Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 344
Chapter 344: Can you spare me a word Chapter 344: Can you spare me a word The words spoken by Jedrick made Ella look across at him.
Observing the delicate smile on his face caused her eyes to narrow slightly.
“I agree with you, Mr.
Jedrick; my dad does have an eye for talent, and Miss Stewart is exceptional in every way.
He had to choose her,” Stefan responded on Ella’s behalf.
He was bothered by Jedrick’s obvious interest in her, which prompted him to interrupt her.
Jedrick laughed and nodded his head in agreement.
“You are correct,” he remarked, and they quickly concluded the discussion, preparing to go.
But before Ella could walk out, Jedrick stopped her.
“Miss Stewart, can you spare me a word?” Ella exchanged a quick glance with Stefan and agreed before he could object.
“Yes.” Her answer caused Stefan to furrow his brow, but she reassured him that everything would be alright and he walked out, not before locking eyes with Jedrick.
With Stefan out of the picture, Ella made her way back to Jedrick and stood before him.
She had been doing her best to be quiet so Jedrick wouldn’t see her holding him.
Despite her lack of interaction, it’s possible that the man had already intended to speak with her.
“Yes, Mr.
Donovan, what would you like to talk about?
Is it about the project?” She asked with a neutral expression and a steady voice as she faced her father.
‘I wish he wasn’t.’ Jedrick noted Ella’s hostility toward him, as opposed to when they met at the celebration.
For a second, he wondered if Michelle had told her about him, but then he dismissed the thought, insisting that she would not.
‘Whatever happened to her, she wouldn’t talk about it,’ Jedrick mocked mentally before deciding to acknowledge Ella’s concerns.
“No, Miss Stewart, it’s not about the project because we’ve already finished the design.
But it is something significant to you.” Ella’s breath caught in her throat, her mind focused on a possibility she didn’t want to confront.
“Me?” she inquired with a hint of bafflement.
She was secretly worried that Jedrick would catch her, but the words that followed threw her off guard.
**** Outside, Stefan was feeling increasingly agitated with the wait.
The thought of Ella being alone with Jedrick was unsettling, but he couldn’t get inside when a particular pair of alarming eyes was staring at him.
Stefan wasn’t expecting Rick to accompany him, but his scrutiny was making him uncomfortable.
‘This man, can’t he just look anywhere else?’ Stefan didn’t want to concentrate on anything else right now because his thoughts were completely focused on Ella.
He merely wanted her out of the room before his patience ran out.
Just as Stefan was about to turn on his heel, Ella emerged from the doorway. He paused, noticing the two from a distance and his eyes narrowed.

“I hope you will think about it, Miss Stewart.
After all, this opportunity doesn’t come around very frequently.” Stefan’s ears perked up as he watched Jedrick smile at her, and she nodded in return.
Even though he felt the urge to pull her toward him, he restrained himself in front of others.
Ella simply smiled and turned to go, prompting Stefan with a series of questions.
“Mr.
Hayes,” Jedrick smiled, and Stefan nodded as they left the office.
As soon as the pair entered the elevator, Jedrick’s grin faded.
“I’m in my office now,” he told Rick, who instantly followed him inside.
“Yes, Boss,” the man stood behind Jedrick, unable to see his expression but able to hear him clearly.
“I want you to prepare a document,” Jedrick surprised Rick with his subsequent remarks, buy what he said further left him stunned.
“Under the name of Miss Ella Stewart,” he said, turning to face him with blank eyes.
**** After work, Gabriel decided to take Eveline to a restaurant.
He felt compelled to feed her because she rarely ate anything at lunch.
They had been very busy with their various jobs, which stretched their lunch break, and by the time they were able to eat anything, she had lost her appetite.
Gabriel continued to fill Eveline’s plate, which she eventually refused.
“Hmm, don’t put everything on my plate.
Leave something for yourself too,” Eveline said, realizing her dish was about to overflow.
“You barely touched anything, Eve,” he said, leaving her speechless.
She shifted her gaze back and forth between the plate and Gabriel until they caught a sight of something else.
“Do not look at me.
I’m not hearing anything, love,” Gabriel continued to spoon up the food and bring it to his mouth as Eveline gaped.
“Is that Uncle Kaden?” Gabriel’s brow furrowed as he turned his head in the direction she was looking.
Meanwhile, inside the same restaurant, Kaden and Sherlyn settled at another table.
After ignoring him last night, Sherlyn decided to make amends by taking him to a restaurant for supper.
The day was hectic with a packed schedule, and as simple as it appears, the life of a medical professional is not easy.
“I am sorry I was unable to text you last night.
“I ended up falling asleep much earlier,” Sherlyn apologized, fiddling with the fork in her palm.
“It’s fine; you don’t have to feel apologetic.
I can understand.” Kaden was not angry or anything.
He merely became concerned when she did not respond to him immediately.
Sherlyn sneaked a glimpse at Kaden, who merely grinned back.
She was frightened of facing him because it wasn’t the only reason she had neglected him.
She recognized that after reuniting with him, her feelings for him returned.
Sherlyn had been able to suppress her emotions for years since Kaden was not present.
She had convinced herself that Kaden would never come around, but now that he was here, she understood that her affections for him had never been buried.
They were always waiting for the appropriate moment to show up again.
But then there was the dread that he would abandon her and that the feelings she had for him would not be acknowledged.
“By the way, how long are you going to stay in town?” she inquired, seeking to confirm her suspicions.
She wanted to ensure that this reconciliation would not leave her heartbroken.
“I do not know.
Perhaps I’ll be here longer than thought,” Kaden said, his gaze lingering on Sherlyn’s face.
He could not get enough of her beauty and innocence, which filled his heart with love for her.
“By the way, I hope you’re not ditching your boyfriend to have dinner with me,” he asked, grabbing her attention.
“I don’t have a boyfriend,” she said quickly, eliciting a slight smile from Kaden.
Sherlyn pouted and watched him grin once again.
She was so caught up in her affections for him that she never considered alternative options.
Kaden was more than simply a passing crush; he was someone who opened her heart to love.
“How about you?
Do you have any girlfriends?” Sherlyn inquired.
She spoke cautiously as she studied his expression, silently hoping for a ‘no’ from him.
“No, he doesn’t, but he will undoubtedly have one in the future.” Kaden and Sherlyn turned their attention towards the voice that spoke on his behalf. “Hello, Uncle,” Eveline smiled, waving her hand at Kaden, as Gabriel stood behind her, head down.
“And I guess you are the lady with whom my uncle chats a lot.” Sherlyn: “…” Kaden: “…” Gabriel: ‘tried to hide somewhere in the corner.’ CREATORS’ THOUGHTS akshaya_vanne Thank you Blasphemera for the golden ticket NEW BOOK ALERT Marriage with my daughter’s father: Darling please be gentle
