Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 363
Chapter 363: He is with Jedrick for a reason Chapter 363: He is with Jedrick for a reason Stefan stepped out from his father’s office, when a call from Eveline stopped him in his tracks.
He furrowed his brow and quickly answered the call; however, the words she screamed from the other end left him speechless.
Twenty minutes later, he found himself under a pair of scrutinizing stares inside a café, and he couldn’t help but flinch in his seat every time he looked up.
“Care to explain, brother Stefan?” Eveline asked, pointing to the photographs in the guide, leaving Stefan in a quandary.
He looked at Gabriel, who remained completely unfazed by everything that was happening around him.
He clearly understood that his friend was just as eager as Eveline.
“Can you both please stop scaring me?
I am suddenly feeling a surge of intensity.” Eveline gave a sneer and then slammed her fist down on the table, glaring at the two guys.
“Oh, absolutely, because I’m going to break you down piece by piece. Let’s sever the conversation and focus on the matter at hand.
What is going on, and what are you keeping from us?” Eveline endeavored to keep her calm after losing her temper.
However, it made a lasting impact on both men who had just fled from the gathering storm.
Stefan paused for a moment, yet Eveline’s persistence encouraged him to share.
“Jedrick is the reason Aunt fell into depression.” as soon as he uttered those words, Eveline’s expression darkened.
Stefan took a deep breath, gathering his thoughts, and continued, “He would give her drugs, exploiting her emotions.
He deceived her into believing he was there for her until she began to rely on him emotionally.
She believed Jedrick loved her, yet she was mistaken.
One day, she overheard him conversing with his friends about his intentions to exploit her, and that was the moment everything changed.
It was the first time since that incident that she attempted to end her life.” The revelation shocked both Eveline and Gabriel.
Although they were aware that Stefan’s aunt passed away at a young age, they had no knowledge of the reason behind it.
“Grandpa believed that bringing her back and immersing her in work would be beneficial, but it only ended up harming her even more.
She underwent therapies and medication to appear normal on the surface.
However, it offered little assistance to her until one fateful day when it broke, and she leaped from the terrace of their family home.” Stefan ultimately revealed the entire truth, eliminating any possibility of doubt.
“So, Uncle Marcus is seeking revenge now?” Gabriel spoke, his gaze fixed intently on Stefan as he finally hit the right note.
“Yes,” “And how can all the shareholders withdrawing their shares from the company help him get the revenge?” Eveline questioned.
“He is making rooms for Jedrick.” Stefan’s words left both of them astonished.
“You must be joking,” Eveline struggled to understand what Stefan was attempting to convey.
The decision to ask Uncle Richard to withdraw his shares was made solely to make room for Jedrick to take control and ruin everything for him.
That was merely an unwise decision.
“Neither I nor Dad is being reckless in this situation.” Stefan confidently assured them, “He knows what he is doing, and I am going to help him with it.” Eveline paused for a moment, her eyes locking with his determined gaze that caused her to set aside her repulsion.
“There is also one thing we need to tell you,” Gabriel said, acquiring their attention.

He exchanged a glance with Eveline, who swiftly flipped through the pages of the guide before handing it back to Stefan.
His eyes moved to the photo she pointed at; however, he remained unfazed, leaving both Gabriel and Eveline perplexed.
But soon, something struck them, and their eyes narrowed with suspicion.
“You do know something,” Eveline said.
Stefan would never remain unperturbed during such a significant revelation unless he possessed knowledge that others lacked.
“But you have to keep it to yourselves.” They both frowned in uncertainty but ultimately came to an agreement.
Stefan remained still; however, his mind slowly drifted to the time when Jedrick first approached Ella, back in his company.
After leaving the premises, Stefan soon received a call from Rick, who requested a face-to-face meeting.
Initially, he found it hard to accept, yet something prompted him to reflect on his method.
He remembered how the man appeared unconcerned with them as they stood outside Jedrick’s office.
His demeanor was noticeably tense as he repeatedly glanced at the closed door.
He wouldn’t have done that-he was responsible for his daughter, who was alone with her “father.” As soon as Ella stepped out, with Jedrick in tow, he reverted to his stoic demeanor.
“He was the one to alert me about Jedrick’s intention toward Ella,” Stefan said, darting his eyes at them, a sense of affirmation washing over, leaving them muddled.
“So, you trust him?” Eveline inquired, releasing a dramatic scoff.
“He is there with Jedrick for a reason,” Stefan stated, maintaining a composed demeanor.
“And what is that purpose aside from him being the one we can’t trust?” she exclaimed, still unable to comprehend his calmness.
“It may seem like a cliché, yet he was a person who genuinely cared for my aunt, someone who sincerely wished to support her if she had allowed him to.
A heartbroken admirer profoundly affected by her passing.” “Rick was in love with your aunt?” Gabriel and Eveline inquired simultaneously.
“Yes, but before he could tell her, Grandpa had already taken her away after the college authority informed him about her suicidal attempt,” Stefan said.
He was surprised to discover that his aunt had once had a secret lover who was willing to take risks for her.
Regrettably, his love never reached the shore, as his aunt was the first to depart, even without realizing it.
However, that individual carried a wound that seemed to never heal.
Eveline contemplated Stefan’s words and asked, “Does Uncle know about it?” Stefan shook his head.
“No, he doesn’t, but there is someone else who is aware of it.” His eyes, filled with doubt, moved between Eveline and Gabriel.
“Who?” “Your father,” Stefan said, fixing his gaze on Eveline.
“The spy he sent to work with Jedrick is none other than Rick,” he revealed, leaving them both in utter shock.
