Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 343
Chapter 343: Have you met my father before?
Chapter 343: Have you met my father before?
Gabriel was leaning against his car, fiddling with his phone, when he noticed Eveline, who was furious, making her way out of the house and towards him.
“Is everything okay? Did she tell you why she went to the doctor?” Gabriel inquired.
Despite being aware of the reality, he preferred to hear it from Eveline herself.
“No, a phone call interrupted our conversation even before we could begin,” Eveline muttered, her chest heaving forcefully as she attempted to calm her emotions.
Gabriel paused in realization.
“Maybe I am overstressing.” Eveline spoke when she had calmed down.
She had been doubting even the smallest details to the point of intrusiveness.
But why did her mother’s discovery of the lie take her by surprise?
Gabriel gazed at her dejectedly.
He tried to say, ‘No, you are not,’ but he wasn’t sure he could.
“Okay, let’s not think about it now.
I believe it’s best if we give her some time to open up,” he suggested, hoping to divert her attention.
She agreed, and soon they were in the car, prepared to leave for work.
Erna, who was watching the car slide away, sighed, gripping the phone in her palm.
“Eveline is suspicious of me.
I need to be quick in recalling my missing memories,” Erna reflected.
She’d already planned how she’d confront Jonathan once the truth was revealed, but she couldn’t tell anyone what she was up to beforehand.
“I should exercise caution,” she said, mentally noting her actions before heading back to her room.
**** A car stopped beside a tall building, with the driver urgently scrutinizing the entrance.
Kaden and Sherlyn reconnected a few days ago, and since then, they haven’t stopped talking.
They had planned a weekend together and discussed it several times, but he has been unable to contact Sherlyn since yesterday.
Kaden looked at the last text he sent her, but she did not respond, and even in the morning, when her reply would be the first thing he saw, there was complete stillness from her end.
“Why is it taking her so long?
She would have arrived by now.” Kaden glanced at his wristwatch and then back ahead.
He was never this desperate, but Sherlyn was not just anyone.
He never confessed, but he did like her; the only difference was that he expected to get over it in years, but he didn’t.
“What if she is busy?” he whispered, reminding himself that she had a life other than being a doctor.
Looking at the gates, Kaden took a big breath.

He was going to drive away when he noticed a familiar car enter the clinic’s gates.
“What is Jonathan doing here?” he inquired, quickly pressing the phone button.
“Where are you?” he inquired, dismissing the formal salutation.
Jonathan arched his brow, Kaden’s candor eliciting an entertaining grin on his face.
“Good morning,” he said, receiving a frustrated snarl in response.
“Jonathan, what are you doing at the Healon Clinic?” was the name of Sherlyn’s clinic.
Jonathan was taken aback to discover that Kaden was aware of his clinic visit, prompting him to make the connection.
“Why are you following me?” he teased with a cheeky chuckle.
“Yes, now tell me what you’re doing there.
Is everything fine with your brain, or should I call my friend to admit you to a mental asylum?” Kaden joked dryly.
“Your friend?” Jonathan inquired.
“Yes, a friend who owns the place,” Kaden replied, a proud smile spreading across his lips.
Jonathan had no idea Doctor Sheryln was Kaden’s friend, but now that he knows, he’s found a new way to tease him.
“A friend or girlfriend, huh?” Jonathan inquired, his curiosity at its pinnacle.
Kaden knew Jonathan was being clever to get at his feelings, but he wasn’t going to tell him what he wanted to hear.
“A friend,” he added, drawing a chuckle from Jonathan.
“I doubt, though.” “Whatever, but first tell me why you felt the need to consult a physiatrist.” Kaden continued to look down the road, catching a sight of Sherlyn’s car as it approached the gates.
He had the impulse to pursue her, but he stopped himself because he realized it wasn’t the correct thing to do and that he should wait for her to approach him.
Jonathan, on the other hand, informed him of his intention to visit a doctor.
“Are you sure it will give you all the answers?” Kaden inquired, taking a deep breath.
“I’m not sure, but those missing fragments would correspond to those moments we’re seeking.” Jonathan felt confident since it made sense to him.
The only difficulty was that he couldn’t recall it.
“Then go ahead and let me know what you found.” Kaden encouraged him, and after a while, they both hung up, with Jonathan eventually making his way to the doctor’s office and Kaden about to start the engine when a text flashed up and a smile gradually spread across his face.
Sherlyn apologized for not answering and explained that she is currently busy with several clients.
Kaden had never felt so peaceful before, but her text had taken away all of his anxieties.
He hurriedly texted her back, expressing his understanding, but another notification on his phone caused his eyes to freeze.
He swiftly ended his conversation with Sherlyn and drove his car, heading to a familiar area.
**** In the meantime, Stefan and Ella visited Larson Group, now owned by none other than Jedrick.
After postponing their prior meeting, he finally agreed to attend today.
Stefan had been serene as he repeated his father’s comments.
He’d promised him something, and there was no way he’d back out.
But there was also an underlying sense that wouldn’t go away, and he had to be observant about it.
“This way, Sir, Miss.” Rick, who led the two to Jedrick’s office, opened the door so they could walk inside.
Stefan’s gaze was drawn to the guy who sat on his throne, staring at them with the same intensity as them but concealing his intent with a gracious grin.
“Mr.
Stefan, Miss Ella, it’s good to see you after a long time,” Jedrick stated, rising from his chair and walking towards the couch.
“Please have a seat,” he urged, and the trio sat across from each other.
Jedrick looked at the woman with whom he had previously spoken at the software launch event.
If he knew who she was, he would have made his move much earlier.
‘No surprise, she looked so familiar to him,’ he thought, examining the lady in front of him.
Stefan, on the other hand, sensed Jedrick’s observing eyes on Ella and purposefully cleared his throat.
“Can we start the meeting?” he asked, breaking Jedrick’s eyes from Ella.
He had a serious expression on his face as he studied Stefan’s intended stare.
“Sure,” he replied.
Jedrick was shocked that they came prepared with the designs.
If he rejected one, they had more lined up, and after going over each one, he decided to go with the one that was most convenient for him.
“I was surprised by how well-prepared you were to help me make a final decision based on your designs,” Jedrick leaned back in his seat and stated.
“We want to make sure we don’t disappoint our clients.
This deal is vital to us, so we won’t afford to make any mistakes,” Stefan explained as Jedrick nodded in agreement.
“Your tenacity is inspiring, Stefan.
I realize you’re just as ambitious and determined as your father.”Jedrick said, prompting Stefan to tilt his head and ask him.
“Have you met my father before?
I mean, you’ve only recently entered the economic world following a risky startup venture abroad.
Now I’m wondering if you came prepared.
Jedrick was impressed by Stefan’s directness.
Though he was already aware of Marcus Hayes from a professional standpoint, he was not personally acquainted with him, other than the fact that he was close to Jonathan.
“I wish I knew him.
I’ve heard he’s one of the most talented CEOs of his time.” Jedrick continued to compliment Marcus in front of Stefan.
But the girl, who remained silent throughout the exchange, caught his attention instead of waiting for a response from him.
“Miss Ella, how about you?
How did you manage to capture the attention of one of the top industrialists?
I heard Marcus Hayes was the one who picked up.” Jedrick moved the topic to Ella.
Despite his prior investigation, there was still a matter about which he desired further clarification.
