Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 63
Chapter 63: I need your help
The students’ thunderous applause at Gabriel’s team’s victory filled the entire stadium. The team had a talented player base, so it was not difficult for them to defeat their rival quickly in this competitive match.
Now that the volleyball match was about to begin, Eveline, who had been watching the boys celebrate their win, slowly made her way out and reached the area where her teammates began to gather.
Eveline discussed a few things with them before they all cheered for their win. All this while Eveline failed to see that Gabriel and Stefan had already made their way into the audience, eager to notice the match between the junior and senior year students.
“Do you think Alex could see the ball coming his way without the glasses?” Stefan muttered, gesturing to the boy who was standing next to Eveline.
Gabriel experienced a sudden wave of jealousy because, well, Alex seemed more attractive without his glasses.
“Shut up and concentrate on the game.” Gabriel dismissed Stefan’s remark and chose to watch the game instead.
He could only look at the girl; she seemed more determined to him.
Remembering what conspired on last year’s sports day, Gabriel took great pleasure in examining Eveline’s outfit, taking into consideration that she didn’t face any malfunctions this time.
The announcement was soon made, and each player claimed their place. The team facing Eveline’s team was undoubtedly more experienced, but they could not discount the practice her team put in over the week.
Eveline was the one to strike the ball as they won the toss. Standing in the first row, she positioned herself and threw the ball in the air, swiftly hitting it with a hard stroke.
Although Gabriel had previously seen Eveline rehearsing, he had never seen her perform live. There was something about her that never made him lose his focus on her.
She showed that she took the game seriously thanks to her immaculate athletic build and fierce competitive attitude, which allowed no room for error.
Against the opposition team, Eveline’s squad scored, leaving no chance for defeat. They made it clear that they were here to win the game and should not be taken lightly.
Gabriel was so focused on the game that his eyes were beaming with delight. He was so into the woman ahead of him that Stefan’s cheering voice turned silent in his ears.
“Excuse me, please. Make some way, excuse me.” Being late for the game, Daniel hurried over to where Gabriel and Stefan had taken a seat, swiftly grabbing the vacant chair and settling down on it.
“Woah!” Stefan screamed as Alex missed the ball and the opposite team scored a point.
“Holy freak. I had no idea this would be a difficult match. Are they planning to compete in the Olympics? Why isn’t anyone losing yet?” Daniel expressed his surprise at how hard the match was going despite both teams having equal lead scores.
Though he was twenty minutes late and unsure if the game was over, his eyes suddenly shot out of his socket upon seeing the score.
This game seemed more important than a kid’s recreational activity—it was like a state championship.
“Dude, it’s Eveline Miller. You believe that she will instantly lose her score.” Stefan voiced his opinion, to which Daniel agreed with a light nod.
“Guys, focus,” Gabriel’s stern voice called out from the side, quickly hustling the boys.
Forty minutes down with the game going strong. Both teams scored twenty-three points apiece, but only one team could win the game by a margin of two.
It was hard for them to predict who would win the match because of how intense it was.
On the field, Eveline and the team were doing everything they could to make sure the ball did not go over. Their only goal was to beat the other team and win the match.
However, despite the fact that everyone was working toward the same goal, one person’s mind was occupied with other ideas.
Tiffany was using a lot of calculations in her work and was hardly hitting the ball. Being on the front along with Eveline, all she did was let her take the lead.
Eveline hit the ball and it went through the net, with another person from the opposite team quickly taking the hit.
Tiffany realized it was time to take action, so she sprinted in the same direction as Eveline to hit the ball, only to crash into each other in the process.
“Ouch,” both girls went down, and the ball bounced next to them, giving the other team the advantage to win the game.

Everyone cheered, however, Gabriel and the rest rushed towards the ground.
“Eveline” Alex quickly rushed to pick Eveline, who managed to stand on her feet with his help.
But for Tiffany, the girl continued to lie while thoughtfully glancing at Eveline.
