“Ah”
Stefan was so alarmed by Gabriel’s warning that he stayed up all night finishing the assignment in preparation for turning it in the following day.
Gabriel could only chuckle at his warning because he knew the day would never come when Stefan would get his revenge on him.

Eveline persisted in glancing at the form Gracey had given them, asking them to enter their information and the name of the sport in which they intended to participate.
Eveline had no trouble choosing the names, but just as she was ready to write them down, her hand faltered due to an unfortunate memory that crossed her mind.
“Eve, it was not your fault. Why do you let those memories affect you?” she muttered to herself.
Eveline’s unfazed eyes threatened to well up with tears, but she blinked them away, leaving a faint red stain behind them when someone called her from the side.
“Eve,” her mind wandered, but her expression quickly hardened upon realizing who was calling.
Posing awkwardly, Tiffany asked, “Are you still upset with me?” as she stood in front of her passing.
Noticing the girl’s audacity, Eveline’s expression darkened. She was astounded by Tiffany’s tenacity—even after she played the victim and placed all the blame on her, Tiffany dared to approach her and inquire as to whether she was upset.
‘No, I want to rip those hairs off of your head so you will be bald for the rest of your life.’ Eveline thought to herself and said,
“What if I say yes?” With her hands folded and her back straight, Eveline asked, staring at Tiffany, “Will you apologize to me?”
Tiffany’s lips twitched at Eveline’s rudeness however she anticipated this reaction when she decided to approach her.
She realized that the only way she could win Gabriel’s heart would be to be with Eveline. She understood that if she ever upset her, Gabriel would view her as the guilty party.
‘No, I can not make the same mistake again,’ Tiffany told herself, recalling the incident that occurred with Gabriel this morning.
It was obvious that in the end, Gabriel would still believe Eveline regardless of what she did or said.
Eveline, however, noticed Tiffany’s expression change slightly. Though this abrupt change in her demeanor left her with many questions, she still expected her to keep playing the victim and spreading false information about her.
This method seemed a little too skeptical for her to accept, even though she was never really sure Tiffany would change.
Eveline gave Tiffany a hard look and started packing her things, getting ready to go when all of a sudden she heard someone say,

“I apologize for causing you distress, Eveline. I promise it won’t happen again.”
Eveline was surprised by the abrupt apology, but Tiffany persisted, continuing to hold her ears and expressing her regrets.
“I am sorry, Eveline. Please forgive me,” she said, leaving Eveline perplexed.
Tiffany smirked as she saw Eveline’s stunned expression, but she went with the act because she knew it would draw a lot of attention.
Regardless of how much Tiffany had to apologize, she was determined to use every chance to turn Gabriel against Eveline.
Eveline watched as every eye in the room was fixed on them before she glared back at Tiffany.
She knew it was her way to convince her, so be it.
If Tiffany wanted to play this game, so be it. She would take this as an opportunity to reveal her reality to everyone, while she would give her the benefit of being with her and plot against her.
“All right, I will forgive you. But there is a catch. You have to clear my name by admitting to everyone that I did not intentionally push you. If you agree, then we can resume our friendship.” Eveline glared at Tiffany, watching as the corner of her mouth quirked with annoyance.
‘You always managed to pull me down, and now it is my turn to repay you for the favors I did for you.’
Eveline remained true to what she said, relishing the conflict marred on Tiffany’s face.
Tiffany, however, tried to ignore all of her anger despite feeling her blood boil with rage at the thought of winning over Gabriel’s heart. She knew this was her only chance to let go of her ego if she wanted to gain Eveline’s and Gabriel’s trust.
“Wait a minute,” Tiffany abruptly said, her face becoming calm as she gave Eveline a brief look before making her way to the center of the classroom.
Even though Eveline was shocked, she chose not to show it on her face and stood there with her hands crossed over her chest unfazed.
As Tiffany directed her determined gaze towards Eveline, she said, “Listen, everyone, I have a confession to make.”
With a piercing sparkle in Tiffany’s eyes, she turned to face the students and remarked, “I fell the other day, and Eveline was not to blame. It was my fault for tripping and losing my balance.”
Students began to make comments about Tiffany after she revealed the truth, giving her an odd look. They had witnessed Tiffany accusing Eveline of pushing her, but it turned out that Eveline was innocent and Tiffany had stumbled on her own.
“Such a lair. How can she hold others responsible for her own mistake?” a student asked, casting Tiffany a demeaning glance.
While the students continued to pass harsh remarks towards Tiffany, she silently walked back to Eveline and extended her hand saying,
“Friends?”
