Chapter 204: Shadow of Reborn
[Superior Sugar Rush]
— This skill allows the user to ‘explode’ with the power of Unity upon consumption of chocolate, allowing them to transcend their current power for a limited amount of time. The user can consume only one at a time, with no time limit in between consumption.
This was a universal skill that was applicable to any Rebornian, either they be Engineers, Farmers, or even Musicians. It would serve as a trump card, giving them a huge burst in strength in order to protect themselves at a critical time.
So now, all Rebornians had [Lesser Unity Defense] as their protection, and [Superior Sugar Rush] as their offensive option.
Although it would take a lot of time and effort to implement this new skill to the tens of thousands of Rebornians personally, Michael was glad to do it for his citizens. It would give him peace to know that they would be safe from harm even if he wasn’t there.
And before they even needed to protect themselves, he and Fudge were sure to arrive before anything happened. That was why he and the ninja slime spread their clones to every citizen, allowing them to appear to any Rebornian at a moment’s notice.
Speaking of Fudge, Michael was a little bit curious as to what the mischievous devil was doing with his nee regiment of Orcs, so he visited them in the forest, where the village were located.
He arrived at the outskirts of the Orc village, with wooden stakes as their walls and thatches as their houses.
It was still the same village as before, but there were now Rebornian Engineers surveying the place for a renovation. Now that they were a part of the Nation of Reborn, their standard of living needed to be upped quite a bit.
Seeing no sign of other Orcs in the village, Michael walked further inside their territory before he came across their ‘Sacred Grounds’.
Only now did he fully appreciate the size and magnitude of this place. Every tree was bountiful with Kakao seeds, ripe for the picking. And since the Orcs were part of his territory, that meant all of this was now his to take.
He planned to expand this Sacred Ground even further to accommodate their chocolate needs. Not only would he sell it, but he would also have to stock up chocolate for his citizens as well—you know, for emergencies.
“Hear ye, hear ye! As good ninjas, you must all know that stealth is critical!”
Michael heard the echoing voice of a very excited slime. He walked further up the Sacred Grounds and saw Fudge in his snake form, wrapped around the tallest tree and looking down at the Orcupine and Orcanine Orcs below him.
“We shall learn your ways, messenger!” the former Orcanine Chieftain vowed.
“You have us at your disposal!” the former Orcupine Chieftain said.
“Good! Good! Good! For our first mission as the Shadow of Reborn, each of you are assigned a Rebornian to protect. One Orcanine and one Orcupine. Two of you are to spend your days in their shadow, never showing yourself unless they are in danger.”
“AS YOU WISH!” they all screamed.
“BU! TO! TO!”
“RAH! TAH! TAH!”
It looked like Fudge was doing good work. Michael didn’t interrupt the slime and the Orcs doing their rituals, letting them do whatever they wanted.
He returned to Neo Orcus, where he was welcomed by Sheina and Umisu, who were busy preparing all of the paperwork needed for the Orc tribe expansion.
He let them take care of everything, so that all he needed to do was sign some paperwork. It involved creating a new chocolate factory, sending farmers to tend the Sacred Kakao Grounds, and other mundane nation stuff.
He kind of envied Jaku and Zion, who did nothing but laze around.

A few days later, the chocolate merchants were finally ready to embark. Their carriages were filled to the brim with chocolate products ready to be sold in Angora City.
They would have wanted to use the automobile for faster travel, but there weren’t any flat roads and gas stations in the Queens region.
Hopefully in a few months, the new Golden Road would have made significant progress and allow automobiles to be used in the Queens region.

“Thank you again, Michael.”
“No, the Reborn company is thankful for you,” he said to them.
After some reluctant goodbyes (some merchants became too enamored with the way of life in the Kings region and Neo Orcus and wanted to stay permanently), the chocolate merchants set off.
Before they left though, Michael saw a few black figures merge with the carriage’s shadow.
It was none other than Fudge and a few shadow Orcs doing their first mission. They sent their clones to the merchants as protection.
“Master! They are now citizens of our nation, right?”
Fudge plopped out of Michael’s shadow.
“Yes they are. And if I didn’t know better, I would have thought that you just wanted to protect the merchants. But… you just want to infiltrate Angora City, don’t you?”
The slime flashed a guilty smile. “Hehe, maybe…”
Michael didn’t object, so he didn’t say anything to Fudge. He, too, was a little bit curious as to what a capital city from the Queens region looked like.
Hmm…maybe I’ll plop in their carriage once in a while to check in too…
He flicked his finger and sent one of his shadows to the merchants.

Michael spent a few days meeting with all Rebornians and giving them the [Superior Sugar Rush] skill, while also catching up with them in the meantime.
He became intensely bored by the third day and wanted to see a different scenery.
He checked in on Kingsbridge, the Nation of Reborn, and the Dwarven Kingdom but they weren’t doing anything special. Neo Orcus was busy with the Golden Road project, so not a lot of people were free to entertain him.
Then, out of curiosity, Michael traded places with shadow attached to the chocolate merchants.
They were surprised at his appearance, but welcomed him dearly. On the way, they told him about their lives in Angora City.
He spent the rest of the day with them until they set up camp in the wilderness to pass the night.
