Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 44
Chapter 44: How do you know ?
“Jack, watch what you say. Observe who you are speaking of.” The guy immediately withdrew after Stefan gave him the warning, but Gabriel’s disposition soured upon seeing Eveline with Alex.
His words were bluntly ignored by Eveline and that irked Gabriel a lot.
“Come on, Gabby, ignore them, and let us just focus on the practice.” Stefan tried to divert Gabriel’s attention, but all he got in return was a chilly stare.
Gabriel let go of the basketball in his hand and walked towards Stefan dangerously.
“Why did not you tell me Eveline knows hacking?” he asked, leading him to a corner of the ground. “Oh, in fact, you are the one who taught her.” Gabriel had humor in his words, however, his eyes were drilling holes into his soul.
“Gab, I-I can explain,” stumbled Stefan, realizing that he had been wrong to withhold such a significant aspect of Eveline from him.
“You do, and believe me when I say that I will not spare you, Stefan, if you dare to keep any loopholes.” Gabriel’s warning wasn’t fleeting.
Stefan knew that if his friend lost his cool, he would be gone forever, and he meant what he said.
In a panic, Stefan nodded his head and related how Eveline had once caught him smoking in his room. To prevent her from telling his parents about it, he acceded to her request and offered to teach her hacking during the summer.
“That’s why you refused to come to the camp that we planned during the summer vacation?” Gabriel asked doubtfully.
“Well, I was meant to teach Eveline about technology and computers, but you know what? She ended up being smarter than me!” Stefan proclaimed with pride, “Damn, you should have just witnessed that, bro—she is a genius. She made such quick movements with her fingers on the keyboard that she ended up beating my record.”
Gabriel clenched his jaw, giving a shooting glare at Stefan and he quickly stopped smiling.
“You are aware of what your direction has done to her. She tried to hack Alex’s ID the other day and found that he was lying,” Gabriel declared, leaving Stefan shocked for a moment before bursting into a peel of laughter.
“That’s so like Eveline. You know she had been so intrigued by the whole hacking thing that she even stalked you-“Stefan hesitated, his eyes going wide with surprise at the words he had just blurted out.
Gabriel’s face darkened hearing his words and he dangerously took a step closer to him.
“Did she break into my network?” He questioned, sending shivers down Stefan’s back.
Stefan felt like crying for disclosing some details Eveline only shared with him.
“S-She didn’t mean to stalk you in that way. She was simply l-learning, you know.” Stefan tried to explain but Gabriel cut his words off.
“Did she secretly access my account, Stefan? That is the question I posed to you.” Stefan sobbed helplessly at Gabriel’s harsh words, which were more akin to a warning, before he nodded his head silently.
“What all did she see?” Gabriel asked while clenching his jaw.
He was about to raise his hand and shove Stefan in the face, but he was still patient enough to gauge how much Eveline learned to manage to stalk him through his assistance.
“N-Nothing, as I prevented her from doing so.” Stefan quickly spoke in defense before Gabriel smacked his face.
“You stopped her?”
“Yes, I did. Therefore, have faith that she is unaware of your covert admiration for her.” Stefan swears, observing the shift in Gabriel’s expression from a raging bull to a scared kitten.
“W-Who said I think highly of her.” Gabriel averted his gaze to avoid being seen, but soon realized what was happening and quickly turned to face Stefan.
“Wait a minute? How did you know about it?” Gabriel furrowed, his anger peaking again.
When Stefan realized he was being discovered, he decided to run away before Gabriel could really beat the living daylights out of him.
“We have everyone waiting for us.” With that, he ran away, leaving Gabriel even more furious than he already was.
Gabriel grunted frustrating before looking in Eveline’s direction before making his way towards his team.

Eveline was among the group, scanning every face, but she could not see Tiffany anywhere.
Just when she was about to breath a sigh of relief Tiffany appeared before her out of nowhere.
The moment their eyes locked, Tiffany smirked mockingly before making her way towards them.
Eveline, as the chosen leader, slowly made her way out and stood in front of the students.
“As you are all aware, sport day is approaching, and we, as a team Skyrocket, have competed in a volleyball game against our senior team Riders. As the leader, all I can say is, Let us practice hard and win this competition.” Eveline’s determined words fueled their burning desire, and they all cheered up, agreeing with her.
Eveline was an inspiration to them because she not only led academically but also won all of the trophies every year during college sports days.
“Let us do it, everyone. We cannot lose face in front of our seniors,” Eveline said shortly after beginning the practice.
She was determined to win every sport in which she participated, but what bothered her was the team she would be competing against.
Unaware of how the competent team’s players were, she struggled to predict the game they would play. She did not, however, allow herself to be distracted and led the team with grace.
Following an hour of practice, the students returned to their classrooms, but Eveline went to the girls restroom to freshen up.
Eveline was in the process of washing her face when the door unexpectedly opened and Tiffany walked in.
“Oh, so we have our leader here,” she said sarcastically as she approached the faucet counter.
Eveline scoffed as she saw her friend’s true personality emerge.
Tiffany’s lips twitched at the sight of Eveline’s provocative smile.
“I thought after losing your face in front of the entire college, you would not dare to stand before me, but I was wrong.”
