Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 351
Chapter 351: Are you sure we are trusting the right man Chapter 351: Are you sure we are trusting the right man After using the restroom, Erna completed her nightly routine and got into bed beside Jonathan.
Her moderate headache was making her hiss intermittently, which led to grabbing Jonathan’s attention.
“What’s the matter? Don’t you feel good?” Jonathan inquired, observing the anxious expression on her face.
He reached out his hand and caressed her forehead.
“You seem to have a mild fever,” he replied, peering at her with concern.
Erna dismissed his worries with a smile.
“Don’t worry, it’s just a mild headache.
I’ll have the medicine and it’ll be gone in no time,” she said, turning to take it from the side table drawer.
She quickly gulped it down and lay down on the bed.
The weight had been pressing on Erna’s mind for some time, but she chose to disregard it, assuming it would eventually lift.
Nonetheless, it seemed to deteriorate over time, necessitating medication.
“Are you sure it’s not that serious?” Jonathan, dubious, inquired.
Erna smiled.
“No, I am completely OK.
Now go to sleep,” she urged, pulling his arm, and Jonathan carefully lay down next to her.
Turning slightly, he switched off the lights and drew the comforter up, securing Erna beneath it.
“Good night,” he murmured, putting a gentle kiss on Erna’s forehead.
“Good night,” she murmured, her eyes slowly shutting as the drug took effect.
**** Ella left the house early the next morning and drove to the designated meeting point.
She entered the restaurant as soon as she arrived, only to discover that the person she was looking for was already waiting for her.
“Mr.
Denovan seems quite eager for the meeting,” she remarked sarcastically, pulling a chair for herself to sit across from him at the table.
“Why wouldn’t I?” After all, you finally decided to accept my offer,” Jedrick continued, his eyes piercing yet serene, as if anyone gazing at them would be misled by his grin.
Everything that came from him was crafty.
He possessed a sinister demeanor that had the potential to devastate everyone.
However, she did not fall for it.
Ella nodded, giving a sardonic smile.
“We’ll see if I can keep my thoughts straight and don’t change my mind by the end of this meeting,” Ella answered, seeing the little twitch on his lips but continuing to pretend.
Jedrick attempted to see through her intentions, but the girl covered them successfully.
There was nothing wrong with what he could see, but her gaze evoked feelings within him.

“And I am certain you will not change your mind,” he stated confidently.
Jedrick was eager to get this girl on his side.
She was the key player he planned to use in the future, and he would ensure she didn’t change her mind.
“So let’s begin the meeting,” he murmured, bracing himself for anything the girl threw at him while Ella smirked in response to his confidence.
**** “So do you agree with all my conditions?” Ella inquired, fixing her serious eyes on Jedrick.
Despite feeling contemplative, he responded with a nod.
“I will do what you say, but you cannot go back on your word.
“To be clear, I do not spare those who betray me,” he warned, sending a chill down Ella’s spine.
She refused to budge, remaining calm throughout. “Okay,” she responded, pulling a file from her bag and placing it before Jedrick.
“Let’s sign it together,” she replied, pointing to the document.
Jedrick looked at the file before him, then back at Ella.
He took a deep breath before pulling the pen from his suit pocket and hurriedly signing the paper.
Ella did the same.
She signed and then handed it over to Jedrick, who signed as well.
So we’ve sealed the deal,” he said.
“But make sure no one knows,” he said, and Ella nodded in agreement.
After the meeting was concluded, Jedrick and Ella exited the restaurant.
The moment she saw Jedrick’s car speed away, she jumped into hers.
“Did he get suspicious?” Stefan, who was inside the car, inquired.
Ella shook her head, dug out the document she made Jedrick sign, and handed it to Stefan.
“He did agree with all of the clauses,” she remarked, glancing at Stefan as he rambled through the papers Jedrick was holding.
“That’s great.” Stefan added, “From now on, you must convince him that you are on his side and that he has nothing to worry about.” Ella agreed, but she was still unsure whether their strategy would succeed.
“Are you sure we’re trusting the right person?” she inquired skeptically.
Stefan froze, his gaze fixed on her.
Her eyes showed signs of contemplation.
“For now, he is the only one we can trust,” he added, deepening the furrow between her brows.
There is no room for dispute when it comes to Stefan’s intuition; he would never be incorrect.
So when the person approached him, it did not take him much time to agree with him.
Putting his ideas aside, Stefan reached for his phone and dialed a number.
“Yes, we got the papers signed,” he said as soon as the phone was answered.
Ella watched Stefan negotiate with the man until he finally hung up.
She was nervous, but she was also committed to the step they took, and she couldn’t wait to bring Jedrick down and make him pay for his sins.

As the family sat down to breakfast, Eveline couldn’t help but notice that Erna was noticeably absent from the table.
“What’s wrong, Mom?
Why are you looking so pale?” She asked, setting her spoon aside.
Jonathan sensed Erna’s distress and inquired about it.
“Do you still have the headache?” he asked.
Erna gazed at them hopelessly and smiled weakly.
She expected the medication to work and her headache to be gone by the next morning.
But, to her dismay, things worsened even further.
“No, I’m fine,” she answered, attempting to ignore the throbbing in her head, but no one believed her.
“I don’t think so, Mom. Should I call the doctor?” Eveline impulsively slid her hand into her pocket, pulled out her phone, and prepared to make a call.
“There’s no need for it.
I’ll merely sleep for a while and heal.” Erna intervened, and Eveline retracted from making a call.
“Are you certain there is no need for me to take you to the doctor?
I do not observe any change, despite your assertion that the medication would be helpful.
In fact, you appear too tired to be okay.” Jonathan expressed his worries.
He had already advised she see their family doctor, but she declined, claiming the headache was minor and that medicine would help.
But she looks more worse now than she did last night.
“You both should stop worrying so much,” Erna persisted.
She couldn’t let them worry about her since it might eventually lead to one of them staying back for her, which she didn’t want.
She did not want to miss today’s session with Sherlyn.
Erna was determined to learn the truth as soon as possible and put an end to this misery for everyone.
And the longer she delays, the less time she has.
Eveline and Jonathan exchanged a disappointed gaze.
“Fine, but if your headache worsens, just call any of us, okay?” Eveline added, not really convinced.
Erna nodded as they resumed their breakfasts and headed for work.
Erna carefully returned to her room, opening the side table drawer to retrieve the medicine.
She quickly gulped it down with water and waited a few minutes until she felt better.
“Now it’s time for me to leave,” she muttered before swiftly grabbing her purse and leaving the Miller residence.
