Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 330
Chapter 330: A memory I cannot recall Chapter 330: A memory I cannot recall Jonathan utilized his connections to track down information about Leonard, but nothing came up.
He seemed to vanish into thin air, leaving no trace behind.
“Are you sure there’s nothing about him you know?” he inquired on the phone, and the response he received disappointed him.
“Okay, but I believe Jedrick knows something you don’t,” he stated confidently.
When he finished inquiring, he stopped the conversation and leaned over in his chair, eyes closed.
Something about Leonard did not fit into his memories.
No matter how hard he tried, nothing could jog his memory.
“Jonathan,” Erna’s voice interrupted his thoughts, and he gently opened his eyes to look at her.
The depressed expression on her face prompted him to sit up and reach out to hold her.
“What happened?
Why do you look so stressed?” He inquired, unable to fathom what was wrong with her.
Erna’s eyes welled with tears.
The fact caused a great deal of sorrow in her heart, and she felt as if she didn’t deserve anything.
The flaws in her life made her doubt herself, and she felt unworthy of everything.
“I feel dirty,” she added, causing Jonathan to frown.
“What if I slept with someone I do not know?
What if, in order to carry out his plan, Jedrick broke all boundaries and forced me to sleep with someone?
She inquired, feeling the notion pierce her heart like a knife.
She was trying as hard as she could to hold back her tears, but she wasn’t strong enough to stand firm while everything was falling apart.
She suddenly wished she had died and never been revived.
At the very least, it would have simplified everyone’s lives.
“I do not think so, Erna.
Jedrick would never do such a ridiculous thing to you,” he replied, wiping away her tears and bringing his hand up to caress her head.
“Something doesn’t make sense here,” he stated again, the same thoughts running through his head.
Erna scowled as she spotted his torn countenance.
She could sense that something was bothering him, a feeling she had also noted earlier.
“What are you talking about?” she said.
Jonathan stood up and walked towards the window, his eyes fixed on the distance, attempting to see clearly.
“I believe I’ve forgotten something crucial in my life.” Helplessly, he uttered, “A memory I cannot recall.” Erna walked and stood by his side.
Erna fixed her inquisitive gaze on him.

She could tell he was attempting to recall something but was unsuccessful.
“Do you recall the day you went to meet Jedrick?
We talked about me going to meet one of my pals, but it never happened.
I was unable to attend that day, and I have completely erased the memory of it from my mind.
Jonathan rubbed his temple, attempting to recollect.
He remembered the words they said and how their call ended, but after that, he couldn’t recall anything.
It was as if he had amnesia and had forgotten everything from that day.
“Don’t be so hard on yourself, Jonathan,” Erna said, caressing his back as she noted the crease between his brows.
She encouraged him to embrace the moment without overthinking.
Perhaps one day he will be able to reclaim those memories, and everything will make sense.
He drew a long breath and nodded. Erna was correct; no matter how much he concentrated on those thoughts, he couldn’t recollect them.
“I think I should see a psychiatrist.
Maybe hypnosis can help me recall those memories,” he said abruptly.
Jonathan had no intention of pondering so much, yet something within him compelled him to make the decision.
It seemed as though the erased memories held significant importance in his life, and the act of forgetting them represented the most significant loss for him.
“I think we should do it jointly.
Even I want to recall that night.
Maybe I’ll recall who I-” “You can’t.
I don’t want those memories to upset you.” Jonathan refused.
“But Jonathan, this is the only way for us to find the person.” Erna was nervous, but to be honest, she was prepared to endure that torture once more if it was necessary to uncover the truth.
“No, and that’s it,” Jonathan said forcefully before walking away, leaving Erna dismayed by his comments.
She had never given hypnosis any thought before he brought it up.
She now believed that hypnosis was the only way she could uncover the truth.
Jonathan strolled out of the study and happened to run into Eveline, who had come there to greet him.
“I was about to meet you, but I guess you are retreating to your room,” Eveline replied, noticing the door open and Erna walk out.
“I suppose we are, but what brings you here, Eve?” Erna inquired respectfully.
Eveline observed the couple’s tension as a result of their disagreements.
The air between them was undeniably thick, but she chose not to explore it.
“It’s nothing.
I merely came here to see if Dad had found anything about Leonard,” she said, looking up at Jonathan with hope.
“I couldn’t for the time being,” Jonathan remarked in a gloomy tone that dimmed the glitter in her eyes.
“oh” “Don’t worry, we’ll find him soon,” he said.
Eveline wondered who this ally was assisting him, but his faith in that person made her want to believe her father’s statements.
“Okay,” she responded, and without further delay, she bid them farewell and made her way back to her chamber.
Eveline shut the door and walked to her bed.
With her hands resting on the edge of the bed, she took a deep breath and tried to relax when an expected call drew her out, which she promptly answered.
“Dad couldn’t find anything about Leonard, but he assured me that he’d find out where he was soon,” Eveline blurted out as if it was the first thing she needed to do while speaking with him.
Gabriel said nothing, causing her brow to furrow.
But then she heard him talk.
“Relax, Eveline.
Everything will be alright,” he murmured, and she paused.
Eveline could feel her heart race.
It wasn’t because Jonathan couldn’t find Leonard, but because her terror obstructed her rational thinking.
She was eager to learn the truth since her very existence depended on it.
But the longer it took, the more terror penetrated her deepest senses, leading her to worry about the worst.
“Gabriel, I-” she began, unable to express her emotions as she heard the sound of a vehicle approaching.
“Are you going somewhere?” she inquired, briefly forgetting her anxieties.
Her brows furrowed in inquiry.
“Yes,” he replied quietly.
“Where?” “Go to your place,” he said, and she immediately stood up.
“Wear something warm before leaving the house,” he advised before hanging up the phone.
Eveline blinked as she processed his words, but her legs moved on their own, following his orders.
After ten minutes, she noticed a car approaching, quickly got in, and drove away.
