Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 90
Chapter 90: I want money
With the note smashed in her hand, Tiffany hurried to her feet and bolted from the classroom.
She kept on walking until she reached the girl’s washroom.
She hurried inside, taking the empty hallway as a sign that no one would be passing because classes were about to resume.
With a heavy breath, she opened her palm and looked at crumbled note.
Tiffany was unsure if anyone had discovered her plan, but she was also unable to say for sure because she had been so meticulous in its execution.
But then, when it was evidently a threat from someone who was aware of her reality, she was unable to remain motionless.
With her eyes dangerously fixed on the mirror, she fisted her palm and said, “I need to find the person.”

Alex, meanwhile, had been behaving aloof ever since he found out about the physical examination.
These three years in Aspen passed without any hint related to his state. However, he doubted the faculty would permit him to continue studying at the college if they found out about his condition.
The main worry for Alex’s parents had always been his mental instability and they were eventually able to put their trust in their medication, which helped him maintain his sanity, after speaking with several doctors.
However, if the outcome worked against him, then everyone would discover that his parents had concealed a very important fact from them.
Alex’s gaze wavered, his mind gradually losing its composure as it began to process all the possibilities.
“What happened? Why do you seem so lost?” He blinked rapidly to hide his anger as Eveline’s voice jolted him out of his reverie and he turned to face her.
“Are you worried about the checkup?” She asked, startling Alex momentarily. But since she already knew part of it, there was nothing to keep hidden from her.
Without hesitation, Alex nodded, his eyes softening at the sight of her worried expression.
“Do not worry, everything will work out,” she comforted, keeping the truth hidden.
Alex simply nodded but deep inside he wanted an escape from this situation before things went out of his hands.

While Susan was working in the house, a servant ran to her and told her that there was a man making noise outside the mansion gates.
She scowled in confusion and hurried out the door. She chose to check on it on her own because no one else was available to handle the situation.
She moved to the gate, her heart pounding from the stares she received, only to see Jacob standing there having a disagreement with the guard.
The man stopped Jacob where he was and said, “You cannot come inside.”
Many of them had no idea who Jacob was, so they viewed him as just another trespasser trying to break into the house.
Susan’s face went pale, and she found it difficult to continue walking.
‘What is he doing here?’ she thought to herself.
Susan never anticipated Jacob to show up at the Miller House, but here he was arguing with the guard over something.
“My wife works here.” Jacob shouted, “I need to meet her,” after the guard repeatedly turned him away.
His lips turned up into a charming smirk as soon as he saw a familiar face.

“Look, there she is.” With a proud smile, he yelled, “Susan, come here and tell them you know me.”
With hurried steps, Susan arrived at the gates and met the strange eyes of the guard
“Jacob, what are you doing here?” Susan gave her drunken husband a glare.
Just when she thought Jacob had cut down on his drinking, he surprised her by showing off and making her look bad in front of everyone.
With a furrowed brow, Jacob scrutinized his wife’s impolite behavior.
“I want money,” he said.
Susan’s expression darkened and she clenched her teeth in rage.
“I don’t have money. Go home now,” Susan said, turning to walk away.
“I said, give me money. I need it right now.” Jacob seized hold of her and would not let go, pressuring her to satisfy his demand.
“I said I don’t have the money right now.” Susan retorted, slipping her hand away from his, “So stop making a scene here and go home.” she said.
The guard, witnessing the woman struggle, attempted to intervene, but Jacob shoved him aside and began pressuring Susan for the money.
Even though Jacob was inebriated, he had enough strength to harm the guard and his wife.
“Just give me the money and I’ll leave,” he kept on saying, but Susan declined.
She assured Tiffany that she would not lower herself to appease him. She thus refuses to give in to Jacob’s demands.
He tried to slap Susan when he realized she was not giving in, but someone grabbed his hand before he could get to her.
“Jacob, what is wrong with you?” The man was shoved aside with such force that he staggered and fell to the dusty floor.
When Jonathan arrived home, he saw the scene before him and hurried to help Susan.
He was more than furious after watching Jacob ready to raise his hand on Susan.
Susan frantically moved her eyes between Jonathan and Jacob, a fear creeping into her heart when suddenly she heard her husband’s hysterical laughter.
“Oh, so your savior has arrived,” Jacob pushed himself to stand up in jest. Despite his vertigo, he was staring at Jonathan with dangerous curiosity.
“Jacob, what do you want?” Jonathan questioned, snubbing Jacob’s jesting comment.
“That’s none of your business,” he said, turning to look at Susan.
Despite everyone looking at them, Jacob threatened, “Give me the money and I will go or else, be ready to get beaten to death once back at home.”
Jonathan glanced at the trembling Susan, then reached into his pocket, took out some cash, and tossed it to Jacob.
“Take the money and leave before I call the cops on you,” Jonathan warned and then turned to the guard.
“Next time you see this man here, feel free to beat the shit out of him,” he said and turned to leave Jacob furious.

