Chapter 45: What do you intend to do

Eveline spoke through the mirror, ignoring the dark expression Tiffany had on her face. “I know you befriended me because of Gabriel, but you know what? I do not care; you can have him all you want. In any case, you two are worthy of each other. One cunning person and another traitor”

The moment Eveline saw them together on the balcony as she was about to die was a scene she was unable to erase.

Gabriel’s empty eyes continued to pierce her heart like a sharp knife, making her despise herself for falling deeply in love with him.

‘F**k playing naive. Let’s have a face on’

Eveline finally turned to face Tiffany, who seemed surprised by her revelation at first, but then her expression broke into fits of laughter.

“I am glad you finally figured it out; I got sick of always acting like an innocent person and playing an angel ready to take your shit.” Tiffany took a step closer to Eveline and said,

“Gabriel is not someone you deserve because he would never love you.”

Eveline scoffed at her bold remark. Her remarks did not seem to have any effect on her because this was not something she was unaware of.

“As I said, I don’t want him either. So cut this crap and live your life chasing after him; as I said, either way, you both deserve each other.” Eveline didn’t give a damn and turned to leave when Tiffany stopped her.

“Eve, I do not trust you. How did your feelings for Gabriel suddenly change? To the best of my memory, you were so madly in love with him that you would have done anything to get his attention. So why did you just give him to me?”

Tiffany was doubtful about how she managed to learn about her secret desire for Gabriel, and, lowkey, she was ruining her image before him.

‘Did Gabriel tell her everything she told him behind her back?’ She thought about how the other day he had confronted her.

Tiffany was not convinced that Eveline was as intelligent as she seemed because she confronted her without hesitation. This bold Eveline was scaring her somehow, intimidating her with her mere presence.

Eveline turned to look at Tiffany. She so wanted to tell her that she knew everything about her and how she ruined her life in her past life. Though there was not any difference between Tiffany then and now, Eveline still couldn’t tell her that she had time-traveled.

“Have him all you want and get the hell out of my life, Tiffany. Believe it or not, I no longer like him.” Eveline’s eyes darkened as she finished speaking, frightening Tiffany to no end, and then she slowly withdrew from the bathroom, leaving her stunned.

Tiffany stood there, taken aback by what she had just seen in Eveline’s eyes. They were devoid of all emotion and incredibly dark, like the night. But was everything she said about not liking Gabriel real, or was she just manipulating her like she did in the class?

“In any case, Eveline Miller, I will come to see what you are planning to do,” Tiffany announced, looking at the closed door before making her way out.

Eveline walked through the empty corridor when suddenly a strong hand pulled her inside the store room, closing the door behind her with a loud bang.

“What were you doing with Alex? And what’s with the closeness? Are you purposely trying to provoke me, Eve?” Eveline was startled out of her shock when Gabriel’s deep voice reached her chords.

As soon as she became aware of how firmly he was holding her hand, she attempted to release herself from his grip but miserably failed.

“Gabriel, let go? What is wrong with you?” Eveline screamed, but as soon as she glanced at him, she recoiled from the sight of his enraged eyes.

Gabriel had never been more enraged by anyone because he hardly paid attention to anyone, but things were becoming strange with Eveline, which caused him to start doubting himself.

He did not give a damn about Eveline’s number of admirers back then because he knew she had her sights set on him and would not waver in her feelings. However, it broke his heart to witness her closeness to Alex today and how everyone seemed to think she had someone to like.

He was so overcome with jealousy at the time that he thought about what he had done and how likely it was that she would move on from him, even though he knew that was not the case.

“What do you intend to do, Eve? What’s going on in your brain?” Disregarding her words, Gabriel drew her nearer to himself until their nose tips touched.

Their labored breathing was the only sound echoing through the loud storeroom for a brief moment.

Eveline’s face was fanned by Gabriel’s minty breath, and she felt her heart explode from her chest. She tried not to become weak, but her body was not listening to her thoughts, and she noticed a slight wobble in her knee.

Her mind was immediately drawn to their first sex experience, during which they spent the entire night getting wasted and making love to one another.

Eveline thought she had the best night of her life, but when reality set in, she realized her dream had come to an end and the person she wanted to trust most in the world accused her of being unfaithful.

“W-what do you mean?” Despite her growing distraction, she managed to say, “I do not intend anything.”

Gabriel sneered at her lie and pulled her even closer, this time their chest brushing off, sending chills down their spine.

“Do not lie to me, Eve. You know what I mean. So tell me what are you trying to do because seriously speaking I am not liking it” Gabriel forewarned, but his attention was gradually wandering due to her alluring scent.

“What if I refuse to tell you?” Eveline said with a challenging tone.

She couldn’t just let Gabriel ruin her plan if she happens to tell him what she intends on doing.

“Then I won’t let you go” Gabriel responded with conviction.

“And you think I will let you do that. Let go Gabriel,I have a class to attend” Eveline said as she tried to break free from his grip.

“Not until you tell me everything” Gabriel remained adamant.

He clearly understood Eveline’s motive, however he would never let her do that.

Eveline fumed and continued to wriggle under his hold, trying her best to get away and just when she thought Gabriel let go of her her, his hand reached her nape and she was pulled for a forceful kiss.
