Chapter 216: Chapter213-Nether Soul Knight Commander — The Nightmare Is About to Begin
“Holy crap!”
“Is that even allowed?!”
Arthur’s bold move left Kris and the Thunder Knight Commander completely dumbfounded.
Now they finally understood why Arthur had called them both fools earlier.
Velen was a notorious spendthrift. If he brought something out in front of you, it wasn’t because he was afraid you’d ask for it—it was because he was hoping you would!
The only thing he feared was that you didn’t know how to spend!
With this realization, Kris and Thunder exchanged a glance, then strode straight over to Velen.
“I wonder what kind of ‘brilliant ideas’ those two will come up with,” Velen mused, clearly intrigued by their approach.
“Your Highness Velen,” Kris began, “I heard you mention wanting to replace all the fortress’s buckets, bathtubs, and foot basins. As it happens, I have excellent blade control. If Your Highness trusts me, I’d be happy to take on the task!”
“Of course!” Velen grinned. “I absolutely trust your skills, Kris. Go ahead and start chopping. And don’t forget to make some tubs and basins for yourself and your family while you’re at it.”
As Kris left enthusiastically, Velen turned to the other.
“Thunder Knight Commander, what about you?”
With a straight face, the Thunder Knight Commander answered, “Your Highness Velen, I’d like to demolish my entire residence and rebuild it from scratch.”
When the words came out, Kris and Arthur—who had been happily sawing away at the Astral Aurum—both froze. They stared at Thunder as if he’d grown a second head.
They had been proud of scoring some Astral Aurum to make foot basins and bathtubs, and here was Thunder—planning to rebuild his entire estate?!
“Hahahaha!”
Even Velen was stunned for a second. But once he processed what he heard, he burst out laughing. With a grand wave of his hand, he declared, “Then go chop!”
Thunder strutted over to Kris and Arthur with a smug expression.
“Look at you two. Can’t even figure out how to spend properly—what a pair of dopes!”
“Alright,” Velen said to the group, “chop however much you need. I’m heading back to rest.”
As the sky darkened, he bid them farewell and headed toward the courtyard.
Meanwhile, Kurt and Kevin—still sprawled blissfully atop their Astral Aurum—suddenly felt… less satisfied.
So what if they’d gotten some?
Imagine sleeping on a bed made of ten-thousand-year Astral Aurum!
Now that would be living the dream!
“Old Kev, you know why we only got a little?” Kurt asked bitterly.
“Because we’re a couple of old fools who don’t know how to waste money!” Kevin sighed.
Without another word, both of them stashed their Astral Aurum into their spatial rings and walked out of the estate.
They needed some time alone.
Earlier, wasting Astral Aurum on carving pens had made them miserable.

Now, not knowing how to waste enough was what made them miserable!
Wasting made them suffer.
Not wasting also made them suffer.
Who could handle this kind of torment?!
—
At Velen’s courtyard residence—
“What a fulfilling day,” Velen murmured as he slipped into bed, instinctively tucking the quilt between his legs and closing his eyes.
—
Inside the fortress’s main hall—
Anastasia, who had been meditating, suddenly sensed a fluctuation from her communication crystal. She opened her eyes and took it out.
“Anastasia, did the five senators manage to survive the thunder tide using that Starry Stone hut?”
“Why haven’t they returned yet?”
Duke Michelstein’s anxious voice sounded directly in her mind.
“Father, I’m afraid the five senators won’t be returning anytime soon.”
“The details aren’t important, but I can assure you: once they do return, the fortress will no longer fear any faction. We’ll become an absolute powerhouse within the Titan Galaxy.”
“What?!”
“Anastasia, are you serious?!”
“If they’re going to be that strong… how would they fare against the Uno Kingdom?”
“Titan Galaxy?” Anastasia responded, her tone calm but firm.
“Any one of the five senators could single-handedly obliterate the entire Titan Galaxy.”
Gasp!
Duke Michelstein took a sharp breath. He was stunned speechless.
One person—any one of them—capable of wiping out the entire galaxy?
If it hadn’t been his own daughter telling him this, he would’ve thought it a joke.
—
Back in the fortress—
“Big Sis, I haven’t even started your special training yet.”
“Don’t worry, I won’t be as rough as that red-haired one-eyed freak, but it won’t be far off.”
“So you’d better start preparing yourself mentally.”
A little girl, sitting beside Anastasia and eating a lollipop, smiled sweetly as she gave the warning.
“So long as it makes me stronger, no matter how brutal the training, I can handle it.”
Anastasia met the little girl’s gaze, eyes full of resolve.
—
The next morning—
“Man, that was one great night of sleep!”
Velen stretched as he sat up from bed, then quickly checked the special item for the day.
Today’s Special Item: Soul Orbe × 10,000
Soul Orbe:
Contains extremely pure soul energy. A special item crafted over many years by soul-cultivating mages using the power of their own divine souls.
“Crap!”
“This again?!”
Seeing that the special item was once again Soul Orbes, Velen could only smile wryly and mutter, “Looks like I’ll have to use Kris as the sculpture model for Leon today. Which means Arthur and Thunder will be stuck playing volleyball again!”
He’d played volleyball with Ethan once before—and he had no intention of doing it again.
Especially not with this many Soul Orbes.
—
Arthur’s Courtyard—
“Old Soul, what are you doing here?”
Seeing the arrival of the Nether Soul Knight Commander, Arthur raised an eyebrow in curiosity.
“With a chunk of Astral Aurum that big lying around, you really thought I wouldn’t notice?”
“I didn’t know what it was at first, but last night I stayed up digging through records on memory stones—and I found it.”
“Tell me—is that piece of Astral Aurum from His Highness Velen?”
A few minutes later—
After learning a few things about Velen, the Nether Soul Knight Commander turned toward Thunder Knight Commander—who was quietly standing to the side—with deep envy in his eyes.
“Old Soul,” Arthur said with a wry smile, “don’t look at us like that. Sure, we’re getting some benefits now, but you don’t know what kind of torment we went through to get here!”
