Chapter 75: Do you know what that means?
After Tiffany left for college, Susan decided to clean her room. Since she was no longer at home, Susan saw an opportunity to finally organize things as it had been days since she had allowed her to clean them.
Susan began collecting the clothes that were strewn all over her bed and the floor as she carried the necessities with her. She took them up, folded them, and put them in the closet.
Subsequently, she decided to clear the floor and broom up any remaining dust before calling it a day.
Susan was aware that Tiffany detested having her belongings touched and would frequently chastise her for violating her personal space. She did not care, though, because she knew
Tiffany would be satisfied with her assistance in the end.
Susan carefully swept the floor with her broom before reaching over to clean underneath the bed. “Ah, what is that?” Susan scowled as the broomstick became lodged in something, defying multiple attempts to free itself.
She bent over to try to remove it, but to her surprise, all that was there was an upside-down photo lying on the floor.
“Let us check whose picture this is.” Susan grinned as she turned the picture over, but her eyes widened in surprise when she realized who it was.
“Young Master Gabriel’s photo? Why does Tiffany own his photo?” She muttered, struggling to accept Tiffany’s motive to keep Gabriel’s picture with her.
When Susan saw that the picture was taken at random and not from a specific angle, she frowned, which raised even more questions about her suspicions.
Although Susan knew that Tiffany attended the same college as Eveline and Gabriel, it seemed a little odd that he was pictured with her considering that they did not even enroll in classes together.
‘Don’t tell me Tiffany likes Gabriel’ Susan gasp at the sudden realization.
“No, that is not feasible. Young Miss has already been promised to Young Master Gabriel.
Even though they have not made the announcement yet, I still can not let Tiffany harbor stronger feelings for him.” Susan said, forcing herself to stand as she continued to look at the picture in her hand. “That is not agreeable.”

[At Winston’s Mansion]
Eveline was astounded that Gabriel had any doubts about Tiffany. Though they still had no concrete proof to back up their suspicions, he expressed his belief that she was the one.
When Tiffany claimed Eveline was the one ruining her clothes, her actions were peculiar. She continued to insist that she had seen Eveline, but when Dean Benjamin gave her the opportunity to elaborate, a fleeting moment of panic over being caught gave Eveline the courage to pull another act, this time dragging herself out in front of the staff.
Eveline let out a deep breath, flopped down on the bed, and shut her eyes. Feeling more tired than ever, she exclaimed, “Oh my goodness, this is all so annoying.”
She had expected things to be simpler and less dramatic—at least in this life—with Tiffany and Gabriel, but they turned out to be more complicated than she had imagined.
With things gradually coming to light, Eveline found life to be more captivating than it had been in her previous life.
Although she had anticipated that Gabriel would remain uninterested and think of her as a lair, it turned out that he had begun to trust her and had even discreetly assisted her without asking for credit.
Especially after learning of Gabriel’s feelings for her, she found it difficult to accept this new information.
Despite Eveline’s best efforts to avoid them and not let them affect her, her stupidity caused her mental state to worsen.
“Tomorrow, I will be able to sleep soundly in my room, away from all of his thoughts. This is my last night here,” Eveline told herself.
She chose to leave sooner rather than give Gabriel the impression that she would put up with his foolishness because she felt that the things they were doing together were suddenly suffocating.
Eveline took several deep breaths, tried to push away all the thoughts, and focused on her breathing, which she discovered was a very helpful way to quickly go to sleep until…
“Ah, another nightmare,” Eveline said as she opened her eyes, her forehead dripping in beads of sweat. This was nothing out of the ordinary, but what caught her off guard was that the nightmare was not the same as before.
Every time she imagined herself falling off the balcony, Tiffany and Gabriel would be grinning at her. She occasionally even had visions of her fetus, who passed away before he had the chance to experience life.

However, her was unrelated to the nightmare today. In the end, she saw someone else, whose eyes, save for a sorrowful expression, she was unable to identify.
Wiping the beads from her eyes, she muttered, “What is that with those painful eyes?” and climbed down the bed.
Eveline attempted to remember who that look belonged to, but to her dismay, she was no longer able to recall that dream.
Eveline showered quickly, changed into fresh clothes, picked up her books, and went into the study. She anticipated that, unlike yesterday, Gabriel would not corner her, or else she would threaten to have him cease teaching her.
The attractive sight of Gabriel curled up on the couch with a book welcomed Eveline as soon as she entered the study.
As soon as he laid eyes on her, he lit up with joy. “You came,” he said, and made room for her at his side.
The fact that Eveline had to exercise caution around him momentarily escaped her notice as he surprised her by smiling.
Eveline moved slowly over to the couch and sat down next to Gabriel, awkwardly clearing her throat.
“Should we get started?” Gabriel turned to face Eveline, who nodded encouragingly in his direction.
Eveline swallowed hard as the scent of Gabriel’s cleanly bathed body and his even more alluring side profile diverted her attention.
With a doubtful glance in his direction, she asked herself, “Should I thank him for the help?”
“Do you have anything you would like to say?” Eveline was startled out of her reverie by Gabriel’s question.
Gabriel frowned at her as she cleared her throat again and said, “Hm, yes, there is something I wanted to say.”
“Is your throat hurting?” After giving her a thorough examination, he questioned, “Why do you keep clearing it every time you talk?”
Eveline had obviously just gotten out of the shower because her hair was drenched and she smelled strongly of lavender body wash, which made Gabriel find it hard to ignore her.
Gabriel had to gulp when he saw her sitting on the couch with her legs crossed because her milky white skin was showing through her crop top and shorts.
Eveline noticed that Gabriel was suddenly quiet, but her nose flared in rage as she followed his line of sight, staring at her legs.
“You blatant pervert! How dare you look at my legs with such contempt?” Eveline slammed a pillow into Gabriel’s face and hurriedly got off the couch, ready to launch another pillow attack.
Before Eveline could hit him, Gabriel grabbed her wrist and pulled her down, causing her to fall into his lap. “You shameless man….”
Gabriel acknowledged that he was fixating on her legs, but it was not appropriate to label him as a shameless pervert.
“Gabriel, let go of me.” Eveline struggled on his lap; however, he didn’t spare her.
Rather, he tightened his hold around her waist, securely attaching her to his legs until she ceased squirming on him.
“If you do not stop moving, Eveline, I swear I will do something you will not like.” Gabriel startled Eveline on his lap and said, “Then do not blame me.”
His words were as serene as the sea, but as he kept staring at her, almost imploringly, there was a hint of caution in his eyes and face.
Eveline opened her mouth to speak, but nothing came out. Abruptly, though, a deep frown marred her face and her expression changed.
“What is that poking at my buttocks, Gabriel?” Eveline murmured incoherently, but when she felt it twitch once more, the realization struck her hard.
Gabriel sighed, resting his face on her shoulder as he took a deep breath and begged her to stay put.
Eveline continued to listen to his charming plea with nervous blinks.
“So, what should I do?” she inquired.
The mere touch of her sparked an intense desire that Gabriel found difficult to resist biting his lower lip.
In an attempt to keep himself sane, Gabriel had tried on numerous occasions to resist the urge to touch every part of her body, pin her to the wall, and kiss her until she was unable to breathe.
However, he was aware that by acting in this way, he would only drive her away.
With everything going on in his life, Gabriel found it difficult to wait for the right moment even though he wanted to take baby steps.
“Eveline, look at me,” he said, raising his head off of her shoulder.
Eveline gave him a nervous blink of her eyes and turned to face him.
“Do you know what that means?” he asked in a rich, seductive voice that drew Eveline in.
