Chapter 514: Beauty in Battle ( 514 )
From the upper deck, behind the mana-reinforced barrier,

Erinette stood with her arms crossed, eyes locked on the battle below.

She said nothing at first.

Only watched.

The way Gloria danced with that massive hammer like it weighed nothing, crushing monsters in one moment, pivoting on her heel the next.

The way Liana moved, elegant, poised, unleashing arrows like streams of light, never missing, never hesitating.

It wasn’t just coordination.

It was artistry.

It was declaration.

Erinette sighed quietly.

“…These two.”

She tilted her head slightly, watching Gloria flip her hammer mid-spin and slam it down with a satisfying crash.

“They’re showing off.”

Not to her.

Not even for the training score.

But for the two watching from the other chamber.

“So they can show those two…”

her voice dropped to a murmur,

“…why Javier loves them.”

Not just because they’re gentle.

Not just because they’re elegant.

Not just because they radiate calm and beauty wherever they walk.

But because they’re stronger.

Strong enough to walk beside him.

Strong enough to protect him.

And let him lean back for once.

And when the time comes.

They’ll be deadlier than any sword drawn in his name.

Erinette gave the faintest smile.

“Hmph… good.”

Erinette smiled.

Not one of mockery or pride, but a quiet, fond smile.

Her gaze remained on Liana and Gloria as they finished the final wave, still moving like dancers under pressure.

But her thoughts…

Drifted back.

Back to the days when she was still young.

Still reckless.

Still learning.

She once danced with her blade drawn,

each strike laced with fire and finesse.

Her partner back then was always the same.

Alf.

Back-to-back, spinning between summoned monsters,

fighting with rhythm and trust so seamless it felt like choreography.

They didn’t speak.

Their movements did all the talking.

“Truly… a real couple,” Erinette whispered to herself, smiling faintly.

And above them, during those long training nights—

Garius would sit at the upper ledge.

Silent.

Observing.

Always watching with eyes wide, sometimes covered with his hands.

“Hesbeirn?” Erinette said suddenly, her voice echoing through the comm stone.

A gruff voice responded a moment later.

“Yes, big sis?”

Erinette leaned against the rail.

“Remember our training back in the old days?”

A groan came through the crystal.

“Ugh. Don’t remind me.

You both were so annoying.

Dancing like lovebirds while I couldn’t even get a single monster off the field.”

She chuckled.

“You mean when you got stuck at Level 99?”

“Exactly!” Hesbeirn snapped.

“I was still trying to break through, and Alf kept twirling like a ballroom idiot while Garius was watching—covering his eyes half the time!”

Erinette laughed softly.

“He said he was shielding his innocence.”

Erinette smirked.

“And you became the general.”

“Yeah, yeah… still not worth watching you two flirt with monsters.”

She said nothing more.

Just watched.

As the current generation danced now, different, but familiar.

The heavy doors slid open with a low rumble as Garius entered the chamber,

his steps calm, coat gently brushing the polished stone floor.

At his side walked Alf, silent and composed, as always.

The moment they appeared, Erinette lowered her head in a proper bow.

“My lord.”

Hesbeirn straightened up and brought a hand to his chest, offering a slight but sharp bow.

“Welcome, Lord Garius.”

Garius didn’t speak at first.

His eyes scanned the crystal panels monitoring each sector of the training room.

Gloria and Liana’s chamber still shimmered with residual mana from the last wave.

Mimi and Delya’s feed showed the girls catching their breath at the edge of their cleared zone.

Then Garius spoke in his usual cool tone.

“How’s their progress?”

Erinette straightened.

“Which one, my lord?”

“All of them.

They’ll all become Javier’s wives eventually.

So they must reach the same level of strength.”

Erinette nodded.

“Liana and Gloria are still stuck at Level 78,

but they’re making steady progress.

Their coordination is flawless.”

Garius gave a quiet hum of approval.

“Good.

