Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 357
Chapter 357: They are all dead Chapter 357: They are all dead “Ah,” the man growled painfully while lying on the ground.
His gaze focused on the person who had just attacked him from behind.
Holding onto his nape, Luke attempted to pull himself up when another kick landed on his stomach, causing him to fall back.
Bernard had his guard up and instructed his men to monitor him, suspecting someone was watching his every move.
When he went after seeing Jedrick, he feigned being terrified in order to appear convincing to the person following him.
“Boss was right when he warned me,” Bernard snarled, recognizing the man on the ground as Luke.
Luke glanced at Bernard with misty eyes before losing consciousness.
“Tie him in the basement and make sure he doesn’t leave alive after I flee,” Bernard told the two guards, who promptly grabbed up Luke and took him away.
Bernard knew he had to act swiftly after realizing his every action was being closely monitored.
He had to leave as soon as possible before another person arrived.
**** Meanwhile, Kaden invited Gabriel and Eveline to the base, informing them of everything Sherlyn had told him.
He almost continued to enlighten him about the most recent update Luke had given him concerning Bernard.
“What’s taking him so long?” Kaden murmured, his sanity slipping away a little.
He felt confidence in Luke, but it had been about five hours since their last conversation, and there had been no news.
“Why don’t you try reaching out to him?” Gabriel expressed his hope that his phone would connect this time.
Kaden was already disappointed, but on Gabriel’s instruction, he called Luke again, and the call went unanswered.
Luke was not an irresponsible teammate, but the delay did not sit well with him.
“I need to check his location,” Kaden declared abruptly.
“Eve, help me track him,” he said, and she immediately began working on it.
It didn’t take her long to find him.
“It’s somewhere around Blackwood Road,” she said.
Kaden furrowed his brow and exchanged a look with Gabriel. “It’s the same community where Bernard lives,” he remarked, garnering Eveline’s attention.
She then looked back at the screen, puzzled.
“But why is he stuck in the same location?
It’s been almost two hours since he moved,” she revealed, adding to Kaden’s suspicions.
“I think he’s trouble,” he said unexpectedly.
“Eveline, try looking for more, and Gabriel, would it be okay for you to join me?” he asked, gazing at Gabriel, who stood up swiftly.
“Where are you going?” Sherlyn asked, taking a step toward Kaden.
“We need to locate Luke,” he whispered, and they swiftly departed.
Kaden wanted to keep his visit private, so he trusted Gabriel while asking Eveline to stay in touch with them and keep them updated on any obstacles that arose.

He suspected something wasn’t right because Luke would have returned by now.
**** Meanwhile, inside the basement, Luke stirred slightly.
The pain spread from his head to his nape, and he gradually opened his eyes.
His chest heaved as he tried to register the location, but then a thought occurred and he panicked.
“Did Bernard already flee?” He recalled his chat with Jedrick, and a sense of defeat filled his head.
Despite their caution, Bernard’s men were successful in apprehending him.
As his mind raced, Luke attempted to plan his escape in order to avoid losing Bernard.
He scoured the entire area for something to remove the rope that was tied around his wrist.
Another idea occurred to him, and he utilized his escape skill honed in the field to remove the rope from his hand and walk towards the door.
Just when he thought the route was clear, he noticed the men protecting the door.
Luke gaped the moment the man noticed him, then dashed to hit him.
Luke averted his attack by grabbing his arm, bending it behind his back, and knocking his elbow in the head.
The man collapsed, and Luke swiftly grabbed the gun and a cutter from his pocket before fleeing.
Meanwhile Bernard grabbed his belongings and headed to the port, where he would board a boat and flee to another nation.
He was convinced that with his men guarding Luke, there was no reason to be concerned and that once he boarded the boat, he would tell them to kill the man.
***** Near the spot where they traced Luke’s number, a car screeched.
Both Kaden and Gabriel walked out and began gazing about, desperately looking for Luke.
“Uncle,” Gabriel yelled, and Kaden walked towards him.
“They’ve pulled someone away.” Do you see the footmark?” he added, pointing to the ground.
Kaden squatted on one knee and examined the print.
He took out his phone and called Luke.
The phone continued to ring, and the two looked in the direction of the sound.
Something drew their attention, and Gabriel dashed to answer the phone.
“It’s him,” he said, ending the call.
Kaden stood up, his countenance unreadable.
“He’s somewhere around,” he murmured, darting his gaze around.
Gabriel’s brow furrowed as he followed his gaze; nonetheless, they could not see anyone.
Kaden then called Eveline and requested her to find Bernard’s location.
“Just a second,” she whispered, running her fingers across the keyboard, and she quickly found his location.
“He is somewhere near Westline ports,” she replied, leading Kaden to think about her comments.
His eyes met Gabriel’s, and both of them anticipated the same thing.
“He is attempting to flee,” they muttered together, and without wasting a second, they jumped into the car and headed to the place.
**** Meanwhile, Bernard had arrived at the location and was waiting for the boat to come.
He was convinced that he would succeed now that he had complete authority.
“Should I check to see if Luke is awake?” he said, his curiosity piqued.
He didn’t want to waste his time on things like that when he knew his men could handle everything, but doubt lingered, and he swiftly removed his phone from his pocket and contacted one of his men who was watching Luke’s room.
The ring persisted, yet no one answered.
His brow furrowed as he tried to summon another guard, only to encounter the same indifference.
“What the hell is going on? Why is no one responding?
He remarked this as he gently excused himself to a private location.
He made a call to another guard and waited for his response.
“No one will answer.
They are all dead,” a voice whispered from behind him, causing his entire body to freeze.
Bernard gently turned his head to look behind him, and as his eyes met the enraged glare, his spirit left his body.
“H-How is this possible?” he murmured as blood drained from his face, looking at the man in terror.
