Chapter 647: Epilogue.
Four months had passed since the day of the battle. Something miraculous had even happened on that day. After the blood moon disappeared from the sky and the sun came out again, everywhere that the grand guardian’s magic had touch, flowers blossomed.

The news had reported it as abnormality, along side the tragic news of a terrorist attack in the founding lane. For those that shared stories about witnessing abnormal creatures, the government claimed the terrorists had dressed up in Halloween costumes to create panic and make a statement. But what statement, the people would never know.

Those that died heroically while fighting the terrorists were commemorated as heroes. The day of the battle was made a public holiday to remember the fallen that had sacrificed their lives for others.

And with that, the people took the first step to healing. But for others, healing was still a long way off and even after four months, they were still forcing smiles on their faces.

This was the case in the Black ghost cafe which was still open to customers, ghost and human. They had decided to keep the cafe open because grandma Mayfair did not want Phoebe to return only to be told that the cafe she had worked hard to build had been closed.

A waitress had just tripped over a hunter who was having coffee. His first instinct was touch the gun hidden in his coat.

It was Cillian who quickly stepped in and calmed down the nervous hunter.

When he returned, grandma Mayfair had a question.”Do you think that things will ever get back to normal?”

Grandpa Mayfair massaged his wife’s back. “Of course they will. They will be even more than normal when our granddaughter returns.” He comforted her, even though doubt lingered in his own heart. He yearned for Phoebe to return since they were just beginning to know each other when she vanished.

The doorbell chimed causing their hearts to flutter like the wings of a butterfly. This happened every time someone walked into the cafe and whenever they saw that it was not the people they wanted to see, they felt let down.

Four hunters and guardians from both the Saxon and Mayfair households waled into the cafe.

“Any luck?” Rosset asked, fidgeting with her fingers.”

Maureen and Rekha shook their heads. “We didn’t not find her in Cantona bay either.” Her voice sounded, filled with sorrow.

In the last four months they had searched everywhere on the earth where magic seemed off or something supernatural happened but Phoebe and David were nowhere to be found. Instead, they found the usual things, supernatural trouble or new demons that were looking to be the next Ravana’s. The cycle, as always, never ended.

“I think that we should give up on the search because whatever took them does not want us to find them.” Rufus chocked down a lemonade, he only ate because he had to revitalize his strength but he had no appetite with no knowledge of the whereabouts of his grandson.

They knew the couple was alive, their soul lamps said so. But where were they?

“I am hopeful that they are okay and that they will return in time.” Sabrina mentioned. She was more than certain of where they were but the path they had taken before was gone. So, she kept the knowledge to herself.

Of course, Cillian did propose that they could be there but they had failed to find a path to Elythion. Ramiel had not been seen since the war so there was no angelic help.

Edward shook his head. “I cannot believe that she would just leave! Four whole months and no word.” He let out a broken sob but swallowed it. He and his wife did enough private crying in their bedroom.

The hunter paid his bill and left. Only two customers were in the cafe and they had long finished their meals.

“Let’s go home, tomorrow will be another day to search for Phoebe and David.” Maureen suggested.

Sabrina approached the two customers and told them they were closing up. The two customers were Arrow and Evelyn who were glued to each other. Even after they had given Evelyn a concoction that was an antidote to the love portion, her feelings for Arrow had not changed one bit.

This was her longest lasting relationship so far. At least one good thing had happened.

4: 12 am, the next morning

The residents of the Mayfair manor were jolted awake by piercing screams of a woman in agony. They all rushed out of the bedrooms, confusion pooling in their eyes about who was screaming. Everyone was holding some kind of weapon and the security guards were already on high alert.

“What was that?” Andre asked.

“A banshee.” Rekha said with skepticism.

The terrible scream was heard again. Confusion doubled once they realized that the screams where coming from Phoebe’s room.

“Who the hell is that? Who dares to trespass in my daughter’s bedroom?” Jennie asked pointing at the closed door. No one had entered her daughter’s room except her.

She even cleaned it personally and maintained everything as Phoebe and David had left it. One by one, their feet run to the bedroom door.

“P-phoebe?” Grandma Mayfair rushed to open the door but in vain, it was locked.

Everyone’s breath hitched. Could it be! They wondered and hoped.

Maureen launched a kick at the door, adding magical force to it and forcing the door to break wide open. They all poured inside, shoving each other out of the way.

Their eyes widened when they saw Phoebe on the bed, tugging on David’s hair, groaning and crying in pain.

“Mama….” Phoebe cried out tiredly.

Jennie run to her, shouting for the servants to bring towels and screaming Luke’s name.

“Pheebs….” Rekha started

“I am having a baby!” Phoebe growled at her and she let out another scream that reminded those that were blankly staring that Star was finally coming into the world.

Grandma Mayfair and Maureen yanked David aside like used tissue, his usefulness officially expired. “Move over, we have got this. Luke hurry up!” Grandma Mayfair called.

“Oh…this is…ooohhhh…” Andre covered his eyes and turned away.

Collin looked at Shanna’s stomach and he took a deep breath. In two weeks, she would be where Phoebe was.

“I am here sis, welcome home.” Luke said, about to bend and peek below but Maureen yanked him away.

“I have got this, all the men out.” She bellowed.

Jennie escorted everyone out for the room was overcrowded. She sent Luna and Andre to inform the Saxon’s and then she closed the door.

In the minutes that followed, little baby Star was born. As David and Phoebe looked their little bundle of joy with a head of soft white hair. David came up with a name. “Esther, we should call her Esther. She is the star that brought light into our lives.”

“Esther Saxon, I like the sound of that.” Moisture grew in Phoebe’s eyes, she was finally holding her baby girl in her arms.

Star started crying, demanding to feed immediately.

“I told you she was a fussy baby.” Maureen laughed.

Rekha winced as she studied the baby. “I thought she would just teleport out of you since she is the grand guardian.” Her curious voice came through.

“She is not the grand guardian anymore, and I am not a shaman either.” Phoebe smiled but tears filled her eyes, it was uncertain if they were for joy or sorrow.

Star still had her connection to magic but just normal magic, not the super magic bomb kind. It was the cost of her being the first grand guardian not to explode and die in the war.

“I will miss seeing your thoughts.” Maureen laughed.

Phoebe chuckled as well. The Saxon spirit had already told her about them seeing her thoughts. Her family because they were part of her, the Saxons for they were tied to the pendant and Collin Baltimore because the pendant cut him while trying to save her on the day she died in her past life. Some of her blood had ended up in him.

The pendant was now connected to Star and not Phoebe. Because Star was a Saxon, there were no conditions for her to use it. Phoebe could only access the space now as a visitor. The ghosts were still there and she could see them with the help of the Saxon spirit.

“Yes I am just a normal, ordinary person. I will live to my natural age but there will be no more helping ghosts or hunting for me.” Phoebe answered, staring down at her baby.

She could still hunt if she wished but she would rather raise her baby and make potions.

Her mother kissed the top of her head. “You will get used to it sweetheart, we are just glad that you returned to us.” She stared at her adoringly.

There was joy in the house, more noise than they had made in the last four months. Andre had already popped the champagne, and everyone was eagerly waiting their turn to carry the baby. Grandma Mayfair had already posted a picture of her in the fabulous lady’s gossip chat group. It was the first post she was making in four months.

“So, tell us where you have been and what you were up to.” Maureen requested.

David walked into the bedroom with about sixteen Saxon’s on his trail plus Arrow and Evelyn. “My wife needs to rest but I will tell you everything that happened in Elythion.”