And Javier’s new future wives?”

Erinette smiled faintly.

“Mimi and Delya have reached Level 15.

It’s only been three days since they started.

That’s fast by Armand standards.”

Garius looked pleased.

“Alright.

After this, make them rest a bit.

No need to overstrain.”

“Understood.” Erinette bowed once more.

She walked over to the console beside the control wall and pressed her palm to the runic panel.

With a soft pulse of light, both training chambers powered down, sealing the monster summoning glyphs and ending the current session.

The air calmed.

The room quieted.

Erinette turned toward the exit.

“My love~” she called, her voice subtly playful.

Alf stepped forward immediately, standing at attention beside Garius.

“My lord… may I?”

Garius sighed faintly, waving a hand.

“Ugh… fine.

Go ahead.”

Without another word, Alf smiled and followed after Erinette.

The glowing lights of the training chambers dimmed.

The summoned mana dispersed quietly into the walls.

Hesbeirn stood at the central platform, arms crossed, eyes on the now-silent arena.

His voice, though calm, carried easily through the crystal speakers.

“Liana. Gloria. Mimi. Delya. Go rest.”

“Yes, General Hesbeirn.” they replied in sync.

As they walked toward the exit doors of their respective chambers,

Mimi glanced back through the reinforced observation window.

“May I ask, why Mrs. Erinette and Mr. Alf are standing on the training floor?”

Delya narrowed her eyes too.

“They’re not… joining the training, right?”

Hesbeirn grunted slightly and looked at the crystal panel tracking mana fluctuations.

“Just wait…

And watch.”

Inside the now-sealed arena.

The mana lights dimmed to a soft glow.

Silence held for just a breath.

The air inside the special zone thickened with pressure.

Magic flared.

Erinette stepped forward with a soft smile.

“Shall we dance, my love?”

“Yes, my love~” Alf replied.

No hesitation.

No warmup.

They both drew their special twin blades. These were forged by Rasdingen, bound to their mana, perfectly balanced for each of them.

As their fingers tightened around the hilts, mana surged through their bodies.

Erinette’s grey hair turned black, her body glowing with youth.

The years faded, revealing her true form: powerful, poised, radiant.

Alf’s hair and mustache vanished into black. His posture straightened. His movements sharpened.

The chamber responded.

The walls rumbled.

A portal split open.

From the glyph gate, a horde of high-level monsters emerged. These were not illusions, but real summoned creatures pulled from deep storage.

Twisted beasts.

Titanic golems.

Shadow-blooded wolves covered in enchanted plating.

All of them surged forward.

Neither Erinette nor Alf flinched.

They moved as one.

A single step forward. Then light burst.

Erinette’s blade carved a clean arc of white fire through the first monster, dancing along its spine.

Alf spun beside her, blocking the second strike with a clean parry and driving his blade into the creature’s throat.

Every movement was coordinated.

Every step flowed like a dance across polished stone.

Erinette twirled, slicing through a leaping beast with precision. She landed just in time for Alf to catch her waist and redirect her into a spinning mid-air slash.

Alf ducked beneath a giant claw and came up just as Erinette launched from his shoulder, driving her blade into a summoned wyrm’s skull.

He caught her mid-fall, spun her with grace, and released a wave of mana that tore through a line of charging monsters.

It was a real lover’s dance.

Romantic.

Sensual.

Deadly.

Where others staggered in formation, they glided.

Every kill was elegant.

Every motion was intimate.

Every strike had purpose.

Erinette leaned into Alf as he moved behind her. Her blade traced fire through the air.

She turned mid-motion and whispered just loud enough for him to hear.

“Still got that footwork?”

He chuckled.

“Only when I’m with you.”

After the final monster fell, Alf and Erinette stood side by side.

Their blades lowered.

They turned to each other.

And without a word, they kissed deeply in the center of the chamber.

Not out of celebration.

But because that was how every dance ended.
