Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 60
Chapter 60: Ella’s boyfriend
Max’s face darkened as he noticed a man emerging from inside and standing beside Ella.
“You are so funny, baby,” Stefan said, biting his lip to keep from laughing too much.
Wrapping his hand around her, he then turned to look at the man standing by the door.
“Oh, so your ex is here with us?” With a hint of playfulness remaining in his eyes, he said, “Hello, Mr., this is Stefan, Ella’s boyfriend.”
Ella:”…”
Max:”…”
Ella gave Stefan a bewildered look, taking in the words he just uttered.
‘Boyfriend? What the freak!’ What is this kid trying to do?
Max scowled when he heard Stefan introduce himself as Ella’s partner.
“Scoff, you are way more desperate than me, Ella. You already have a boyfriend, albeit a young one. Didn’t you find a man for yourself, huh?”
Stefan’s smile faltered, his eyes turning cold. His hand was just a way to reach and punch Max, but Ella butted before he could react.
“This kid is much more considerate than that certain someone who only wants women in his pants, which does make him a man but a manwhore.”
Max’s face contorted at Ella’s arrogant remark.
“You bitch, how could you use that word for me, huh? Did you forget about our relationship already?” Max lunged towards Ella furiously; however, Stefan blocked his path.
“Mr. Giraffe face, tsk, tsk, step back, or else you will lose the little charm you have on it,” Stefan said in a calm yet slightly foreboding tone.
Furthermore, his hand that rested on his shoulder felt so heavy that even Max was shocked by his strength.
Stefan was not particularly bulky, but he worked out and had an athletic body that made him stronger than those with masculine traits.
Max gulped at the sight of his brooding gaze and stepped back.
“Ella, why aren’t you saying anything to this man? He is making threats against me.” Max stuttered, his masculinity turning into a freaking scared kitten as he turned his pitiful gaze toward Ella.
He expected to silence Stefan by showing him his place, but instead, he was the one who was overpowered by the kid himself.
Ella’s eyes softened as she stared at Max, but then she remembered how that day he had humiliated her and broken her heart. He chose to go out and cheat on her because he did not find her exciting and he wanted to state his desire that she had not met.
“My man, do not take any violence against me, so you better watch your mouth before saying anything,” she said, putting her arm around Stefan and smiling.
Max stood stunned as Ella refused to say anything to Stefan. He had no idea that Ella, who had once been loving and kind to him, would treat him badly even after realizing who was initially at fault.
“This is wrong, Ella. How can you blame me?” Max wasn’t able to stand Ella’s taking the side of the man she just met.
They have been dating for five years, and it amazes me how quickly she disregarded him and supported this child, who was nothing more than a haughty brat.
“Just the way you blamed me for not being good enough. We are on equal footing, Max. Please gather your belongings and leave my presence before Stefan loses his temper and kicks you out.” Ella gave Max an ultimatum and moved to allow him entry, but Max would not budge.
His entire being was fuming as he watched the two being supportive of each other and cornering him all the way.
“Should I demonstrate by plucking your eyes, Mister?” Stefan said, seizing Max’s attention and smiling.
Max entered the house without pausing, swiftly gathered his belongings, and turned to leave when he noticed the frame sitting on the shelf.

His expression twisted as he observed how severely his picture had been ruined, and he glared at Stefan while he laughed mockingly.
“Did you like my art? You know I wanted to make it more like a donkey but a giraffe is better,” he said, embarrassing Max further.
Ella could not help but grin, finding it hilarious when she saw how severely Stefan had damaged Max’s face in the picture, making him appear cartoonish.
Max noticed the smile on Ella’s face and warned ” Laugh as much as you want Ella, but mark my words. No matter whom you date, you will still be the least attractive girl one would keep by his side”
Ella’s smile vanished in an instant when Max’s harsh words grabbed it. Her eyes became wet as those words struck the correct chord in her heart, leading her to believe in them.
“You..” Stefan, who took offense at his words, started to walk toward Max to punch his face, but Ella intervened, making him smirk at them in return.
Feeling proud of his accomplishment, Max turned and left the house without giving them another look.
Ella closed her eyes, sighed, and let a tear fall down her cheek before releasing Stefan’s hand and heading back inside.
She sat down on the couch, her elbows resting on her legs as she buried her face in her hand.
Stefan knew it was a bad idea from the beginning, but when he heard Ella yell Max’s name, something inside of him stirred, and he ended up acting incoherently.
He walked over to Ella and apologized, “I am sorry. Had I not behaved in that manner, his words would not have wounded you.”
Stefan regretted his actions and was ready to take whatever Ella said next; however, to his surprise, she ended up smiling at him.
“It’s not your fault. Whatever Max said isn’t entirely wrong. So, please don’t blame yourself. You were merely helping me out,” she said.
Stefan felt his heart tighten upon hearing Ella’s words. She was trying to conceal her pain behind that smile, but he knew she was badly hurt by Max’s words.
“Anyways, let us just not ruin our mood and have a nice dinner,” she exclaimed, chirping excitedly as she pushed aside her bitter mood.
Stefan didn’t prolong the conversation, understanding her need to let it go, and nodded in agreement, “And… I am going to help you.”
