Chapter 629: In Elythion.
A group of winged creatures drifted close to their cloud, studying them curiously. In a place where the population was supernatural, the ordinary humans were the freaks
Their lack of fur, claws, wings, colored eyes….everything that was human about them was found a source of mockery. The winged creatures proved this by smirking and laughing at them.
“Losers.” One of them yelled out.
“I will cut your wings off.” Maureen screamed back at them.
Grandma Mayfair smacked her on the back of the head the same way she did those that she thought were fools. “Leave here with nothing, did you not here the warning. We are only leaving this place with your grandfather. Am I clear?” She bellowed.
Her voice was stern, and her eyes were going back and forth between Maureen and Andre. “You two will not be touching or bringing back souvenirs.” She looked at Luna as well. “I will murder anybody that endangers us. I have great grand babies to raise so I am not staying in supernaturalville over here.”
A shadowy figure fell on their invisible dome, startling them. It had yellow eyes that flickered with yellow flames. It inspected the with curiosity.
“I get the sense that they do not often see humans here.” Luna said.
This was because their cloud was now surrounded by other creatures. It seemed someone had shared the news on humans being in their midst.
A high-pitched cry echoed from the depths of the city and the creatures dashed away. The cry made the humans uneasy, and their heads turned in different directions. Was the cry sounded as a warning or a welcome?
“Sabrina….” Phoebe called with a little urgency in her voice.
“I have found him.” She spoke up. She asked the spirit to lead the cloud to an eclipse tower where the oracle dwelled. That was where Cillian was.
The spirit increased the speed of the cloud until they came to the gates of a dark tower made of dark crystals. Its high gates were impenetrable, and the cloud had no way through.
“Do we knock?” Andre asked.
Before anyone could respond to him, a voice came from behind the gates. “Grand guardian you are most welcome.”
The gates stretched open on their own and the cloud sailed through. It was lowered to touch the ground and the passengers climbed off.
Around the tower were gardens. Gardens with fruit that was glowing silver. Fruit that Andre was drawn to but for once he curbed his curiosity.
A door was opened by a male creature that looked like a fairy but with wings that had moving eyes.
“Rogon.” Phoebe said the name with familiarity.
“Blessed mother of the grand guardian.” The man answered.
Everyone in the group was confused by the ongoing conversation and they traded curious gazes. One, why did Phoebe and the elf know each other? Two, why had the winged creature named Rogon referred to Phoebe as the mother of the grand guardian? Was she not the grand guardian?
For most, it was confusing but for others, the answers came together rather quickly.
Maureen clapped once when she put two and two together. “Star! Oh my God no wonder she knew too damn much, I mean what baby starts communicating from the womb?”
“What baby knows the path to a mythical city?” Arrow shook his head.
“I would never have guessed, why did you keep it from us?” Rekha asked, her words were the thoughts of the others as they suddenly started to wonder if Phoebe did not trust them enough to share the secret with them.
David especially felt uncomfortable because as Star’s father, this was the kind of secret he should have known.
Phoebe flicked her fingers like it was not that big of a deal. “Because having this information in the universe puts Star in danger. Do you know how many creatures will come after her once they know that the grand guardian is a baby. Some creatures will try to suck her essence while she is still in my womb. I know how the founding lane gossip mill works, and you all are going to shut your mouths or face it hot with me.” She cautioned them strongly.
“Sister, I cannot believe that you did not tell me. I have the most powerful niece….” Andre had just started when grandma Mayfair smacked him on the back of her head.
“Everyone just cut it out already! So, what if Phoebe did not tell you something. It was all for the protection of the child is that so hard to understand. It seems that I am the only person that actually remember the purpose for our visit here.” She snarled at them, shifting her attention to the fairy Rogon. “Where is my husband? I know that tone is not pleasant but please understand the desperation of a lonely old woman.”
Rogon thrashed his wings as if he was preparing to take flight. “I say we wait until Ramiel gets here.” He spoke with unease.

“Ramiel? W-who the hell is that? And why do we have to wait for him? Are you holding my husband against his will? Why is Cillian not walking around freely and why is he even here in the first place. Is he injured or is he a prisoner?” Grandma Mayfair grilled the creature with one question after the other.
Rogon drew himself up, eyes flashing with wounded dignity. “How can you say that to me human? We have been nothing but kind and good towards Cillian….”
“Nana, calm down.” Phoebe whispered to her grandmother.
The old woman could not keep calm; in fact, her patience was already running thin. “Take me to him. Do you know how long I have waited? How miserably I have lived?” Grandma Mayfair cut in, she was not about to get into an exchange with Rogon.
“Since you lack patience, then follow me.” Rogon flew up, looking slightly miffed.
Stunned, Grandma Mayfair did not blink, her eyes remained glued to the vault stairwell that spiraled upward. “How do we get up there.” She asked.
Phoebe snapped her fingers and the next thing they knew they were in the room that was on the highest floor of the tower.
The windows were closed but light seeped in abundantly. The room itself was empty; there was no sign of Cillian and yet Rogon had stopped.
The fairy whispered to the wind and waved his hand.
Finally, they saw that the room was not empty, a man was in the middle, restrained by chains that were mounted to the walls. He had a very long beard; it fell to his knees just like his hair. The man raised his head for a moment, and he looked at the visitors. In his empty eyes, a spark of light appeared.
“Rebecca?” He called. “R-Rebecca!! Great, I am hallucinating now.” he croaked out and closed his eyes, bowing his head once again.
“My job is done; I have found him.” Sabrina announced.
Her confirmation sent joy and shock waves through the group. Cillian Mayfair had finally been found but his condition had them in shock.
“Why is he tied up like this! I knew that you were keeping him here against his will, that is why he could not come home.” old lady Mayfair lamented, sprinting forward only to be thrown back by an unseen barrier, the air shimmering where she collided.