“Master” Jonathan froze in mid-step, seeing Susan coming toward him.
She could not meet his eyes because she was embarrassed by her husband’s actions.
“I apologize for whatever occurred outside. Please let me know how much I should pay you.” Susan said, keeping her eyes low.
Jonathan sighed as he looked at her.
Susan had worked here for years, but he had never seen her in such distress—a valuable woman being coerced by her husband, whom he was embarrassed to refer to as an old friend.
“How long have you been experiencing this?” he asked, ignoring her previous words.
Susan twiddled her fingers, unsure of how to respond to him. She didn’t want to burden Jonathan more because of Jacob’s accusation of them having an affair, which is why he gave her a job in the first place.
“You understand that I have always thought of you as my sister, and the day I gave you the job was not for you to take this shit from your husband but your and your daughter’s wellbeing. So why have you complied with his demands?”
Jonathan and Jacob founded M&T International together as friends and business partners. They were a solid team that worked hard to elevate their business to the top and grow it internationally.
Every successful endeavor they undertook made them well-known to the public, but greed followed success, leading Jacob to want more and more.
In addition to getting married to their respective partners in the same year, Jacob and Jonathan also had children, who were born a month apart. Their economic growth was accompanied by a smooth living.
But during those prosperous years, Jacob developed an addiction to gambling and began to disregard his own advice.
Jonathan initially thought he could handle the business, but he decided to warn Jacob when things became difficult and he started losing money on the slots.
Jacob would begin drinking more after each loss of money. His focus at work began to wane, so he sold more of his shares and used the proceeds to gamble, only to lose everything in the process.
However, what infuriated Jonathan to the point that he broke the partnership was when Jacob decided one day to use business funds to support his addiction without consulting him.
It was the budget they saved for a product launch. Years of hard work had secured one of their biggest projects, but Jacob’s ignorance ultimately cost them the project.
Jonathan had hoped that Jacob would change, but he didn’t, and the new business he founded failed, leaving him bankrupt and humiliated—a feeling that has followed Susan and his daughter to this day.
With Jacob always drunk and blanked out after getting beaten by the debt collector turning their lives into a living hell.
When Jonathan learned about everything, he tried offering Susan help by clearing the debt. However this dignified lady wouldn’t take things for granted and asked him to give her a job at his house.
She wanted to work hard and pay off all the debt with her hard earned money, however even that wish of hers was taken in wrong way when Jacob accused her of having a secret affair with Jonathan.
He would beat her for sleeping with his friend just for a mere job, but Susan endured it all because of the love she had for Jacob.
But as the years went by and Jacob continued to harbor misgivings, she gradually lost that affection and only continued to live with him because she did not want their daughter to grow up without her family and have to deal with the curious looks from the public.
“How can I not meet his request since he decided to wed an orphan with no trace of their ancestry?”
