Reborn As Noble - Chapter 463
Chapter 463: Javier’s Day of Disasters ( 463 )
“OI, Buddy!!! STOP EATING!! IT’S EXPENSIVE!!”
Javier shouted, rushing toward the cart.
“Cuquawked!!”
(“I know you have a lot of gold in your magic storage.”)
Javier froze mid-step.
“…Ugh.”
He sighed, palm to his face.
“That’s not the point…”
Still muttering, he reached into his magic storage, fingers flicking through invisible space. He pulled out a handful of gold coins.
The merchant—who had just been ready to cry over spilled mana fruit—clapped his hands excitedly.
“Ah! Pleasure doing business, young lord!”
He rubbed his palms, eyes shining like a treasure goblin.
Javier narrowed his eyes.
“How much for the whole cart?”
The merchant straightened.
“Just 5 gold, young lord!”
“…Just?”
“A discount! Out of respect for House Armand!”
Javier sighed again, tossing over the coins.
“Fine. Here.”
“Thank you for your gracious generosity!”
The merchant bowed, scooping up the coins like they were holy relics.
Javier turned to the cart and grabbed one of the glowing fruits.
He bit into it.
Munch. Munch.
His eyes widened.
“Whoa…”
The juice burst with flavor—sweet, tangy, and strangely energizing, as if mana danced on his tongue.
“No wonder Giddie loves this.”
He looked at Buddy, who was already halfway through another fruit, cheeks puffed.

“…And no wonder this feathered glutton does too.”
Buddy looked up mid-bite, tail flicking proudly.
“Cuquawked!!”
Javier narrowed his eyes.
“Let me warn you, Buddy…”
He pointed the half-eaten fruit at him like a dagger.
“If you start becoming a picky eater after this—”
“No. More. Food. For. You.”
Buddy paused, then took another smug bite.
“Cuquawked.” (“We both know that’s a lie.”)
Javier leaned against the cart, arms crossed, still chewing the exotic fruit.
His eyes slid sideways, a sly grin spreading on his face.
“Hmm… Maybe I should tell Giddie about this.”
Buddy froze mid-bite, eyes wide with alarm.
Javier’s grin deepened.
He cleared his throat dramatically and raised his voice in a mock-formal tone:
“Ohhh~ Mr. Giddie!”
“The mighty Pekko! The golden king of feathers! My father’s most elegant, well-groomed, and spoiled majestic steed…”
Buddy’s tail flicked nervously.
“I have an official complaint, Your Majesty.”
“It’s about a certain orange Pekko… loud, unruly, and completely without fruit etiquette…”
Buddy flapped his wings nervously, slowly backing away from the cart.
“Cuquawk!!”
(“You wouldn’t dare!”)
Javier continued, pretending to hold a scroll.
“Said Pekko charged through the city gate at dangerous speeds, disrupted traffic, ignored guard warnings, and then—”
He waved the half-eaten fruit.
“—stole your private supply of high-tier exotic fruit without permission.”
Buddy gulped.
“Cu-… Cuquawk!?”
Javier shot him a smug side-eye.
“Should I send the report by courier bird? Or mana message?”
Buddy flopped onto the ground, dramatically covering his head with one wing, protesting loud enough to ruffle feathers.
Javier chuckled and nudged Buddy with his elbow.
“Come on, Buddy~ don’t sulk. I was just messing with you.”
Buddy, who had dramatically flopped onto his side like a fallen hero, peeked from under his wing.
“Cuquawked…”
(“Still rude.”)
Javier smirked.
“Well, no matter now.”
He turned back to the cart and waved at the merchant.
“This fruit. Was it headed to Armand?”
The merchant shook his head quickly.
“Ah, no, young lord. We were just preparing it for the next shipment.”
Javier relaxed, sighing in relief.
“Then I guess we’ll eat it here.”
He took another juicy bite, until the merchant suddenly held up a small pouch filled with glittering powder.
“You know, young lord…”
The merchant lowered his voice, pointing at the pouch.
“This here”
He tapped it.
“is a special seasoning. Grown in the highlands of the elven border. Used only for sacred Pekko offerings. Enhances the mana flavor in the fruit.”
Javier raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued.
“Ohh…?”
He took the pouch, sprinkled a tiny bit over his fruit—just enough to coat the juicy bite—and bit into it.
Munch. Munch.
And suddenly—
UOOOOOHHHHHH!!!!!!!
Javier’s entire body jolted violently.
His eyes widened, pupils sparking with excitement.
Mana zinged through his nerves like honey and sugar made of lightning.
He froze mid-chew, eyes wide.
“Wh… what was that?!”
The merchant grinned, clearly expecting this reaction.
“Told ya. Highland mana dust. Packs a flavor punch.”
Buddy immediately rushed up, mouth wide open.
“CUQUAWKED!!!!” (“Gimme some of that!!”)
Just as Javier was about to take another glorious bite—
“Nyaa~ Found ya~”
Wha—?!
Mimi pounced from behind, wrapping her arms around his neck in a warm, fluffy hug.
Before he could react—
Delya dropped from above like a precision strike, hugging him from the front, arms tight around his.
“Surprise attack!” she grinned, face far too close.
“OI!!!!!!!!”
Javier was now a human sandwich—trapped between two overly affectionate girls, with no regard for personal space.
“You left us both behind earlier!” Mimi pouted, nuzzling into his shoulder.
“Nyaaa~ not fair~”
“Running off without saying goodbye…” Delya narrowed her eyes, though her smirk showed she wasn’t really mad.
“Unforgivable.”
“I didn’t leave you—I escaped!!” Javier snapped, flailing.
“There’s a difference!!”
Buddy stepped back, holding his fruit with his beak, watching the chaos like an audience.
“Cuquawked.” (“This is getting good.”)
Javier groaned, trying to pry Delya off his front.
“Let! Go! I’m eating!!”
“Now you’re eating without us too!?”
Mimi gasped dramatically.
“Cheating!!”
“Cheating? On what?! We’re not even in anything!!”
“Engaged! You agreed to it!”
“No, he’s engaged to me!”
“Lies!!”
“No, facts!!”
“OI!!! STOP DECLARING THINGS WITHOUT ME!!”
“Haaa…” Javier sighed deeply, feeling like his soul was about to escape his body.
“I wish Liana was here…” he muttered quietly.
“She’d drag these two away from me in an instant…”
“My, my~” Delya raised an eyebrow, her tone dangerously amused.
“Calling another girl’s name while we’re literally wrapped around you? Bold.”
Mimi gasped dramatically.
“Two girls, Javier. Two. We’re right here, nya~”
“Ugh—of course I am!” Javier snapped, acting like he was defending a sacred truth.
“She’s my beautiful elf… aaahhh… so cute, so pretty, so stern but so lovely!”
He dramatically looked up at the sky.
“Lianaaa~ come save meee~~”
Both girls blinked.
Then they tightened their hold.
“Nope~” Delya said sweetly, resting her chin on his shoulder.
“No way, nya~” Mimi chimed, wrapping her arms around his waist like a vice.
Javier’s eye twitched.
“That wasn’t a suggestion. That was an order! Let go! I’m a noble, you know! A lord! A warrior! A—”
“A cuddly pillow.”
“Yep.”
“I hate everything.”
“We love you too~” they both said in perfect sync.
Buddy tilted his head.
“Cuquawked.”
(“Should I peck them off?”)