At first, she couldn’t understand the look she gave, but then her eyes fell on the shorts and she gaped in shock.
Eveline was pulled free from Alex’s grasp by Gabriel, who reached out to grab her arm.
“Eve, are you okay?” He asked, his eyes resting on the man who would dared to touch Eveline, then turning back to the girl.
“Are you okay?” he asked, his expression going from stern to soft.
Tiffany sneered as she watched the scene play out, but what she heard next brought immense satisfaction to her face.
“Can you lend me your jacket, Gabriel?” Eveline said, ignoring his words.
With a puzzled expression on his face, Gabriel took off his jacket and passed her without saying anything.
Ignoring their confused stare, she then ran towards Tiffany and wrapped the jacket around her waist.
“Here, cover up,” she muttered, helping Tiffany out with the trouble.
It was then that everybody realized Tiffany had suffered a malfunction following her collision with Eveline during the game.
Tiffany rose slowly, eyes welling with tears, and turned to face Gabriel before an emergency personnel arrived to assist Tiffany.
Alex frowned, having witnessed the accident involving Tiffany as well. He felt that there was something strange about the girl, but he chose not to think about it too much and moved in Eveline’s direction.
He grabbed Eveline’s attention away from Tiffany’s dwindling form and said, “You did well.”Eveline sighed as she turned to face her teammate, who had lost the match due to a single incorrect move from her end. She would have stopped and allowed Tiffany to hit the ball if she had noticed her moving in that direction. Nevertheless, they have now lost the match, and there was nothing they could have done differently.
“I am sorry that we didn’t win the game, but every one of you did a good job,” Eveline said, praising her teammate before excusing herself from the crowd.
Eveline was about to go to the bathroom when a clerk interrupted her.
“Miss Miller, you are asked to come to the dean’s office.” the man said, causing Eveline to furrow at his remark.
Though curious to know the reason, Eveline simply nodded and followed the man toward the Dean’s office.

Eveline pushed open the door and stepped into the uneasy silence of the office, where she saw Tiffany standing by Mrs. Martha’s side.
“Dean Benjamin, you requested my attendance,” Eveline inquired, her eyes darting from the two women to the college president.
“Yes, Miss Miller, kindly come forward. There is something important that we need to discuss,” Benjamin said, piquing Eveline’s already growing interest.
Martha looked at Eveline as she made her way inside and stood next to them.
Eveline saw a flash of disgust in her eyes and was immediately alerted when she saw Tiffany, who had been crying nonstop, standing by her side.
Eveline, unable to comprehend her reaction, heard Benjamin say, “Miss Tiffany made a claim against you that you made her clothes, which caused her to have a major malfunction.”
Eveline gagged, completely taken aback by what the dean had said to her.
“W-what are you saying, sir? Why would I do that? I am sure there is some mistake here. I recently learned that Tiffany had a malfunction following the conclusion of the game.” Eveline attempted to defend her honesty.
“However, the footage we watched seems to indicate otherwise.” Mrs. Martha said, leaving Eveline even more perplexed about the whole incident.
‘There was a serious misunderstanding here, so why did Mrs. Martha accuse her of something that she had not done until…?’ Eveline stopped thinking abruptly as her gaze locked on Tiffany.
‘Unless she concocted another hoax,’ Eveline said, her eyes turning instantly cold.
Gabriel, who had been unable to locate Eveline, halted in mid-stream when his chords abruptly picked up the students’ whispered conversations.
It took a second for his expression to go from calm to deadly and instead on going ahead, he turned and started walking back from where he came.
Stefan who was busy discussing about the match with Daniels furrowed when he noticed Gabriel making his way towards them.
With his ravening eyes, he appeared no less than a death angel, prepared to annihilate any human being and that sight itself made Stefan gulp.
“You are back, Gabby, my boy.” Stefan’s dry voice did not mask the uneasiness he was feeling as he watched Gabriel stand in front of them.
“I need your help,” He stated, without giving room for protest.
