Chapter 84: Tiffany is your daughter ?
Ella was at a loss as to what to say.
Stefan spoke with genuine sincerity, and his words profoundly resonated with her on all levels.
Max had never been able to truly thank her when they were dating, but now that Stefan was involved, it all seemed new.
She felt a sharp heat and her veins exploded with blood. Still staring at him with the same intensity, her face flushed.
“Is this child attempting to manipulate my emotions?” she asked herself.
Stefan noticed the flush on her cheek and smiled. He had no idea that a simple compliment could make her shy, but as he had already mentioned, she was special.
“What do you want to eat now that we have convinced our first investor?” Stefan said as he changed the topic.
He would have liked to see her back down, but he did not want to go too far.
Ella declined his offer with a swift shake of her head, stating, “We have a lot on our plate today, and going out to lunch would only make us run late.”
“And you think that missing meals would help you focus on yours?” he actually asked.
With an empty stomach, neither Stefan nor Ella could concentrate on their work. Hence, she agreed to accompany him and abruptly ended the conversation rather than continuing to argue.

Ella raised an inquiring eyebrow as Stefan became absorbed in his phone within the eatery.
He managed to get her to go to lunch with him, but all he did was fiddle with his phone.
“Ahem, do you not think it is impolite to let a girl eat by herself?”
Stefan glanced away from his phone at her words and gave her a feeble smile.
“You do realize that your cellphone is getting more attention than your food,” Ella joked, making Stefan awkwardly scratch the back of his head.
Not to belittle himself, he apologized, “I have something going on really serious that needs my attention.”
The first thing Ella thought of was Bianca, or any of his flings who might be in need of his attention.
“Okay..” she said, her mood turning dim.
“Is it related to Bianca?” Stefan overheard her ask, noting the slur in her voice.
Ella knew better than to pry into his private affairs, but she was unable to control herself.
Stefan paused and noticed the sad look on her face.
She had those doe-like, inquisitive eyes, and he could not quite put his finger on why he felt the need to go pinch her cheeks. Nevertheless, he played with her for a bit.
“Um,” he answered.
Ella was taken aback by his expression, but she covered it up as soon as she saw how serious he was.
“Then you ought to attend to her instead,” she stated, turning away from him.
She did not know why she thought he would reject her claim, but when he didn’t, she felt as though her heart had broken.
Ella wanted Stefan to be exclusively available to her, even though she knew it was not her place to feel these newfound feelings toward him.

“Pff, so that is what you say, right?”
Ella turned to face him at once, but all she saw was him holding back his laugh.
That is when she realized this was all a prank and Stefan was pulling her leg. And now she found herself looking foolish.
“You…” Stefan gaped at him as she groaningly searched desperately for something to throw at him.
“Ella don’t!!” Taking note of her behavior, he warned, “You can not waste the food by throwing it on me,” and intervened before she could ruin his suit out of spite.
Stefan received a brief glare from Ella, who was obviously upset about his actions, but she quickly averted her gaze and began consuming the meal.
She remains silent the entire lunch, and when they depart, she continues to walk forward, ignoring the man who follows her like a lost puppy.

Later, Eveline drove to Miller Mansion following her time in college.
Gabriel was disheartened that she didn’t change her mind to stay, irrespective of Jonathan arriving a day later than planned.
As Eveline lay in bed, she tried to forget everything that had happened in college.
The whole thing, from Gabriel’s kiss to learning of Tiffany and Alex’s plot, took a toll on her body and mind, making it difficult for her to process.
She continued to stare at the wall above, and her hand instinctively went to her lips.
She found it unbelievable that Gabriel could become so envious that he ultimately lost control.
Eveline had always assumed Gabriel was a calculated individual who considered all options before acting, so she was alarmed by his aggressive behavior.
She had not anticipated such possessiveness from him and it was all unfamiliar to her.
“Hell Eve, why are you thinking about him all the time?” She let out a scream as she turned onto her stomach and buried her face in the pillow.
Despite her best efforts, Gabriel’s thoughts remained ingrained in her memory like a permanent tattoo that she could never completely remove.
Knock
Knock
The sound on the door startled Eveline and she pushed herself up to sit before climbing down the bed and heading to open the door.
Susan was the one who was waiting outside with a tray containing some evening snacks and freshly made orange juice.
“Young Miss, welcome home,” the woman said with a smile before entering the room.
“I hope you enjoy your snacks,” Susan said, setting the tray down on the table.
With an expression that defies description, Eveline watched Susan, and then, before she realized what was going on, she ran over and gave her a hug.
“Aunt Susan, welcome home.” Eveline was ecstatic to see Susan was doing well.
She became so restless out of fear that something would happen to her that she began to overthink. But Gabriel helped her to get her thoughts straight.
Susan smiled and pulled back, “I hope there is no reason for me to be concerned, and you truly miss me for a good reason,” she said, bringing a smile to Eveline’s face.
“Of course,” she said in response, before releasing Susan.
“Since master will not be arriving until tomorrow, what menu items would you like me to include in your dinner, aside from your favorites?” Susan inquired.
Now that Susan was back to her job, she wanted to make sure she fed her young miss properly, as the young girl had left her worried for a good reason due to her behavior.
Eveline grew up before Susan. She was like a mother figure, knowing when and how her daughter would react, become upset, or be concerned. And now that she found her hugging her, she could sense her concern.
Eveline was troubled by something, which she discreetly concealed behind her fake smile. However, she did not want to force her to speak and instead chose to wait for her to do so.
“Nothing, the decided menu is sufficient,” Eveline said, and Susan nodded before turning to depart.
“Hm, Aunt Susan, that day we ended up leaving our conversation midway.” Susan paused, a sense of doom eclipsing the calmness she had chosen to maintain before Eveline.
She assumed whether it was a lie she caught or about…. Tiffany.
“Yes,” she replied, darting her gaze back to Eveline, despite her inner anxiety.
Susan’s heart rate increased as she continued to observe Eveline.
“What is your daughter’s name? She inquired, her gaze flickering with caution.
Susan’s thoughts immediately turned to Tiffany’s words and the way she spewed venom about Eveline.
“Tiffany Amrose,” she blurted out, terrified.
Eveline was so taken aback that she almost felt her soul shake deep inside.
“Tiffany, is your daughter?” She inquired.
“Yes,” Susan replied.
Susan noticed the look of complete disbelief that lingered in Eveline’s eyes and she went straight to ask.
“Young Miss, is there a problem? You appear shocked,”
Susan suspected that Eveline’s surprise might have had something to do with Tiffany’s intense obsession with Gabriel, however after a strong observation she found it hard to guess.
‘What’s with that look?’
Nevertheless, she was unable to draw any conclusions until Eveline herself gave her input.
Eveline snapped out of her reverie and looked at Susan, who was dazed.
It turned out to be the fear that had been keeping Eveline awake for days was true.
Tiffany was Susan’s daughter, and it was her husband, Jacob Amrose, who went looking for her outside the college that day.
When Eveline decided to keep the Tiffany story from spreading around the college, she spoke with Kathrine, who confirmed that it was Tiffanyy’s father who mistook her for his daughter.
She also stated that the man had a history of gambling and that his wife was responsible for paying it.
Eveline then realized that Susan’s husband was also a gambler and a drunkard, and her daughter attended the same college as her.
“Young Miss?” Susan’s voice jolted Eveline out of her trance, and she shook her head.
“I need to freshen up, Aunt Susan. Can we talk later?” she abruptly dismissed the conversation and dashed inside the bathroom without looking at Susan.
Eveline slammed the door shut, thinking about the statement Susan had just verified with a stunned expression on her face.
