Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 354
Chapter 354: It was you Chapter 354: It was you Erna’s head spun, and her body felt lighter.
She had no idea what was going on with her, but her body was burning with need.
“Where are you taking me?” she asked weakly as Jedrick carried her somewhere.
She recalled drinking with him until something felt wrong, and she felt vulnerable.
Erna sank onto his shoulder, exhausted and limp, her eyes fluttering shut.
“Bring him,” she vaguely heard Jedrick’s voice as her eyes flickered open.
Her vision was hazy, but she knew the man Jedrick had commanded.
Erna became restless as her body demanded more, and she began to remove her garments.
Jedrick smirked and exited the room, turning off the light.
“Please help,” Erna muttered as she reached to zip her attire low.
She labored with each step, but then a light appeared as a figure lurched toward her.
Erna climbed down from the bed and stumbled towards the person, pouncing on him.
“Help; help me, please.” In the brief time before the door closed, the light from outside landed on the man’s face, causing her lips to smile widely.
“Jonathan,” she cried out, and the next moment the man pressed her against the wall, grabbing her lips for a hungry kiss.
Erna couldn’t forget their touch or the passionate night they spent together, but the drug they were given obliterated all of their memories, and when she awoke the next morning, she was in Jedrick’s arms.
[Present] “He used us all as pawns in his game,” Erna said, her voice cracking.
“But I’m glad it wasn’t anyone other than you,” she said, turning to face Jonathan, who repeatedly kissed her knuckles.
“Eveline is truly your child,” she stated proudly, putting an end to the lies that Jedrick had forced them to believe for so long.
Eveline was happy.
It was obvious on her face, but then something clicked, and she asked, “But the DNA reports-” “He must have faked it,” Erna said.
Nothing could be believed when it came to Jedrick, and she was certain that he pulled some strings to get things done his way.
“You still doubt?” Gabriel inquired, noting the hesitancy on her face.
“Let us do it now.
I already have Mrs.
Miller’s sample; let’s get yours and Mr.
Miller’s too,” Sherlyn said, making things easier for them.
Within an hour, the reports were out, confirming that Eveline was indeed Jonathan’s daughter.
A rush of comfort washed over them as Jonathan embraced Eveline in a fatherly hug.
“I always knew you were mine,” he whispered, kissing her forehead.
While everyone was delighted, Gabriel was preoccupied with his own thoughts.
Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".
He realized how Jedrick contradicted everything, even tricking him in the process.
He was definitely guiding them according to his will, making them believe his lies.
But was there any way to get past him?
**** Thud!
Eveline closed the car door and turned to face Gabriel.
“Something is going through your mind?” she asked, pinching his chin.
Eveline had already sensed his silence.
While she was overjoyed with the news, he appeared to be reflecting on something.
Gabriel closed his eyes, leaning in to her touch, and murmured, “He purposefully confessed to me about you being his daughter while also fabricating the entire truth when I conducted the DNA test between you and your father.
He fooled my informant into giving the incorrect reports.” Gabriel was finally able to link it all.
He forgot that Jedrick was not the type to make impulsive decisions.
“So, does that mean he already knows we are aware of the truth?” he inquired, leaving Eveline bewildered.
Her palm fell from his chin as she digested his comment, her heart palpitating within.
Everything is possible with Jedrick.
And if he was already aware that they knew the truth, does it imply he had already made his next move?
**** [Sherlyn’s Apartment] “Your coffee,” Kaden said, placing two coffee cups on the table in front of Sherlyn and taking a seat next to her.
“Here,” he said, offering her one cup.
Sherlyn sighed and accepted the cup.
“Honestly, you didn’t have to do that.
A glass of water was sufficient,” she stated.
Sherlyn was fatigued from all of the errands, but Kaden decided to join her and insisted on making coffee for them.
“I know, but let me take care of my girlfriend,” he pleaded, grasping his coffee cup.
Sherlyn smiled, not arguing much, as the two continued to enjoy their coffee.
“Your sister is really strong.
I’m glad she was able to fight it all despite everything she went through, both mentally and physically,” she stated, grasping Kaden’s attention.
“She is,” Kaden answered, setting the cup down on the table and turning to face her.
“You know, I always thought Jedrick was paranoid.
I mean, I saw him acting outside of his character and tried to warn my sister.
However, because I was the smaller one, my words were never taken seriously.
Being a shy kid had its disadvantages,” he whispered.
“But you were not shy around me.
You used to talk a lot, and you forgot the day we first met.
You tried to befriend me,” Sherlyn recalled, her lips curving into a mischievous grin.
“I purposefully did that,” he murmured, abruptly drawing his face closer to hers.
“I fell in love with you at first sight,” he claimed, completely catching Sherlyn off guard.
Before the cup in her fingers could slip, she hastily set it on the table and turned to face him.
“You fell in love with me at first sight?” she questioned, and he nodded, smiling.
“Then why did you never approach me that way?” she asked with disheartenment.
Sherlyn assumed it was only she who had been thoroughly whipped by him when they first met.
But she was wrong; he felt the same way.
Her attractiveness completely captivated Kaden.
The way her eyes glistened like a child reminded him of their previous interactions. When they used to converse and share about their life, she would listen to him without passing judgment.
But he was always afraid that his dream would lead to their separation, so he hesitated to reveal anything.
Keeping silent, Kaden swept his gaze across her face, slowly reaching to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear and said, “I didn’t want to break your heart.
Furthermore, I believed being friends with you was better when I couldn’t promise you a future.
Sherlyn pouted, “But I wanted more than friendship.
You know how many times I wanted to hug and kiss you.
I wanted to lend you my shoulder because you open up to me and share your emotions.
I wanted you to believe in me with your love, Kaden; otherwise, I would not have comprehended your aspirations and allowed you to live them.” Kaden’s heart skipped a beat.
The depth of her knowledge and regard for him was evident in those remarks.
“Even if you had not told me, I would still wait for you because I knew there was no one else for me but you,” she informed him while touching his forehead.
Sherlyn was distraught when they parted ways, with Kaden fully cutting ties with them, but she refused to give up.
She tried to keep him close by asking everyone she knew she met.
All she wanted was to know that wherever Kaden was, he was okay and living his dream.
Kaden gazed deep into her eyes, allowing a tear to fall, then kissed her before she could cry any farther.
“Thank you for waiting for me, Sherlyn,” he muttered, pausing briefly before capturing her lips again.
