Chapter 636: Don’t make promises.
From what they had heard, this was a haunting case something not very human was creating trouble. However, none of the ladies was too quick to jump to conclusions because they had seen cases where humans faked hauntings. Maybe Mr. Rice was right, and his business competitors were playing pranks to bring down his business.

There was also the possibility of one of the residents or employees being a witch. The last possibility was some other supernatural creature or creatures running around in the walls.

Hunters could make guesses, but they could not draw conclusions without visiting the scene. Phoebe immediately suggested that they visit this condominium tower 6 and immediately, they were whisked to it.

As always, the architecture of the Rice family did not disappoint for the building was a marvel designed with sleek lines, beautifully cut, designed and painted stones, shimmering glass panels which reflected sunset in the right seasons and a private helipad. The fact that it was close to a private beach owned by the Rice family was a bonus.

“Wow! This can be a perfect vacation place.” Maureen stated as they exited the car. “Look at this view.” She leaned the car door and whistled as she took in the view of the Spear bridge meeting the sea in a fantasy like world.

There were eight towers in total on the property, all separated by wide margins. Residents were arranged according to the sizes of their bank accounts. The richest individuals would live in the building that had the best view.

A proud smile formed on Mahone’s lips. “Yes, that was the idea that we were going for, we wanted to create vacation homes for the wealthiest community. The weather in Stonehaven is horrible especially at this time of the year. Not many people can live here throughout but during the summer, it is amazing.” He told them.

“How much does a condo go for?” Rekha asked, she could see herself living there, watching the sun rise and set over the sea during warmer seasons. Even a rainy day by the sea was different from a rainy day in a closed off city.

Janice smiled, most people reacted like Rekha upon seeing the building. They asked about the prices even before stepping foot inside. “Well, all that depends on various things like on what floor is the condo, how many rooms it has and most importantly how great a view you want.” She answered as she stretched the grand doors open after swiping a key card and having her iris and fingerprints scanned.

Clearly, they had not skimmed on the security budget. There were more cameras there than the ones in the Saxon tower.

“Just tell them the prices perhaps they may decide to buy when they realize that nothing is wrong with the place. These are Mayfair’s billionaire’s, the small amount we price will not scare them off.” Mahone showed them to the lobby.

Again, Maureen was impressed. Phoebe too, although she did not want to admit it. The lobby featured sparkling marble floors, cascading chandeliers, an indoor waterfall flowing into a koi pond with beautiful fish.

One thing they all noticed was that condominium tower 6 was indeed deserted, with the exception of the employees. Concierge, cleaning ladies, security, chefs, trainers….name it, they were all available to provide every service needed by the residents.

“I will go and ask the cleaners a few questions, if anyone knows something, it will be them.” Maureen told the group.

Rekha stretched her hands in search of evil energy, from the way she twisted her face, Phoebe knew immediately that she had caught on something.

“We will get to work.” Phoebe made an announcement; she was hoping that the Mahone and Janice would prefer to wait outside. “Please send the employees out, we would rather not have to worry about others when we are working. Sometimes whatever we are dealing with can have the ability to take hosts or hostages, we would rather not have that happen.”

Mahone scratched his nose. “Okay then we will get them out quickly. I am willing to do whatever it takes to prove wrong all those people that are claiming something is off with the tower.” He said, pointing at pairs of curious eyes that peeked through the glass walls from outside. “Those are some of our newest residents that are also antsy to move out. I sent a message to the chat group telling them that a famous shaman was coming today to prove that nothing is wrong with the condo. I also invited old residents that are looking to sell. Once they know the haunting is fake, they can calm down.” He jittered with tension.

“You should not have done that sir.” Rekha wore her leather gloves as she scowled at him. “What you did is the equivalent of a doctor promising to bring a patient hovering between life and death back to life without knowing if he will succeed. Another example is a police officer promising to find a missing person or solve the murder of someone’s loved one without knowing if it will be possible. In the end, those people are left holding air sometimes. This place is haunted by an angry ghost, if you don’t want your tenants to know, find something to distract them.” She gave him the bad news.

The spirit appeared from the space; it had been very busy with the other ghosts making bullets that the hunters and guardians used. “I could not stay back just in case you put yourself in danger.” It stated in a disapproving tone. “Our focus should be Azur not petty a haunting case.” It complained.

Phoebe released a soft chuckle. “Since it is a petty haunting case then it should not take long.” She answered, bundling her hair into a ponytail, then she freed the undead pets and ordered them to search for paranormal signs.

“There is no need.” Star told her mother. “The ghost is in the hidden underground storeroom right now.” She added.

Phoebe shifted her attention to Mahone. “Where is this hidden storeroom or do you want me to find it for myself.” Her came on form of a question.

Mahone opened his mouth to answer but no words came out. “H-how…how did you know about that? But it is not hidden or anything like that.” Raising his voice for everyone that was eavesdropping to hear he added, “And we don’t use it for shady purposes. We just keep the unwanted equipment there until it is either given away or auctioned off.” He scratched the middle of his palm.

“So then can you explain why there are human bones in a black bag stowed there?” She asked a question that made everyone gasp.
