Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 356
Chapter 356: You should leave this place Chapter 356: You should leave this place It took Sherlyn a few seconds to realize, but once she did, she found herself drawn to his kiss.
She had no idea how addictive it would become until she found herself needing more.
As the couple proceeded to devour one another, heading for a morning session, a phone call interrupted the moment.
“Argh!” Kaden grunted in frustration, while Sherlyn giggled, calming him.
“Don’t be so grumpy,” she urged, touching his face, and he felt calmer.
When Kaden got off, he grabbed the phone that was ringing and snapped.
“Hello!” Sherlyn couldn’t stop smiling as she rested her head on her elbow and looked at the annoyed man in front of her.
Kaden was prepared to punish whoever dared to interrupt him, but the moment he heard Luke’s voice, all of his aggravation went out the window, and his visage darkened.
“Okay, get going and see what they have to say,” he stated over the phone, then gave a few more instructions before hanging up.
“What happened?” Sherlyn noted his gloomy expression and stood up, slowly resting against his back.
Her fingers caressed his shoulder as she watched him turn to look at her.
“It is about Bernard.
Luke doubts he is out there to meet someone discreetly,” he stated in a serious tone.
Sherlyn contemplated his words.
She suspected she had heard of this name before.
Kaden noted her quietness and inquired, “What happened?
Why do you look so confused?” Sherlyn cast him a skeptical look, her head slightly shaking in confusion.
“I believe I’ve heard this name before,” she added, prompting Kaden’s brow to wrinkle even further.
He then turned around and lifted her up to sit in his lap.
“What are you saying?” he questioned.
Sherlyn regained her composure and thought for a moment more before recalling a case involving a man named Bernard that she and one of her colleague doctors had worked on previously.
“He was one of the difficult patients with severe depression and anger issues.” Kaden listened to her intently.
Her subsequent explanations were incomprehensible since the Bernard he knows has never looked like someone with mental illness.
“It took us a while to treat him, but suddenly one day he stopped coming to the hospital and we also lost touch with him,” she said.
Sherlyn completed a few internships and practiced her profession under the supervision of a few well-known doctors before founding her own clinic.
During her internship, she met this middle-aged man.
He left Kaden to reflect deeply.
He swiftly reached out for his phone and showed her something.
“Is he the same Bernard?” he inquired, and she nodded without hesitation.
“It’s him, but how do you know him?” She inquired, still perplexed as to how Kaden came to know that man.

“You remember Leonard, I mentioned searching for?” he asked, and she bowed her head in agreement.
“Bernard is his twin,” he revealed, leaving Sherlyn in astonishment.
Her mind wandered to a conversation they had with Bernard back then, in which he cursed his brother for ruining his life.
“Oh, he was talking about the same brother.
I didn’t realize he was his twin,” Sherlyn muttered to herself, causing Kaden to raise his brow.
He knew that this coincidence could lead to a greater understanding of the entire narrative.
“Sherlyn, can you tell me everything about Bernard’s case?” He spoke, his eyes seriously probing hers.
**** Luke sat at the corner table of a run-down old bar out in the outskirts.
He disguised himself as a local and got himself a drink.
Darting his sight, he spotted numerous people drowning in alcohol.
Some even glammed, but Luke had yet to detect Bernard among the mob.
According to his expertise, he came across Bernard’s meeting schedule but was unable to find the name.
After monitoring Bernard for a while, he realized that the man was not who he appeared to be and had several intriguing sides to him.
Back then, he was able to avoid their interrogation, which eventually led them to the truth about him having a twin named Leonard, who was said to have died a few years earlier.
However, he doubted it was the whole story.
As he proceeded to sip his drink and observe the surroundings, he noticed Bernard make his way inside.
He turned his head and waved at the owner, who grinned and waved back before moving to speak with him.
Luke’s eyes darkened as the man proceeded to act normally with the owner, as if he were a regular visitor here.
Once finished, he took a seat away from him and waited for the guy.
Five minutes later, he noticed him moving in his chair, his eyes shining with excitement.
Luke followed his line of sight only to find Jedrick approaching him.
Bernard rose up and shook his hand before the two left and walked to another door in the bar.
It was doubtful, but Luke mustered his bravery and chose to follow them.
Luke knew the bar was clean, and there was nothing to worry about.
So, when he made his way inside to follow the two, he tried not to appear suspicious.
He saw them take seats at the corner table and slowly followed them, pretending to be drunk, until he was seated directly behind them.
Luke placed his order and started with his act, but what he heard stunned him.
“You should leave this place.
I doubt Kaden and his men will come after you,” Jedrick stated.
“How long do I have to do that?
What about my work here?
I still keep weapons inside my house.
How are you going to move them?” he inquired.
“Do not worry about it.” Jedrick cautioned, “I’ll find a way to import them, but you can’t stay here.” Bernard was hesitant, but he couldn’t refuse Jedrick.
“Okay, make sure I don’t struggle there,” he responded, agreeing to Jedrick’s expectations.
Jedrick took out an envelope from his pocket and placed it on the table before passing it to Bernard.
“Here’s the cash, and you won’t be flying this time.
Board a boat and migrate.” Luke’s brow wrinkled as he heard their words.
Bernard grabbed the package and quickly wrapped the meeting.
The two exited the bar together, with Jedrick driving away in his car and Bernard walking home.
However, he quickly sensed that someone was following him.
His pace quickened as he attempted to reach his residence, but before he could, someone covered his mouth.
