Chapter 632: A full family reunion.
Time moved really differently because by the time the rescue group returned to Citrus city, a full week had gone by. When their watches and phones started working again, they could not believe their eyes.

“How is this possible? We were gone for a maximum of three hours maybe.” Luna screeched in shock.

“That journey to and back felt longer.” Luke shook his head. He did not know how time worked beyond the veil or between, but he was sure that journey in the clouds had been long.

Somewhere along the journey, they had all slept off and opened their eyes at different times, unaware of where they were. They had also eaten a lot, half of Phoebe’s food, snack and drink supplies had been consumed.

“This is going in my next movie.” Andre declared. He was sad because he had managed to get any footage of the supernatural city but at least he had some footage of them flying on the cloud.

As the cloud landed in the backyard of the Mayfair manor, two guardians and two enforcers dispersed. They had done their duty of protecting the family members that remained.

“Oh it feels so great to be back.” Cillian knelt on the snow, and he laughed like an overjoyed mad man.

The servants that rushed out of the house had no idea what to make of the man that was laughing. The butler was the first to recognize Cillian and he gasped loudly.

“Master!!”

“Hurry, prepare hot water and food for the master of house.” Old lady Mayfair urged the servants.

In the meantime, Collin, Jennie and Shanna came through the backdoor. Jennie squealed as she launched herself into Edward’s arms.

Shanna found Phoebe and Collin grabbed both of his brothers in a three-man group hug. More hugs went around, and Cillian was introduced to Shanna.

It was a joyful reunion for the family. As they went into the house, they were chattering and laughing. However, the travelers were weary, they went to bed to have their baths and those who would eat chose to eat in their bedrooms.

Tomorrow was another day to continue from where they had stopped.

Early the morning of the next day, Rufus and old man Lee arrived at the Mayfair manor and joined the family for breakfast. It was a sorrow filled reunion for the men that had once walked the difficult road of fighting the supernatural together.

When Rufus shared the news of what happened to Abraham, Cillian shed a tear.

“I should have returned sooner.” He said, regretfully.

“It is not your fault Cillian. If you are blaming yourself for it then I will also blame myself for my illness. If Lee managed to stay on the straight and narrow, Abraham should have done the same.” Rufus said.

Old man Lee shrugged, “I knew something was off after you died Cillian and Rufus was struck by an unknown illness, so I quit.”

“It is really good to have you back.” Rufus grabbed Cillian’s hand and squeezed.

“The lane is already in uproar with the news of your return Cillian, your wife made sure to spread the news.” Old man Lee said, serving himself some scrambled egg hash brown egg cups which Maria had prepared for Phoebe and Shanna.

Releasing a deliberate joyful chuckle, grandma Mayfair filled up her husband’s teacup with milk. “It is payback for all the years those women gossiped about how I have bad luck because I became a widow at such a young age like as though it was my doing. I had to rub it in their faces that my husband is back, and he is younger looking than their men.” She did a little more giggling.

“He will age within half a year mother.” Maureen reminded her.

Old lady Mayfair did not care.

“Tell me about Elythion Cillian, does it really exist? When I heard that Sabrina was leading everyone to Elythion I rushed back to my office to join them, but they were already gone. What is it like over there?” Rufus lowered the fork on the plate, wiping his mouth hastily with a napkin.

The narration about the story of the journey to Elythion began, it was mostly told by Andre and Maureen who exaggerated the details at every given opportunity. Andre for example claimed that the cloud they flew on could talk. Maureen claimed Rogon, the elf was as tall as the Mayfair tower.

“I really cannot believe that we have been gone for a full week. I could have sworn that were gone two to three hours.” Andre spoke as he devoured his food like a starving lion.

Jennie shook her head. “I cannot believe it either. I prepared a feast on the day you left thinking that you were bring father home that very day. The children at the orphanage were so happy when I gave it all to them. As a director at the orphanage, I would like to make it clear that their meals are not bad.” She told them.

“I am still talking about the angel.” Maureen loudly said.

“Ah the angel! I have heard of this Ramiel, but I have never set my eyes on him, I always thought that Cillian was making up stories about him. When learned that he was alive, I suspected that if he had gone to anyone for help it would be him.” Rufus leaned back in the chair.

Grandma Mayfair made a ‘tch’ sound. She had not liked the angel very much. “He rubs off as arrogant, believe me Rufus, you will not like him at all.” She said, pounding her lips.

“He is an angel, is in their nature.” Maureen shared as if she was the foremost expert on all thing’s angel related.

“If it was not for Ramiel taking grandpa to Elythion, that demon would have taken over his body eventually. Twenty years is a long time for someone’s consciousness to fight control of a demon. Be grateful for the angel nana.” Phoebe parroted back what Star said to her.

“Yes mother, just be grateful that father is home and just thank the angel. Aren’t you a strong believer in the church of saints and angels? You should be rejoicing now that you have met a real angel.” Maureen concurred with Phoebe’s words.

Cillian rubbed the back of his wife’s hand. “They are right, I would have lost myself if not for Ramiel. He is complicated but deep down he means well, and heaven had its rules so the help he gave me was the best he could do.” He explained, then took a pause. “That aside, I am glad to be home, so much has changed, especially the people. These children have all grown up, I feel like I missed out on so much.” His eyes grew moist.

Maureen chuckled, lifting half a fork full to her mouth. “And you have not aged much; one would think that you are mother’s sugar baby.” She spoke playfully, her eyes twinkling with mischief.

“Oh come off it! Yes, I have aged but your father is still older than me.” Grandma Mayfair answered.

Jennie winced loudly, scrutinizing her parents’ in-law. Side by side now, one would think they were mother and son. “Err…whatever makes you sleep at night, mother.” A playful smile broke across her lips.

Before grandma Mayfair could respond, Rufus interrupted the women’s conversation. “Before I forget, Prudence wants to host you all at the tower, but I was thinking that we wait until this Azur battle is over. In the week that you have been gone he has been too quiet. Demon activity has reduced by a great margin. I am worried about Azur is planning. What makes me even more nervous is that we only have a week left until this red moon appears.”
