Chapter 481: Clothes, Cats, and Cooking ( 481 )
“Oi!!” Javier snapped, eyes wide. “The hell are you doing removing your dress here!?”
Delya smiled innocently, already tugging at the hem of her outer robe.
“My~ you said ‘join you,’ so I joined you~.”
“I did not mean it like that!!” Javier shouted, taking a half-step back in the water, desperate to put some distance between himself and her antics.
“If this is how you casually strip in front of anyone—nope. Not wife material. Absolutely not.”
“Fufufu~” Delya hummed, ignoring his flailing.
“Danna-sama~ here~.”
She let her robe fall, revealing a sleek, fitted short tunic and matching dark shorts underneath.
“See? I’m not naked~,” she said with a wink, dipping one foot into the river.
Javier froze.
“…You tricked me.”
“Of course.”
Behind them, Mimi’s eyes widened in disbelief, her ears twitching in betrayed confusion.
“Nyaaa!? That’s cheating!! You brought swim clothes!?”
Delya smirked over her shoulder.
“Unlike you, I always ready.”
Mimi clenched her fists.
“Nyaaaa!! Fine! I’ll go in too!! I don’t care about clothes anymore!!”
“STOP.” Javier pointed at her like a knight preparing to issue a divine decree.
“You. Stay. Clothes.”
Buddy floated nearby, watching everything unfold with a deadpan stare.
Delya stepped deeper into the stream, water brushing her thighs as she cupped her hands and began washing herself without a care.
She ran her fingers through her hair, casually scrubbing her arms and neck—right in front of Javier.
“My~ danna-sama~,” she cooed, glancing back over her shoulder, voice soft, dangerous.
“Don’t stare too long~ or I’m sure you’ll forget yourself and ‘devour’ me right here~.”
Javier blinked.
Then narrowed his eyes.
His gaze flicked briefly downward.
“…Nope,” he muttered flatly, voice devoid of humor.
“Not big enough.”

Delya twitched.
“Huh?”
He folded his arms and looked away.
“What, you’re the one showing off.”
Delya frowned slightly.
“My~ danna-sama~,… I’m still thirteen. Of course it’s not big yet~.”
Javier shrugged.
“Yeah, well… Liana’s already better.”
“…?”
“And Gloria?” He raised an eyebrow.
“Melon.”
Delya stared at him, her expression blank.
“You’re a dangerous man.”
“Tell me something I don’t know.”
From behind a nearby rock, Mimi’s voice suddenly rose up like a war cry.
“NYAAAAAAA!!! I’M COMING IN TOO!! IF FLAT DEMON CAN JOIN, THEN SO CAN I!!”
“NO— Mimi!! Clothes!! CLOTHES!!” Javier panicked, splashing backward in a desperate attempt to evade her.
“I DON’T CARE ANYMORE!!” Mimi charged the riverbank like a possessed feline.
Splash.
“Nyaaa~!! It’s cold but I’m here!!”
Mimi dove straight into the river—clothes, tail, and all—before wrapping herself around Javier’s back like a soaked, feline blanket.
“Danna-sama~ let me wash your back~,” Delya whispered sweetly, leaning in from the front and wrapping her arms around him.
“Oi—!! Get off me!! What part of ‘private bath’ don’t you two understand!?”
But it was too late.
Javier now had a demon princess in front and a clingy beastkin behind, both holding him in the river like it was their honeymoon.
Inside Javier’s mind:
“…If Liana saw me like this… I’m dead.”
Like really dead.
Buried.
No, cremated.
He sighed mentally.
We never even bathed together…
Not once.
All I got was a cold cloth and a warning glare.
A pause.
Then a small, hopeful smile tugged at his thoughts.
Maybe when I get back to the estate…
I’ll ask her. Just once.
She’ll probably scold me.
Say something like—
‘Wait until we get married.’
Then she’ll blush.
‘After that… we can bathe together every day, if you want.’
He blinked.
His heart skipped a beat.
“…Liana…”
“Nya~? What did you say, husband~?”
“Thinking of me~?”
“NO! I’M THINKING ABOUT GETTING OUT OF THIS DAMN RIVER!!”**
Buddy, now scrubbing himself on a mossy rock like a professional bathhouse bird, gave a knowing squawk.
Cuquawked. (Liar.)
“Ugh!! I’m going out!!” Javier suddenly shouted, finally pulling free from their clingy grasp.
He sloshed his way to the riverbank, muttering curses under his breath.
“Nya~ but husband~,” Mimi whined, still waist-deep in water, her soaked clothes clinging to her like a second skin.
“I don’t have anything to wear after this~.”
“UGH!!!” Javier snapped again.
He reached into his magic storage with a flick, rummaged for a second, and then pulled out a neatly folded girl’s dress and a set of short pants—simple, clean, and pressed with care.
He put them onto a nearby rock.
Mimi and Delya stared at the clothes, then at him, equally bewildered.
“…Why do you have girl clothes and short pants for girls?” Delya asked, eyebrows raised.
“Don’t ask,” Javier muttered, already too drained to bother explaining.
He opened his storage again, pulling out two fluffy towels, which he placed carefully next to the clothes.
“You two. Clean up. Dry yourselves.” He pointed sharply.
“And don’t you dare come out naked.”
Both girls blinked, caught between obedience and mischief.
“If you do,” Javier continued, tone sharp and unwavering,
“then you’re disqualified. Not wife material.”
A long beat of silence.
“Nya… rude.”
Delya just smiled softly..
“My~ danna-sama is stricter than I thought~.”
Javier ignored both of them and stomped toward the firepit area.
Buddy followed him, wings flapping proudly in rhythm with his steps.
Javier reached into his magic storage one more time, pulling out a large slab of meat—perfectly cut, seasoned, and still fresh.
Dozens of slices stacked neatly, already soaked in a light mix of spices.
His storage worked like a dimensional vault—nothing inside aged or spoiled, no matter how long he stored it.
With a flick of his hand, he summoned a compact portable magic grill, unfolded its base, and settled it on the ground.
He channeled a bit of mana into the ignition core.
Click.
The embedded fire crystal lit up, casting a warm, soft glow beneath the metal grate.
Javier began placing slices of meat on the grill, listening to the gentle sizzle as smoke and aroma filled the crisp morning air.
He exhaled deeply.
Long.
Tired.
“…Why do I have to cook for two extra stomachs that aren’t even Liana and Gloria?” he muttered, flipping a piece of meat with practiced ease.
Buddy stood beside him, tail feathers bobbing as he inhaled the scent, clearly delighted.
“Cuquawked!” (The price of your sins!)
“Yeah, yeah… I know, I know…” Javier muttered under his breath.
He flipped another slab of meat with a sigh, eyes fixed on the grill as if it could somehow save him from the chaos of this morning.
