Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 336
Chapter 336: Meeting Jedrick Chapter 336: Meeting Jedrick Erna couldn’t sleep, so she decided to walk around her garden to clear her head.
The weight of the shame she felt from lying to Jonathan was keeping her from being at rest.
He plainly voiced his concerns, yet she chose to go against him.
How was she going to handle the truth once it was revealed?
Erna has always relied on Jonathan.
He was the one person she turned to when things went wrong.
As a friend or lover, he was the only one who could calm the storm within her, and, despite knowing all, she chose to lie.
Erna’s head was in turmoil, and her heart felt uneasy.
She had already chosen to follow the doctor’s advice, and she was going to her first session tomorrow.
Sherlyn explained that she needed to test her to see if she was ready for the psychological examination, and she readily agreed.
Erna was desperate to learn what had happened to her, and hypnosis was the only way for her to recall the forgotten details.
As she continued to walk, her mind wandered, and instead of calming down, the guilt of concealing such a large secret from her husband grew stronger in her heart.
“Mom, what are you doing outside?” A familiar voice jolted Erna out of her thoughts as she turned to face her daughter.
Eveline raced to her mother, frightened since she hadn’t expected Erna to wander into the garden.
Erna amusedly glanced at the retreating automobile before returning her gaze to her daughter.
“Gabriel didn’t come with you?” she inquired, dismissing Eveline’s alarm.
Eveline stood in front of Erna and grasped her hand.
They were cold.
“No, he isn’t,” she said, quickly rubbing her mother’s hand.
“You’re cold, Mom,” Eveline remarked, continuing to touch Enra’s palm.
Erna looked at her daughter with confusion, but then a smile formed on her lips.
“They aren’t that cold, and I wasn’t out here for long,” Erna said as she tried to tear her hand away from Eveline’s grip and weakly smiled.
Eveline gazed at her in amazement.
“Are you sure?” she inquired again.
“Yes, I’m not that cold.
In fact, I was soon going to return,” Erna assured Eveline firmly, dispelling all of her concerns.
“But you didn’t tell me what you’re doing here or where Dad is.
How did he leave you alone at this hour?” Eveline repeated her prior inquiry.
Erna stopped, letting her words sink in.
“T-That…

I couldn’t sleep.
So…
I thought maybe a walk would help.” Eveline furrowed her brow and crossed her hand against her chest.
“And why are you unable to sleep?
Are you not feeling well, or are you worried about something?” Even though Erna’s smile might conceal her pain, Eveline, as an observer, could see that her mother was concealing something.
Erna let out an uneasy laugh.
“Why should I stress?
“I’m fine,” she replied, evading the questioning stare.
Erna couldn’t let her daughter see through her lies.
She continued to smile.
“Come on, let’s get inside or you’ll catch a cold,” Erna tried to dismiss her fears.
Eveline furrowed her brow but refused to comply, instead entering the house with her mother.
Eveline paused as she approached the door to her room.
“Mom,” she yelled, pausing Erna on her spot and looking seriously at her.
“If something bothers you, please do not hesitate to speak out.
I am here for you,” her words astonished Erna, and her lashes trembled with emotion.
She smiled and nodded as she watched Eveline enter her room.
Erna believed Eveline wouldn’t raise an objection, but as Jonathan’s daughter, she was inseparable from him, regardless of her denials.
‘I’m sorry, Eveline, but I have to conceal this truth from you both,’ she said inwardly before walking away.
**** The next morning, Mischelle arrived at the specified address and waited patiently for Jedrick.
Michelle agreed to help them after talking with Ella about it, but the nagging fear remained.
After so many years, she was going to confront the guy who ruined her.
Despite her fear and hatred, she chose to be courageous for her daughter and not let those emotions override her sanity.
‘You can do it.’ Mischelle closed her eyes, recalling Ella’s remarks.
The way she reassured her that she would never let her guardians down gave her courage, and she opened her eyes to hear someone shout her name.
“Michelle” Her head moved in the direction of the person, and her blood instantly dried up.
There he stood, the man she despises with every bone in her body.
Jedrick.
Jedrick, on the other hand, grinned, walked around the table, and sat across from her.
His eyes noted her reaction, and his smile spread wide.
“I thought you would ditch me this time too,” he interrupted Mischelle’s thoughts.
The sound of his speech penetrated her senses, and her eyes immediately turned cold.
“I should have, but you won’t stop until you see me.
So here I am obeying your request,” she remarked, maintaining a detached tone.
Jedrick smiled, impressed by how she maintained the same chilly atmosphere she had back then.
Jedrick would be lying if he claimed that Erna’s appeal never captured his heart, but his infatuation with her outweighed his fleeting feelings for this woman who satiated his cravings.
Unfortunately, that night robbed him of his ability to appreciate it.
“How can I not, after realizing how wrong I was to you back then?” Jedrick’s voice became serious, and he averted his gaze in shame.
Mischelle felt a surge of hate rush over her as she watched him try to regret his actions.
‘Son of a b*tch,’ she wanted to curse out loud, but she restrained herself.
“How can you feel remorse when you were the one who requested that Ruby spike my drink?” You did not plan everything. You wanted me in your bed anyway,” Mischelle said.
Mischelle did not allow hisremarks tos bother her.
She understood the man was like a chameleon, changing hue as he pleased.
He now intended to brainwash her into believing his falsehoods.
“I apologize.
I needed someone to help me get through the drug that was having such a negative impact on me.” Jedrick was not lying.
It was true that the medicine he took had an adverse reaction on his body.
Mischelle scowled.
She stared at Jedrick, her mind straining to understand the gravity of his words.
“And you decided to ruin me,” she stated quietly but clearly.
Jedrick looked up.
The disgust in her gaze caused him to clench his jaw, but he did not snap.
He had to keep acting to get this woman to believe his deception, but little did he know that everything he said was being videotaped.
Yes, Mischelle had kept the voice recording on while her phone was inside her purse on the table.
They recorded every word they spoke.
Ella nervously waited to hear from Michelle while she visited with Jedrick.
Ella felt certain that Michelle would manage things, but she was not secure in the man she was facing.
So she decided to keep Stefan under surveillance while ensuring that everything was under control and that the man had no hidden motives.
“She is leaving,” Stefan stated abruptly, glancing at his laptop screen.
Ella witnessed her mother’s departure as well, and Jedrick followed suit after some time.
After a while, her phone rang, and it was Mischelle.
Ella answered the phone right away and invited her to come to her office.
