Chapter 55: She already has plans
Eveline was taken aback since she had not seen Tiffany anywhere in the classroom. She missed the lectures the entire day in addition to skipping the practice, which made her wonder where she had disappeared.
“Maybe the practice took a toll on her body, and she finally realized it was not her cup of tea,” Eveline muttered mockingly, as she slowly made her way out of the classroom.
On her way through the corridor, suddenly a thought struck her mind and she stopped.
“Didn’t Susan mention her daughter studying at the same college?” She muttered to herself.
Though it was unexpected that she had not encountered her in these three years, her curiosity grew when she learned she was studying with them in Aspen.
“But wait, how am I supposed to find her? I did not even ask Susan her name,” she thought, but she was unable to elaborate on the girl’s specifics.
Despite being her nanny for many years, Susan never intended for anyone to know anything about her beyond her name. Eveline only came across her terrible life with her husband because she heard the servants talk about it.
“It is strange that they still share a house with her awful spouse,” Eveline said, recalling the words the servant used for her drunk husband, and suddenly she felt the need to hear from Susan
Eveline took the phone out of her pocket and tried to call Susan, but she did not get through, which made her fears grow stronger.
“Why isn’t she answering my calls?” Eveline frowned and a look of worry crossed her face as she wondered if Susan was alright.
“Have you heard that a drunkard harassed Kathrin and attempted to take money from her at the college gates?” Eveline’s ear perked at the voice and she turned to look at the girls who were standing by the wall talking about the incident that occurred outside the college.
A profound furrow adorned her countenance, as she may have been preoccupied with her practice sessions and thus missed hearing something of that sort but the moment she heard the next thing that talked, her eyes darkened.
“I heard the man saying that he was only there to see his daughter and that he mistook Kathrin for Tiffany,” said the other girl.
Before Eveline could process it, her legs began to move independently, and she suddenly stood in front of the girls, startling them with her presence.
“What else did you hear?” She asked, taking the girls by surprise.

With a click, the door opened, and Susan helped the severely battered Jacob inside. While helping him sit on the couch, she then rushed to bring him some water.
Tiffany watched her father, who seemed least bothered after what he had done, snap.
“Why in the world would you go to my college, of all places? Do you realize what you have done by going there? I was humiliated in front of my college friend by you, drunkard.”
“Tiffany, not now.” Susan handed Jacob a glass of water, warning him, “Look at him, he is not in the state to understand anything.” she said
Tiffany became even more enraged when Jacob accepted the glass without paying attention to anything she had to say.
After failing to reach home the other night, Jacob’s sudden need for booze landed him in front of the Aspen College gates.
He wanted to get money from Tiffany so he waited for her outside, but little did he know his drowsiness would end up landing him in huge trouble.
“I needed money,” he said, wiping off his wet lips before darting his sloppy eyes at Tiffany.
With all the drama her husband had created outside of Aspen College, Susan could only sigh helplessly as she watched him act carelessly towards everything they had to go through.
Had Tiffany not pleaded with Kathrin to spare her father, he would have been imprisoned and charged with harassment.
“Mum, get this man out of the house before I kill him with my bare hands.” Tiffany was so enraged that she could not contain her anger and expressed her wish to kill her father in order to end their ongoing suffering and humiliation.
Tiffany was unsure of the number of students who saw this scene and how many of them knew he was her father, but she was certain of one thing: her father’s influence had damaged her reputation.
When Susan didn’t respond, Tiffany turned and stormed from there walking into her room and slamming the door shut.

The first thing she did was go and check the college forum but to her surprise, she didn’t see any posts related to her. She checked the forum page once again to make sure her doubts were unfounded, but she saw no new posts about her.
Her nervous heart began to calm, and she whispered, “Does that mean no one has witnessed this incident?”
…
Meanwhile, inside the computer room, Eveline hacked into the college forum, restricting all users from posting any news related to today’s incident.
She took hold of the evidence the girls had and warned them not to post it after confronting them about the man they claimed was Tiffany’s father.
The girls did not initially get why Eveline would forewarn them when they thought there was an opportunity to criticize Tiffany for anything that she had done to her, but they were powerless to ignore her warnings.
Moreover, Eveline was also relieved that the incident only attracted the attention of onlookers outside, as opposed to the students, who could have been one of the reasons it went unreported.
Eveline turned off the computer and left the computer lab after making sure everything was under control, only to run into Alex.
“I have been searching for you,” he said, giving her a sly yet amiable smile.
Even though Eveline had escaped Alex earlier, it seemed as though he did not want to give her a moment’s breathing space.
It was really difficult to pretend in front of him, but Eveline had been struggling to stick to her plan since the morning because Alex had become overly clingy.
“W-why, were you hoping to discuss studies?” Eveline asked ignoring to answer his question.
“It would be nice to go to lunch together since we are friends,” Alex remarked, observing the slight shift in Eveline’s expression.
“But she already has plan’s,” a voice from behind said, grabbing Eveline and Alex’s attention.
“Right, Eveline, didn’t you promise to get out on lunch with me?” Gabriel walked past Alex and stood next to Eveline with his hand sliding into her, intertwining them.
