Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 93
Chapter 93: I will wait
Eveline sighed as she took in the tastefully subtle yet pleasant décor. “It is so peaceful here,” she said.
Because they gave students private study spaces where they could concentrate quietly, Eveline had always wanted to come here with Gabriel.
Its exterior was that of a library, but inside was a lawn setup with a balcony attached to enjoy the view from above.
Pulling a chair over so they could sit, Gabriel watched her fascinated by the location and grinned.
“Are you still reading the romance novels you gave me for my birthday?” Gabriel asked, jolting Eveline out of her reverie.
Her face was twisted into a confused frown as she questioned, “Why?”
“Because after reading that book you gave me, I just so happened to become interested in them.”
“…”
Eveline remembered how she had given Gabriel a romance novel the previous year because she wanted him to understand what it meant to be in love. Since he hardly acknowledged her feelings, it was her way of telling him how she felt.
“Have you read that book?” She questioned, taken aback by his answer.
“Hmm, and I would want you to suggest some more, so that I can implement those affections on us,” Gabriel said nonchalantly, but Eveline choked on his words.
She gave an ungainly cough a couple of times. “I have not responded to your confession, so you do not need to impose anything on us.” Eveline said.
She was still perplexed and hesitant to make any snap decisions without considering the effects on her feelings.
Knowing she would say the same thing, Gabriel came up with a different plan.
“But I want to pursue you, so please help me to court you,” Gabriel put on a sincere look, his words firm as his deep grey eyes.
Her eyes had always intrigued Gabriel because they were a mottled grey rather than the unmistakable clarity of the ocean. A shade that, hidden from the outside world, conceals something mysterious within.
When Eveline looked back at Gabriel, she saw that he was fixated on her.
“You want to court me?” She asked.
“We all know that everyone deserves an opportunity to atone for their mistakes, so I would appreciate it if you would give me a fair shot.”
Gabriel was prepared to go to any lengths to win her affection and bring her to him. Though he knew Eveline was not completely without hope, his words had hurt her.
To get her to see through his efforts, he therefore wished to soften her heart and show her the kind of love she had always imagined.
Eveline went quiet. With a slight frown, her eyes scanned Gabriel from the side.
‘Did he bump his head or is he so sure of himself that he thinks I will forgive him?’
All night, Eveline had wrestled with her confusion; her mind was holding her back, but her heart yearned to give him a fair shot.
Although she was afraid she would experience the same heartbreak, she was also certain that Gabriel had nothing to do with her previous life.
Should she recall with precision, events transpired once Gabriel discovered that she had drugged him to enter his life, compelling him to embrace her since she had been unable to win him over earlier.
He saw her as a perpetually needy person who wouldn’t move on if he did not acknowledge her or give her the attention she so desperately needed.
But the person seated in front of her had discerned her ulterior motives sufficiently that he felt compelled to own up to his error and offer an apology. His authenticity screamed throughout his whole being, demonstrating his sincerity.
“But I do not like you,” she whispered, observing his unchanged expression.

“Then allow me to make you fall in love with me,” he declared, speaking loudly and firmly to make her heart skip a beat.
“And what if I couldn’t reciprocate?” She asked.
“I will wait until your heart accepts me once more,” he said, dismissing all her concerns.
Eveline felt a lump form in her throat and she failed to speak. His absolute determination moved her.
‘Was she being heartless by still declining his feelings?’ this question she has asked herself a hundred times.
‘Maybe, in return for his assistance, I could give him one more chance after all.’
Eveline considered what he had said carefully and made a decision.
“Okay, but if you do not succeed, you will not bother me,” Eveline firmly said.
Despite his hesitation, Gabriel consented to her since he knew she had already given him an opportunity. Still, he would take advantage of the situation and win her over once more.
Muah!
Eveline’s eyes widened at the unexpected kiss.
“Thank you,” Gabriel said and she blinked.
Even though it came too quickly, her face continued to flush.
Eveline pouted, cupping her face and averting her gaze. “You can not kiss me all the time.” she said shyly.
She suddenly started to feel hot, when Gabriel interrupted her with his laughter.
“Sorry,” he said and she looked at him.
Suddenly, he leaned back again and said, “May I kiss you?”
“….”
Eveline scowled at his mischievous, glistening eyes and quickly declined
“No!”
She turned away and began removing the books from her bag. “We must study,” she uttered.
Gabriel agreed, giving her the necessary attention while considering her blush.
“Let us get started,” he said, and they soon began their lesson for the day.

Ella was going to leave on time, but she had to work past her scheduled hours due to an urgent need.
The office was nearly empty as she assiduously worked on her laptop in her cabin, compiling a report for the total profit for this year.
She paused, looked at the vacant seat, and let out a sigh.
The idea of going home alone suddenly occurred to her as Stefan left for a meeting with his father and she stayed behind to finish her work.
Stefan would usually ride her home on his bike, but tonight she would have to handle things on her own.
Ella glanced back at the laptop, finished her work quickly, and left the company, only to run into Stefan outside.
With a bewildered expression, she observed him gazing at the time as he leaned against his car, seemingly in anticipation of someone.
A second passed and he looked ahead, only to meet her eyes. A smile crept on his face and his legs swiftly strode towards her.
His smile, which seemed to stop everything, made Ella’s heart skip a beat as he stood in front of her.
“I thought I missed you.”
