Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 35
Chapter 35: Finding the truth
Eveline walked proudly toward the computer lab, a triumphant smile on her face.
She knew that her betrayal would not sit well with Tiffany, and she would not allow this humiliation to go unnoticed, but it did not matter because Eveline shared her desire.
She wanted Tiffany to taste the bitterness of her own medicine and swallow the harsh criticism she would face because of her confession.
Though Eveline was eagerly waiting for Tiffany to strike back, she didn’t bother much as there were other things she wanted to look for.
Eveline wanted to find the person behind the photos. She continued to believe that Tiffany was the culprit, but without concrete evidence, she was unable to confront Tiffany or accuse her with confidence.
Thus, Eveline would use the abilities she picked up from Stefan to hack the ID Alex gave her and track down the person who created it.
Eveline drew out a chair quickly, took a seat in front of the computer desk, and turned it on.
Eveline hastily created a fictitious ID as her fingers raced across the keyboard before she continued her search for the offender. Her gaze was fixed intently on the screen, and she was typing something when she suddenly slammed her hand down in defeat.
“Bloody hell, he deleted the ID.” Eveline’s voice turned everyone’s eyes towards her.
She looked like a mad lady who was blabbering something, almost making fun of herself.
Her gaze quickly landed on the man tasked with overseeing the lab after she noticed the expression on everyone’s face and heard him say
“Silence,”
All the rage inside Eveline flew out of the window and she awkwardly lowered her gaze and ducked herself a little, hiding her face behind the computer screen.
She exhaled in relief as soon as she realized that everyone had gone back to their jobs. But soon that relief turned into a frown as she racked her brain from thinking about how she would find the person now.
After sitting there for a minute contemplating a solution, Eveline’s mind suddenly flashed to hacking Alex’s ID.
“Yes, that would be a great idea to know if Alex is telling the truth,” Eveline thought to herself as she still couldn’t bring herself to entirely trust Alex and quickly hacked into his ID, only to learn that there was no sign of anyone sending those photos to him.
“When did you learn to hack?” Eveline jumped on her seat startled by the stern voice next to her ear.
Gabriel’s dark eyes darted from the screen to Eveline only to find her looking at him with wide eyes.
Gabriel was so eager to meet Eveline that he dropped by her classroom, only to find her nowhere. On his way out, he stopped a student and inquired about her, who informed him that she was in the computer lab.
Curious to know what Eveline was up to, Gabriel made his way toward the lab with a long stride and found her settled in one of the corners.
Though Gabriel was not sure if Eveline was trying to hide or had stooped to look directly into the computer, her concentration caught his attention, and he silently but slowly walked up to her.
Even though Eveline was still in disbelief, she flinched and nearly bumped Gabriel’s nose with her forehead as she gradually pulled away from her stupid.
“Ouch” both of them hissed simultaneously grabbing everyone’s attention when Eveline suddenly pulled Gabriel down forcefully making him sit on the chair next to hers.
“Mr. Warner will kick us out if we make any noise,” Eveline whispered, keeping them both hidden from the man who had him gawking at them.
Gabriel was surprised when he realized how close Eveline’s face was and that he could even feel the warmth radiating from her.
Gabriel found himself gradually losing himself in her, from her alluring scent to her flawless white beauty. Everything seemed so unbelievable that his heart rate accelerated twice its beat.
Looking over the computer screen, Eveline sighed as she saw the man who had been absorbed in reading the book he was holding.
“Thank God,” she whispered contently as a faint smile slowly made its way onto her face and turned to face Gabriel.
Eveline flinched when she found Gabriel’s face extremely close to her, and not to forget those serene eyes that eyed her shamelessly.

A fit of wrath broke through and she shot her forehead at his nose on purpose, ending his blatant stare and covering his mouth before he could scream in agony once more.
Gabriel stared at Eveline with wide eyes, stunned by her behavior. She deliberately smacked her forehead against his nose, but rather than reprimanding her, he found her gesture cute enough to let this behavior slide.
Gabriel received a sharp look from Eveline, who questioned, “Did you forget what I told you, and why did you come here at all? Stay out of my problem, you asshole.” Feeling repulsed by the saliva stuck in her hand, she abruptly pulled her palm away from his mouth and wiped it on her skirt.
Gabriel’s expression darkened as he noticed her subtle gesture, which made him want to scream at her.
“And I informed you that in order to clear names, we must cooperate.” Gabriel reminded her while keeping his anger at bay.
He hated when Eveline would tell him to stay out of her life. It was like a constant reminder that made him know that she no longer felt anything for him and that made him feel furious.
He admitted being a jerk to think so lowly of her, but he apologized. Though he was met with rejection, he was determined to pursue the matter and ask for her pardon. But her incessant reminders of how much she detested being with him broke his heart.
Eveline clenched her teeth, about to jab her fingers into his menacing eyes, but she held herself back, not wanting to make a scene.
She closed her eyes, turned her head back to the computer, and inhaled deeply. Now that her plan to track down the offender had fallen through, she was able to uncover Alex’s deception.
Eveline realized going after him would be useless, and she would have to find another way when suddenly someone sitting next to her startled her out of her thoughts.
“That’s why I asked you not to go after him. When he claimed that someone gave him the pictures, I knew he was lying.”
Eveline shot her head in Gabriel’s direction. On her face was a look of dismay.
“…”
