Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 49
Chapter 49: She is mine
“Alex!” The boy was stopped in his tracks and forced to turn around when Tiffany yelled at him from behind.
Alex’s face was distorted into a deep frown of confusion as he saw Tiffany running towards him while warily surveying her surroundings.
Before he knew it, she had grabbed hold of his wrist, dragged him into a lonely alley, and then roughly wrenched his hand away.
“What’s all this happening between you and Eveline?” she asked, her eyes glaring at him with doubt.
Alex furrowed his brow at Tiffany’s question, even though he had not anticipated her dragging him in that manner.
She doubted anything Eveline would do now, because of her crafty change.
“What’s happening? I thought I had already stated that Eveline had agreed to be friends with me, so why do you ask me?” Alex replied, shooting sharp glares at her.
Tiffany raked her fingers through her hair, unable to believe Alex was letting his guard down and acting like a fool in love.
“Are you sure? I do not think she is being sincere with you,” Tiffany said, attempting to focus his wandering mind. After whatever she witnessed, Tiffany couldn’t let any one of them waver.
“Tiffany, what are you trying to say? “Do you have doubts about Eveline because you can not win Gabriel over?” Alex laughed, finding her statements to be too naive to take seriously.
Tiffany had always been envious of Eveline due to her close relationship with Gabriel, but he never imagined that she would eventually grow jealous of him as well, as he had been her supporter for so long.
Tiffany frowns, finding his remarks insulting.
“You think I am envying you because I couldn’t get Gabriel? Scoff, you are just so pathetic.” Tiffany yelled, not to be taken lightly.
“So, if you are not insecure about us, then why are you saying this crap and accusing Eveline of fabricating the friendship?” Alex yelled. Although he felt bad for initially assisting Tiffany, he was powerless since the girl was aware of his covert obsession with Eveline.
But now that they had made their own way, rather than placing the blame elsewhere, it was time for them to address it.
Alex bellowed, giving Tiffany no room to doubt, “Listen, I do not give a shit about your words because I am not batting to them,” he said.
“I take it you do not trust me? But whatever I am saying is true; you are being manipulated,” Tiffany glued firmly to her words.
“Eveline would never do that to me, and why would she when she believes me?” Alex said, “There is no reason for me to believe you.”
During the stalking, Alex discovered that Eveline was a sincere person who would never pretend to be friends with someone.
“All right, but I will show you that she is not the same innocent Eveline anymore,” Tiffany said, her words brimming with confidence.
Laughing at her arrogance, Alex questioned, “Are you picking on her because she made you apologize in front of the class?”
His words snatched the confidence from Tiffany’s face and she clenched her jaw firmly, looking away the next second.
“Whatever you may think, I am not wrong. She will never let you in, Alex, so you are mistaking her kindness for friendship. For her, it will always be Gabriel.”
Alex’s eyes went dark as soon as she finished speaking, and his smile disappeared as well. Before his mind could think, his hand went to grab her neck and pin her to the concrete wall, slamming the back of her head in the process.
“She is mine. Do you hear it? Eveline is mine.” Alex screamed, frightening Tiffany to no end.
This was the first time she had witnessed the horrifying side of Alex. He conveyed this eerie feeling, but he never did so in such an obvious way.
Terrified Tiffany nodded her head while she gasped for air.
“A-Alex, leave me, please.” Tears were streaming down her face as she struggled to say, “You are choking me.”
Alex’s mouth twisted into a menacing grin as his hold on her neck gradually relaxed.

“Good, now get lost before I make you regret following me here,” Alex warned, and Tiffany got up quickly, stumbling as she cautiously moved out of the alleyway.
Glancing back at the retreating figure, Alex adjusted the hoodie on his head and turned to leave.
Tiffany continued to walk erratically, wobbling as she felt the aftermath of Alex’s rage. Every time she thought back to that uneventful moment, she could feel the goosebumps crawling all over her body, reminding her of his maniacal side that she never wanted to see.
Somehow she got into the bus and reached home. She felt his hand around her neck, suffocating her for a moment as her hand continued to touch it.
Tiffany stood in front of the door and tried to wipe the terrified expression off her face by taking a few deep breaths before she made her way inside the house.
Susan emerged from Tiffany’s room and approached her, saying, “Tiffany, you are home?”
“Mom, why are you home? Shouldn’t you be at the Miller’s?” Tiffany was shocked to see her mother home rather than running errands around Eveline.
The thought of Eveline instantly made her mood sour while she continued to look at Susan blankly.
“Yes, I will be on vacation for a few days. So yes you would be finding me home spending more time with you” Susan ignored the distant look on Tiffany’s face and smiled.
She was told that Jonathan would be gone on a business trip for a few days, and he requested that Eveline stay at Winston’s.
So she was granted a small break until his return.
Tiffany furrowed, finding her mother’s words unsettling and she inquired, ” I hope you are not lying about getting fired by your master, Jonathan. It’s hard to believe he granted you a break. What about his precious daughter, who will look after her needs?”
Tiffany’s words were cold as she walked past her mother making her way inside her room.
“Young Miss would be staying at Winston’s.” Susan’s words instantly halted Tiffany and her eyes darkened at the thought of Eveline spending time with Gabriel.
