If he had any doubts about the man departing, he would have informed them.

He felt a sense of relief that Kaden and Gabriel managed to locate him.

If not them, he wondered if he could even get to them on his own.

“But how did you find out that Jedrick was going to meet Bernard?” Gabriel inquired, the thought from yesterday still lingering in the back of his mind.

Kaden darted his eyes at Luke and observed him taking a deep breath as he made a slight adjustment on his bed.

“I received a message from an unknown ID,” he said, glancing at all the curious eyes.

“Unrecognized Identifier?” Eveline murmured, and he acknowledged her with a nod.

In the beginning, I thought it was a joke, but it seems unlikely that anyone would risk infiltrating your encrypted system only to disappear without a trace.” Luke’s words sparked numerous questions in their minds.

“Who would be willing to assist us?” Eveline inquired, her thoughts arriving at a decisive resolution.

It was impossible for anyone to disclose the information about Jedrick and Bernard’s meeting unless that individual had intentions of assisting them.

“Perhaps it’s him, the spy your father placed on Jedrick’s side,” Kaden declared, capturing everyone’s attention.

This wasn’t the first time someone had tried to help them.

Back then, it happened the same with Marco.

But now all of a sudden, they are interested in the man piqued and they wanted to learn more about him.

“If that’s the situation, then I believe there’s no reason to ask Dad.

I doubt he would share anything with us unless he brings Jedrick down.

“Eveline let out a sigh, fully cognizant of her father’s choice.

Gabriel nodded in agreement with her.

“Though, I am curious about the identity of this man willing to put his life on the line for his father.” Kaden suddenly spoke, his words intriguing enough to make everyone ponder.

“Leader,” a voice suddenly grabbed their attention, and Kaden frowned as he noticed one of his teammates walking in anxiously.

“He is back at it” Kaden sighed dramatically and got to his feet, preparing to walk away.

“This won’t go well,” he muttered as he exited the room and made his way to Bernard’s cell, where he once again began to stir up trouble.

“We must ensure he stays with us.

He could serve as evidence against Jedrick,” Luke asserted confidently.

“By the way, how did Bernard know he was being followed?” Gabriel inquired.

Jedrick cautioned him about being watched.

He also wanted to transport those weapons once Bernard had safely landed in another country,” Luke kept informing them about the conversation between Jedrick and Bernard.

“He had his plan meticulously laid out, and I suspect it’s not merely about taking your father down; he also aims to rightfully claim his place in the underworld.” Luke had been observing Jedrick for years, ever since he and Kaden were added to the list aimed at dismantling all the mafia organizations.

Yet, the origins that penetrate the shadowy realm start with Jedrick.

Eveline understood that Jedrick was in pursuit of power, and although he held some influence, he still lacked the necessary support that would only be secured once he became the rightful heir to her grandfather’s will.

But why was he still fixated on it when the will clearly stated that the wealth would ultimately go to the trust if not to his biological son?

“You still believe that with his extensive network, you can bring down all his businesses?” Gabriel’s voice interrupted her thoughts.

“I’m not sure, but we can pause his activities,” Luke stated.

In just a few months, they succeeded in seizing control of Jedrick’s business, significantly reducing his net worth.

If they persist in their scrutiny, they might be able to bring enough charges against him to detain him.

As Gabriel and Eveline engaged in conversation with Luke, Kaden remained seated in the dark cell before Bernard, who stubbornly refused to comply despite the significant threat looming over him.

“I said let me go,” Bernard sneered, his eyes blazing with fury as he glared at Kaden.

“You still don’t understand, do you?” Allow me to remind you once more.

Kaden’s words left the man staring at him in disbelief.

Kaden disliked repeating himself, so he let Bernard continue the act before standing up to depart.

“If he continues to speak nonsense, electrode him,” those chilling words from Kaden left Bernard stunned, and he shook his head in disbelief.

You are misunderstanding everything.

I am not Leonard,” he cried as he watched Kaden leave.

But before he could step out, he stopped and turned back to look at him.

“You may refuse to accept it, but we have indeed discovered Bernard’s remains buried in the backyard of his house.” Leonard’s face lost all color.

His mind and body stiffened at the thought of his secret being revealed.

He did kill his brother and steal his identity; however, he never once imagined they would uncover the truth, even after fabricating every detail.
