Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 331
Chapter 331: He is using the name Bernard Chapter 331: He is using the name Bernard A couple reclined on the car roof, wrapped in a comfortable quilt, under the starry night, with their car parked at the top of the cliff.
The cool breeze continued to blow, but the night provided a distinct level of comfort that kept the couple warm in each other’s arms.
“Feeling better?” Gabriel inquired, shifting his gaze from the sky to Eveline.
“Hmm, I wasn’t expecting this much comfort,” she remarked, meeting his grey orbs.
Gabriel, unable to control his need, leaned in and kissed her lips.
It wasn’t long, but it did help them both settle down.
“I was getting nervous, but this helped me,” she smiled, keeping her chin out and pointing to the sky.
Gabriel continued to stare at her as she gazed at the stars.
However, a phone call quickly interrupted his serene moment.
Gabriel pulled out his phone and answered it.
“Okay, we’ll be right there,” he remarked, catching Eveline’s gaze as she frowned.
“Are we going somewhere?” she inquired, gradually pushing herself up.
“Yes,” Gabriel replied, confusing Eveline even more.
Finally, the couple got into their car and drove away.It barely took them fifteen minutes to reach the coffee shop, where Leon was already waiting for them.
Eveline frowned, checking her wristwatch.
She was curious as to why Leon had summoned them at this hour, so she quietly followed Gabriel as they settled into the corner table.
“Boss, there is no record of the man Leonard, as I searched every detail about him.” Gabriel furrowed his brow.
“But there is something strange I have come across, and it’s truly interesting,” the man said.
Eveline looked at Gabriel, who gave her an assuring look.
“Go on,” Gabriel responded as Leon delivered the information he could get his hands on.
“This is the man we are supposed to look for,” he said, handing him a photograph of the Leonard they were looking for.
“But he isn’t residing under the name Leonard; instead, he is now using the name Bernard to conceal his true identity,” said Eveline.
Eveline examined the photograph of the man named Leonard.
“He has been concealing his identity for years,” he said, leaving Eveline and Gabriel puzzled.
“That’s why Dad couldn’t find out about him because he had been completely concealing his identity,” Eveline mumbled, catching Leon’s attention.
Gabriel observed that Leon was able to distinguish a single difference between the two individuals.
Without the long beard and moustache, the person emerging would be Leonard, not Bernard.
“So, what are we waiting for?
Let’s get to him,” Eveline said now that they had located the person.
“I’m sorry, but we can’t miss Eveline,” Leon said in a depressed tone.

“Jedrick has his men monitoring Leonard, and going closer to him isn’t easy with them around,” he noted.
Eveline pursed her lips, balling her palm into a tight fist.
“I think we can come up with a plan without telling Jedrick about his infertility,” Gabriel said, carefully sliding his hand under the table and holding hers.
Eveline let out a trembling breath as she felt him caress her hand, and her rage dissipated gradually.
Leon, on the other hand, nodded in accord.
“For the time being, I’d like you to keep me updated on his daily schedule as well as information about the men who continue to follow him,” Gabriel said before terminating the meeting.
Gabriel then assisted Eveline in getting into the car and carefully fastened the seatbelt.
He then got into the driver’s seat and did the same.
Eveline may have calmed down, but her train of thoughts did not stop.
“Eve, please refrain from considering a risky implementation.” Gabriel’s voice interrupted her thoughts, causing her to stare at him with skepticism.
“I promised I wouldn’t make the same mistake,” she replied, but the anxiety persisted in his heart.
“And you are good at breaking promises,” he remarked, as she closed her eyes in disappointment.
Her head dropped back, and she sat still.
“When do we go find that man?” she asked, swiveling her head to the side to see Gabriel already staring at her.
He noted her expressions and replied, “Until we have enough information about his surroundings, we will not make a move.” Eveline groaned and nodded, agreeing with him.
She quickly took off her seatbelt and grabbed him by the nape, slamming his lips into an intense kiss.
Gabriel let go of the belt, and she straddled in his lap, deepening the kiss until they were both panting.
“I know what you are thinking, but I promise I won’t repeat the same thing.” Eveline mumbled breathlessly as their noses touched and their breaths mingled on their faces.
Gabriel gazed into her eyes, easing his anxieties with a kiss that left no room for doubt.
***** Ella tiptoed out of her room without making a sound, closing the door carefully behind her.
She had been so careful not to wake her mother that she practically acted like a thief in her own home.
“God, this is so difficult.
What made you agree with Stefan in the first place?” Ella reprimanded herself for being courageous enough to retrieve the envelope she had already given to her mother.
‘Hell no; she didn’t know where she kept it.’ Ella was filled with regret for her careless decision-making.
But now that she had mustered the bravery, she was not going to back down.
“You can do it.
Just stay quiet,” Ella told herself, gearing herself for the task at hand without thinking much.
She composed herself and proceeded towards her mother’s room, dismissing all thoughts.
As she cautiously opened the door, her gaze swept over the darkness before settling on the figure sleeping on the bed.
Ella took a deep breath and walked inside after opening the door further.
She knew her mother was a deep sleeper, but she double-checked by waving her hand over her sleeping face.
Mischelle was sound asleep, mostly snoring, which gave Ella great relief, and she proceeded further.
She quickly scanned her surroundings for the envelope, but she couldn’t find it.
Ella tiptoed to the bedside table, cautiously opening the drawer.
Her eyes glistened with hope when she discovered the envelope lying inside and hurriedly snatched it.
Ella stared at her mother with caution before hastily pulling out her phone to take photos of the letter within.
She made sure to limit the camera’s clicking sound to a minimum and completed her tasks fast.
She folded the letter back, kept it inside the envelope, and closed the drawer.
Ella was back on her feet and ready to leave the room when Mischelle summoned her.
“Ella, what are you doing here?” Ella paused, her face filled with dread as she heard her mother call her name.
Mischelle pushed herself up and switched on the table lamp.
She directed her confused gaze at the rigid back.
Ella, on the other hand, controlled her nerves and turned to face her mother.
“I-I came to check on you,” she murmured, hiding her phone behind her back.
Michelle’s furrowed eyebrows thinned, and she yawned.
“I’m absolutely fine.
Mischelle tried to reassure her.
“Yes, I see that,” she replied with an uneasy smile.
Mischelle was puzzled, but it didn’t bother her too much.
“Go get back to bed and let me have a good sleep,” she said, and Ella raced out of the room, adding, “Goodnight, Mom.” Ella was like a mouse fleeing into a hole.
Her back smashed against the wooden surface as she closed the door, her hand resting on her heart, feeling it pound.
“That was close,” she murmured, taking her time to calm down before she noticed her phone.
As she opened the photos to read the letter, her face darkened and her eyes became icy.
