Chapter 359: Does this mean someone from my team is working for them?
When Gabriel and Eveline arrived home, everyone had already gone to bed.
It was because Erna had been discharged from the hospital and needed rest.
“I’ll need to take a shower. I still smell blood on myself,” Gabriel stated as he removed his hood.
He may not admit it, but seeing that much blood terrified him.
Only he knew how he managed to drive his car while everything inside him was stirring.
It was a phobia he developed as a result of his earlier experiences, particularly after seeing Eveline covered in blood after falling off the balcony.
“I’ll get a pair of clothes for you,” Eveline murmured, turning to walk toward the wardrobe, but Gabriel stopped her.
“Assist me with the bath,” he asked, making her stare into his eyes.
His silent plea compelled her to comply with his request, and they both entered the bathroom.
Eveline filled the tub with warm water.
After adding a few drops of essential oil, she turned to face Gabriel, who was already naked in front of her.
“Undress,” he urged, and she snapped out of her daze and began slipping out of her garments.
Gabriel extended his hand to her, and Eveline accepted it before they both entered the bathtub, soaking their lower bodies.
Eveline positioned herself comfortably between his knees while facing him, then cupped a quantity of water in her hand and poured it across his chest.
“What’s wrong? Why are you suddenly so quiet?” Eveline inquired, noting the silence on his face.
Gabriel glanced at her with blank eyes and remarked, “I suddenly feel dirty. The smell of blood makes me vomit.” Eveline hesitated as she absorbed his words.
He had just comforted her and shown his own discomfort.
“Was it because it was your first time seeing so much blood?” she questioned, touching his face.
Her thumb lightly caressed his cheek.
Gabriel closed his eyes and felt the tightness in his muscles release.
The touch was gentle but pleasant enough to relax his mind.
“No, because it reminds me of your fall,” he stated abruptly, and she paused, peering at him with doubt.
Gabriel rarely brought up the topic of the past, but when he did, something inside her stirred.
She could tell how much it hurt him since, even after being forgiven, he occasionally remembered it.
He lifted his hand from the water, a few drops dripping down.
“I carried you in my arms. You were drenched in blood and hardly listening to my cries,” he added, prompting her eyelashes to twitch with anxiety.
“I hated myself for not telling you sooner that it was all a ruse to expose Tiffany, but it was too late.
I could see you sliding out of my grip.” Gabriel’s voice trembled, and he raised his bloodshot eyes, staring right at her.

“And I lost you,” he stated, his voice scarcely audible.
Eveline shook her head and moved closer to him.
Her hands wrapped around his shoulder, and she leaned forward, resting their foreheads together.
“It’s all in the past, and I’m right in front of you,” she whispered, nuzzling against his face.
Gabriel’s hands around her waist tightened, and he collected her up to sit on her lap.
“I understand, and I am glad you are here,” he said, brushing their lips together.
It was only a passing moment when his history flashed before his eyes, but he felt better thinking he’d get over it now that Eveline was gone.
Gabriel didn’t waste time and sealed her lips.
Their bare chests touched, and Eveline flung her arms around his neck, devouring him.
The flames of desire rekindled as the couple lost themselves in the passionate moment.
While their lips continued to savor each other, Eveline moved slightly, laying her opening on his throbbing bulge.
Gabriel groaned as he feared things would worsen and he had nothing to wear.
“Let’s stop it here,” he murmured quickly, pushing back.
Eveline drew back, watching his resistance.
They were already in the process of losing themselves; why would he stop?
“I don’t have a condom, baby,” Gabriel stated before Eveline misinterpreted his words.
His hot, veiny dick turned Eveline on the moment it rubbed against her clit, and leaving her hanging was not an option here.
“Just pull out when you come,” she murmured, disregarding his entire claim and pounced on him, locking his lips once more.
At this point, Eveline didn’t care.
All she wanted was to console him since it was the only way she could find calm.
She wanted to delete all of the memories that had horrified them, albeit for different reasons.
Gabriel embraced the situation without hesitation.
He groaned as he felt a wave of blood rush through his veins as soon as he slid in.
“Why are you so tight?” he inquired, breathing heavily.
“Perhaps it’s due to the position,” she responded, returning his kiss.
Eveline continued to grind, her hips bouncing against his legs and squeezing his dick with her pelvic muscle.
Gabriel caressed her breast and kneaded it, hearing a muffled gasp in response.
He’d had a long day, and they were both ready to relax.
It didn’t take long for them to reach their peak, and Gabriel pulled out as they both arrived at the same time, as directed.
Eveline helped them clean up before Gabriel carried her to bed and tucked them under the covers.
“Did that help?” she asked, directing her gaze to him; he nodded.
“And you?” he inquired, and she moved in to kiss him.
“Hm.” The pair quickly fell asleep, but somewhere in the corner of City P, Jedrick caused mayhem when he discovered Bernard had made it to the other end of the country.
“How the hell did I not see this coming!” Jedrick snapped and smashed the first thing that came into his grasp against the wall.
Rick cringed at his boss’s outburst.
He had never seen his boss so upset, yet he stood quietly.
Even he was astonished to find that all of their men had been slain, and Bernard, who was meant to evacuate, did not make it.
“What about the weapons?
Has the legal team already received the weapons?” Jedrick inquired, darting his furious eyes at Rick and he shook his head.
Nope.
The firearms are still on the premises, and I seriously doubt they will ever deal with the legal team.
If that were the case, the cops would have shown up there, but they did not,” he said, his tone calm but cautious.
Jedrick’s scheme was well-organized.
He knew that with the needle of doubt lingering on Bernard, Kaden would soon discover his identity, but first he intended to send him away to a place where no one would ever know.
However, he failed to notice that, despite being two steps ahead, Kaden and his crew were able to get the individual they had attempted to hide from them.
‘They will learn everything now,’ he snarled as his scheme failed in front of his eyes.
Jedrick felt he had everything under control, but he was mistaken, but then something clicked in his mind.
“But how did Kaden find out about my meeting with Bernard?” His comments echoed across the solemn room, taking Rick aback.
“H-How would I know, boss?” He faltered, grabbing Jedrick’s piercing gaze.
Jedrick had only mentioned his leaving with his crew, but they had little idea where he was going.
